I dropped off the truck and I left it for the oil change and check over the car. I get a call in about an hour your car is done. Some recommendations but nothing they can do today. Ok. I go to pick it up. They recommends, filters.... vague but ok, tires an alignment; and wipers. How long before I need tires, he wasn't sure he had to go look. The mechanic made the note. Ok but how about share that note with me. Hundred miles, thousand miles, thousands of miles, which is it? I asked what about coolant. The vehicle is 11 yrs old, bought it used. They said they just topped it off. Didn't really look at it. Ok how about the diff fluid, they need to take the plug out to check it. Ok... did you drive it, is it making noise? I wanted them to double check me not sure I'm hearing diff noise or tire noise. No they didn't drive it. Ok how's the trans fluid. They didn't check it. Then I asked did you grease the fittings on the drive shaft or joints, No again. Even though my receipt says grease as one of the parts. They had an opportunity today to upsell me on a bunch of things if my truck needed it, but they didn't even bother to check the truck throughly. I feel like I just went to a Jiffy Lube, no offense to Jiffy Lube bc they actually pull my filters and show me which ones they're trying to sell me. We have used them before and they were good. I wonder what else has been missed on my other car that we bring there. Really disappointed in Carmines. It's hard to find people to do a good job these days or who want to work. This was my experience.

The last time it happened was in 2015 (with a different vehicle) and so I knew EXACTLY where to go to get fixed up right Today was pickup day and once again, V&F came through with flying colors! In addition to having the damaged rear repaired (all paid for by Plymouth Rock Assurance -- the insurance company of the guy who hit me), I had the hood repainted because manufacturers just don't do high quality paint jobs on newer cars anymore! I also saw a special for New Customer free oil change (includes tire rotation if needed to rotate best tires in the front). I thought it was too good to be true. I went during happy hour and thought for sure they would tell me my truck needed a major repair. The service department was nicely set up. The waiting room was clean and spacious. I was first greeted by Ken who was professional and courteous. Kenny honored the new customer special. The technician completed the oil change and inspection in approximately 30 minutes. I was given a report on preventative maintenance to check against my records. My bill today was zero dollars!

But since I have been very disappointed with this dealership and their service department. First of all after I bought out my lease the sales guy ( the owners son) acts like I am an alien to him when he sees me. But I see him grinning and talking with other customers. I noticed that they kind of cater only to certain types of people. The staff is very rude. The service staff are very rude. They are not respectful. The eye rolling and disgusted looks I get are horrible. Like they don't appreciate my business. No one speaks they all just walk around like they are bigshots or something. Kind of hard to understand. Including the service manager (the owners other son). I took the truck in on 10/7 for a safety recall issue. The service advisor was trying to disqualify the situation right off the bat. He stated it was not a recall, even though the paper I bought and showed him stated it was a recall and safety issue. I was already thinking they wanted to charge me for the issue. Once we agreed it was a recall safety issue, he printed out a lot of records and showed me where they supposedly did part of the fix in 2019. Not sure now why they just didn't take care of the whole issue at that time? Anyway, he said he needed to replace one part as the 2nd part of the fix. After 3 hours, the work was completed. Not 2 minutes out of the shop on the way home the issue reoccurred. Wasted time. I was not charged, but I will never go back there again. I took the truck there for this same issue back in 2023 and they claimed they never heard of this issue before and I would have to recreate the situation, or leave it for $200 dollars for them to research it. What a joke. This is a known issue with these model trucks for a few years. I would not deal with these folks if you are not white or hispanic. They don't seem to care about the rest of us. I also got the truck back with grease all over the door, which I never noticed until I got to my next stop. Beware of this dealership.

I've been meaning to find a new mechanic and eventually did, and am glad that I made the move. What really was the straw that broke the camels back was that on my last visit they said my rotors were low and recommended a replacement (that was not cheap). I was actually pretty surprised by this as I had replaced my rotors (with them) earlier and I expected to get more miles out of them. So either: 1. they sold me poor quality rotors 2. I'm tracking my car and being aggressive on the brakes (nope...its a minivan) 3. I don't actually need rotors Turns out it was #3... I actually got the car up on jack stands after bringing it home, took off the wheels and measured the rotors with a pair of calipers. Plenty of life left.
