Everything you are looking for in a business. Denver Outdoor Adventure Company was responsive and easy to get ahold of. They answered all my questions and the pricing was reasonable. The equipment was in wonderful shape we rented a canoe. Extremely friendly service from pick up to drop off. We rented a canoe and took it to Trinidad State Park and also Horsetooth Reservoir. I know paddle boards are all the rage but if you're looking to move along the water quickly and see a lot look into a tandem canoe. read more

I went to the evening paddle event at Chatfield Reservoir. This is very low key, you're mostly just there to watch the sunset. Bring some water and some bug spray :) The first night I was scheduled was cancelled due to rain. The company rescheduled me with no issues. On the second night, eerything was set up and ready to go, and the guide was helpful and patient. We started on time with a small group, with everyone masking up until we were out on the water. If you want to explore the reservoir, then this isn't the outing for you. But if you want an evening of amazing views, this is for you. read more

Such a great place! I was in town visiting a friend and rented some snowshoes with poles. It was so affordable ($21) and the gear was in pristine condition. The owner was really nice and helpful, too. I had a great time snowshoeing! It was a little confusing finding the place. It's indoors down a long hallway, not with a street-facing store front. So just remember to look for the address and you'll find the location easily. read more

We booked a Pike's Peak Outting and it was such a great time! Luke and Savannah were great! We originally were to us paddle boards and due to great communication we were able to swap over to Kayaks since it is still really cool out on water in the early AM. After spending way too much money on hourly rentals at the lake, we found this place. Very reasonable rates and nice equipment. It was easy to reserve our paddle boards online. The pickup location is a little unique in the alley but pay attention to the specifics on their website about identifying the correct door and you're fine. Overall great so we will do it again soon! I rented two paddle boards for 4 hours and my total was a little over $50, which is an amazing and fair price compared to some other rental companies! Luke was incredibly nice, gave us options on which boards we wanted, and even helped strap the boards to the car. Also, their location off Santa Fe is incredibly convenient to get to the interstates (6 & 25) easily, so you can get to the water in no time! This review is for the Mountain Glow sunset paddle at Chatfield Reservoir. A group of 4 of us booked SUP for this outing. Unfortunately we showed up late to the outing due to a time discrepancy between the confirmation email and the website. However, Luke generously waited for us, and he and Allison were more than willing to extend our outing so we could be out on the lake for the full time period. The outing itself was wonderful - doing SUP at dusk under the moon and stars was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. We even got to see a fireworks display over the lake! We came to Denver as a 3 day trip. to hike and do outdoor activities. The group of us are from San Antonio Texas and I can't explain how amazing Luke was..he was so polite and actually took us to the lake bc we have been Uber and lyfting everywhere. First of all, $25 for this experience (which includes the rental of your kayak, life preserver, whistle, and a flashlight) is an absolute steal. Luke and Allison (whose name I hope I'm not spelling incorrectly) are very laid-back, friendly people, which makes this even better for anyone who is new to kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding. The whole experience is relaxing and lovely, whether you want to really explore and paddle around or just bob in the breeze and current. We watched white pelicans skim the water, waved to people on their boats, and chatted with each other as the sun set over the hills and trees. I cannot wait to do this again! read more

Loved this place. Great prices and service! We got 2 Kayaks from Saturday am to Sunday pm for $80 and one SUP from Friday am - Sunday pm for $75. They gave us straps and helped us secure the Kayaks to the roof when we arrived and were completely friendly the entire interaction. Then I lost one of their life vests (it got mixed up with some others we rented) - their response - Those are like $5, if you want to give us $5 for it we will take it but otherwise do not worry about. Beware of this company and their bogus cancellation policy. We are in town visiting and talked about wanting to paddle board. So a quick jump onto google found the Denver Outdoor Adventures website, easily navigated and my booking for two paddle boards was made at 3am for later this day at 1pm. It's important to remember that I made the booking with not only less than 24 hours time before the reserved time, but truly less than 12 hours time before the selected booking time. So we get up the next morning and I had surprised my S/O with the booking, after I told him he quickly reminded me that we already had plans for this day and that paddle boarding today would be impossible. No biggie, I called the company, the man on the phone referred me to an email address to ask for a refund. So I quickly send off an email saying hey I shouldn't have booked with you all early this morning, i acknowledged their cancellation policy, but reminded them that I couldn't have possibly cancelled within 72 hours of my reservation because I made the reservation less than 12 hours ago. So this morning I get an email stating sorry but the policy says within 72 hours for a full refund, and they offer to replace my booking, stating they base their policy off of notice because that's time that the equipment is off the table for other people. That's nice enough, but if you cant look at when i made the reservation and decide that wow theres no way this guy could have cancelled within our policies timeline, and that they were hardly effected by the two paddle boards being off the market for what was probably a few hours between when they opened and 1pm. Well that just sounds like a bogus policy written to skirt around giving people their money back. So the point here is that I wouldn't recommend patronizing this company. They appear to only operate in black and white and have little acknowledgment for grey areas. I hope my 60 dollars was worth losing a returning visitor, and literally anyone else I can tell. read more

Wow! What an experience! We had the perfect day and Luke made it even better hiking White Ranch Park! Visiting Denver for the first time for a long weekend in November, we knew we wanted to get a taste of the gorgeous landscape. I would absolutely recommend Denver Outdoor Adventure Company to work with you to create a wonderful memory! I contacted Luke by leaving a telephone message after perusing the very informative website and he was prompt with his response. He listened to our wants and concerns and gave a variety of suggestions. Once decided, he was still flexible with details and also provided the equipment to enjoy the hike. Throughout the hike, Luke gave us history, pointed out interesting natural occurrences, took photos of us, and appropriately "checked in" with us (water, rest, options to extend the hike). He picked us up from our downtown hotel and made an unplanned detour on the way back that made my guy even more happy than he was after the hike itself! My guy kept commenting how great the experience was and couldn't believe the price- he thought it was worth more than what I paid. There is no doubt we will be contacting Denver Outdoor Adventure Company the next time we visit. Enjoy your outing!! read more

My experience with Denver Outdoor Adventure was great! Their online site was easy to navigate and booking a rental was effortless. I originally rented a tandem kayak and changed to a single kayak a day before and they were more than accommodating. When we picked the kayaks up, Luke even lent us some tie straps of his and helped us strap the kayaks tightly to our truck bed.
