DePasquale's is the best pizza in Salida. Sure you can spend $40 for a pizza at Moonlight or hang out in Amicas where the pies are so thin you'll leave wanting more. DePasquale's tastes great and doesn't break the bank. They even have a two slice and a pop lunch special for $6. The pizza here is way more filling. Try the OMG father pie which is literally a pie. Each slice eats like a calzone! Also their Italian subs are oven baked and taste great! This is my go to pizza in Salida. read more

This pizza was like homemade only better. The dough and sauce were outstanding and they don't just pull your pie from the oven after 9 minutes. They watch it and wait for that perfect moment. Ordered a large with half "supreme-style" and the other half was pepperoni. The flavor was really good but it was a bit pricey. We paid $23.50. Granted, we still had two slices left over and we normally finish off an entire pizza of this size for our family of four. The owners of the restaurant were super kind and even offered to deliver our pizza at the hotel next door but we opted to wait. They provided us with plates and napkins. If I was staying in salida, I would probably try a different pizza place next time, only because I enjoy trying diff pizza places but this place was def good and if I lived here I would likely order again and again. read more

To be honest I have not stepped foot in DePasquale's Pizza. A friend recommended so my husband ordered after work. It took quite some time to get the pizzas so he/we will definitely call ahead next time. I can't eat gluten so I was happy to see they not only had GF crust but they make it themselves and freeze it. It was one of the best GF crusts I've had from a restaurant. Kudos for that! The sauce could have been zippier and the toppings were skimpy for .50 each however there was lots of cheese. I've reheated it in a skillet and it is even better. Enough about GF...my husband had a regular crust with the same toppings. He had a bigger pizza, more toppings and paid the same. Such is the saga of GF pricing. It was still cheaper than other places in town that have big surcharges on GF options. He liked it a lot. It seems everything is hand made in this family business. This is the THIRD time that we have gone on a limb and tried their pizza because we like to try different options in this community and not keep going to the same place. That being said-- First try: super greasy, not cooked fully.. okay because we were hungry. (Ordered a large Cheese for reference) Second try: We call to order take out and the girl on the line says "I'm not doing delivery anymore" as her greeting.. Not "Hi how can I help you?" We attempt to order a Margherita pizza (Cheese, Tomato, Basil..) and the girl lets us know (really rude) that they don't have fresh basil.. Okay fine, dry basil is great! We order, and they quote 20-25 minutes and it takes 45.. Fine. The pizza was good, seemed like good quality ingredients. Third try (tonight): Call for take out to order the Margherita that we've had previously. They don't know what that is. We inform that it is Mozzarella, Tomato and Basil. Upon pick-up, the pizza that we "ordered" (according to them...) has tomatoes, slimy mushrooms and black olives on it, and is not crisp/cooked underneath. Pizza is brought back into restaurant and questioned, and defended by the workers (i.e. we "should have been more specific").. Should have been a pretty straight-forward order, as we let them know the only three ingredients (aside from sauce and bread) on a Margherita pizza during the ordering process... Don't waste your time. Moonlight or Amica's (OR DOMINO'S) will do a much better job cooking your pizza and providing you with a/any respectful customer service experience. This town is a tight market for pizza restaurants and these guys aren't quite doing it.. read more

Who would believe little Salida, Colorado would have such robust pizza choices? Our family enjoys the hipster joints in town for specialty pizzas, too, but we have actually bought pepperoni pizza from all three local places when we have had company & done a blind taste test (just for fun). Great Pizzas and Salads and Sandwiches! They have a great 'Hot Italian Grinder' style sandwich and it has great flavor. Our favorite pizza is the Meatball, the crust is always chewy and HOT! Regardless, If we dine in, take out or choose Delivery!! The owners are sweet and caring women that have a lot of experience in the pizza business! First of all I want it on the record that I'm not a hater, as a matter of fact I joined Yelp in order to support a restaurant who felt they were being mistreated on Yelp. But I am compelled to write a review about this particular establishment because it was such a horrific experience. I am almost speechless but have recovered a bit from the most bizzare dining experience in recent memory. My daughter and I ordered two calzones, I'm advanced in age and have ordered scores of calzones in my lifetime never once have I ordered a calzone that had sauce in it and every calzone that I ordered came with ricotta cheese. The proprietress claimed three times that she was a REAL Italian. How she could misrepresent the fact that she does not even know how to make a calzone boggles my mind. The dishes originators in Naples, Italy are rolling in their graves at the mention of DePasquale's. It was basically like eating a slice of pizza with three times the dough for $9. Avoid this place at all costs. PS they were streaming Christian radio and I think that Jesus wants ricotta with his calzone. read more

I wouldn't even give this place a 1/4 of a star, but I had to at least give it one star in order to be able to warn others of their shoddy service! We recently moved to this area and I tried to order pizza for delivery. I placed an order with one gal who took my order told me it would be here in 35 minutes. I then received a call a couple minutes from one of the owners who told me they wouldn't actually deliver to my house. I then tried to talk to her when she hung up on me. I called back to ask her why she just hung up on me when she replied "we're super busy". Terrible customer service and by an owner no less.
