Had a new garage installed by Dependable late November 2022, they came out did a wonderful job installing my new garage that cost me almost 6 thousand. Never had a problem until recently, called the company with phone calls and texts. Eli the owner of this company finally sent me a text responding back, saying they are slammed with work. I told him I do understand that, but I'm a customer as well. Said that he would get to me ASAP!!!! Well that was over a week ago. Moral of the story is Dependable will take your money for installation. But when a problem arises Dependable won't be there for you as a customer. Needed a replacement part for my garage door. The service person came out to look at it within hours of my request for quotes. Very cool. However, when he got here, he cited that the part necessary wasn't available separately and that the entire unit would need to be replaced. This turned to be wrong. Another company quoted the replacement of the part and maintenance of the door for half the price. Wrong answer, wrong price. The reviews on Yelp looked good so Dependable was my first call. Unfortunately, they were a dissappointment. The person who set up the appraisal said they would be there at 11 AM on 10/12 but they showed up at 11:45 AM and no call saying they were running late. The appraiser seemed knowledgable and said he would have a quote to me in the next 2 hours....that didn't happen, but did receive an email later in the day from the owner (Aliav M.) saying they are preparing my quote.....which was fine. However, today is 10/29 and I have never heard back form him or anyone at his company. Had Eli come out on 10/16 to replace a broken spring. He replaced both springs and 4 Sheave Pulleys. The cost of materials, 2 180 lb springs 10 year guarantee $229. Cost of the 4 pulleys, $200, so each 4 inch heavy duty pulley is $50, again quick search of the internet, half the price. Also labor was included separately, not priced in with the materials. Its my fault for not getting more quotes so don't make the same mistake I made, look elsewhere. These crooks double/triple charge for materials, not a way to run a business. I hope the extra $200-$300 was worth it. Finally the door now does not sit level. Called to have it adjusted, wouldn't you know I have not heard back. read more

I had 2 garage door openers installed by Dependable Garage Doors on 3/11/2022 and I leave feeling like they really didn't care about me in the end. The installation process itself went smoothly and the garage door doors worked great. However, shortly after the installation was complete, I noticed that one of the doors kept retracting on its own after about 2 weeks. I contacted the company and they sent someone out right away to try and fix the problem. The person that came was pleasant, but really couldn't pinpoint out anything wrong with the door, as the garage door was persisting with this same problem. He did get it to work after about 30 minutes and it worked for a few days after he left. Before he left he said it "could" be the garage door rollers causing this to happen, because there has to be resistance from the door going down and causing it to retract. The price to change the rollers were $200. I asked if this would resolve the issue and he didn't confirm it would solve this issue, so I passed on having it done. So unfortunately, they were unable to find any issues and the problem persisted after only a few days. And I knew it couldn't be the rollers because the garage door opener that I previously had on before this one was installed never retracted once in the 6 years, I've owned my home. So as a homeowner trying to save myself money, I ordered new rollers and installed them myself to save some money. It was a very easy install for me because I felt comfortable doing it. After this, as I suspected, the rollers were not causing this issue. So, I called Dependable Garage doors and I connected with Eli the owner to tell them him the problem still persisted, and I think it may be a wiring problem somewhere. He insisted it was not a wiring issue, and they checked all connections. He then said its most likely your rollers. So I told him I installed new ones myself. And at that point his whole attitude was a different. He told me and I quote "why are you even calling me it seems like you know what you're doing" and a few other rude gestures. Just because I installed my own garage door rollers. He refused to come back to try to resolve the issue after about a 10 minute conversation. So it would be a $150 charge to look at it again. Basically, leaving me as the customer behind and not a great feeling after never fixing the initial issue. I was frustrated and felt like the company wasn't taking my concerns seriously. After doing some troubleshooting on my own, I eventually discovered that the issue "was" actually a wiring problem. It was the connection from the garage door motor head to the sensors. The connection was loose the top of the motor head. So I connected it better myself and there were no more issues for the last 10 months. I'm glad I didn't waste $200 doing the rollers they recommended because that would be money out of the door. I was disappointed that the company hadn't been able to identify this themselves, or maybe they even knew it was, and it was a quick upsell? But at least I was able to get it resolved myself. Thanks Eli :) Overall, I would say that the installation itself was good, but the follow-up service left a lot to be desired. Juan explained why the garage broke, what needed replacing and then provided the quote (it was a reasonable price). Juan fixed our garage door within 20 minutes, but he didn't just stop there. Our other garage door was acting up, and Juan fixed it without me even asking. He made sure both doors were running smoothly before leaving. Juan also picked up and disposed of what was replaced. Eli came to repair my garage door by installing new springs and cables. When he left, I had said, the garage door does not go all the way down. He told us that he lightened the tension. We do not lock this door and did not like that it did not close. We paid in cash $500 for his services. We have repeatedly called Eli to come back and fix the tension so that the door shuts. 5 times he told us he would be back, we waited for him and he never showed up. It was easy to take our money , but apparently he does not follow through with customer service. I will not recommend this company to anyone. read more
