While discussing a vehicle for my daughter, he repeatedly cut me off mid‑sentence, which came across as extremely rude and dismissive. What made the situation worse was that he quoted a price for a specific vehicle, then later changed his story and claimed he had been referring to a completely different car -- one we never even discussed. The inconsistency and lack of honesty were very concerning, and it left us feeling misled rather than supported. Customer service should be straightforward and respectful, especially when making such an important purchase. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I acquired my vehicle last year, just a month before my birthday, marking my first venture into purchasing from a dealership. At that time, I was balancing two jobs, serving/hosting while working at a nursing facility. It was a lot, but I was driven to reward myself with a new vehicle. Initially, the dealership staff appeared friendly and eager to assist, but my confidence began to diminish after I received my vehicle and did not retrieve the second key that was promised during my purchase. It took a few months for this issue to get resolved; they finally contacted a locksmith to get the second key because the dealer lied about the vehicle already having one. The problems did not stop there. A few months into ownership, I experienced significant issues after an oil change. My vehicle started to drive funny, as if it was slowing down. Upon inspection, it became clear that the mechanics had not secured the oil cover properly, neglecting to replace the screws. This negligence resulted in serious damage to my vehicle. Despite promptly returning to the dealership to address this oversight, I was appalled to find that the same damaged oil cover was reattached. Predictably, it detached while I was driving on the highway, causing further damage, including breaking clips that held the front bumper in place, car pieces underneath, and ripping out any lining around my right wheel. I had went back to the mechanics and they tried to hold the side piece that broke off with zip ties. Faced with these unacceptable circumstances, I submitted a one-star review. In response, I was contacted by management, who attempted to persuade me to remove the review in exchange for resolving my issues. I complied, yet the promised remedies were not delivered. Instead, I was presented with two unsatisfactory options: cover the repair costs myself or trade in the vehicle, which entailed going through another credit reevaluation process. Ultimately, the only compensation offered was a few additional oil changes, which were inadequate given the extent of the damage and poor service by management I encountered. Due to the profound impact this experience has had on my mental health, particularly as a nursing student with numerous obligations, I have chosen not to engage further with the dealership because nothing has been done. I highly urge potential customers to remain vigilant and unapologetic in voicing their concerns. Do not be swayed into removing honest reviews, regardless of pressure from management. While I recognize that the mechanics were courteous, it is ultimately the management's failure to take accountability and rectify the situation that has left a lasting negative impression. Had they acted responsibly to address my concerns by providing a new oil cover or rectifying the resulting damage, I would not have been forced to navigate these escalating issues. I'm grateful these factors were not worse; it could've easily gotten under my tires and caused an accident for other drivers and me. They do not honor their advertised dealer discounts, price gouge on some market adjustment fee of almost $5000, raising the value of a car 30%, flip from from $799 to $1199 on dealer fee from one day to the next on their website, they are dishonest, price gouge, and swindle. Charged us $1199 dealer fee, asked the next day for a refund, the salesperson never would write back. They want to give you next to nothing for your trade, say it will be wholesaled and not worth anything, then when you buy from them, they sell your old car for almost double what they gave you. They are not honest about a lot here. They try to normalize and legitimize their dealings that all dealers do what they do, but they don't. The sales guy will text and email nonstop before you buy, after you buy and you write to them, they completely ignore you. They have an F Rating with the BBB, many 1 star on Yelp and Google, and 1 star on Mitsubishi Motors NA. Regret ever stepping foot on this car lot. Lazarus went to Heaven, not sure this dealer will, he needs to repent and be more honest in his business. They do not care about their reputation or legacy, you would think they would want to build a customer base, all I talked to said they did not have a good experience here and would not go back, that is how I feel too. I actually visited Vero Beach Mitsubishi. I went in there with a list of items I NEEDED in my new car, but already had a model in mind. After two days of searching and constant communication my sales rep YOYO found the perfect car for me, it wasn't the model I had in mind (the model I was looking for wasn't available within a 1,000 mile radius, and because of a PCS I had a short timeline) but found a way to add all of the creature comforts that I desired. I happened to be on vacation in Vero Beach and he even arranged for the new car to be transported to me! He was so friendly and helped me with all of my needs and wants. I know I asked for a lot, but he delivered that and more. I couldn't be happier with my new car or the experience I had. I heard horror stories about car dealerships, but they couldn't have been talking about Vero Beach Mitsubishi. Everyone was so friendly and even remembered our first names, even the manager Chris. I saw a vehicle that I was interested in and phoned first to speak to Jermaine the manager. I asked him specifically about the pricing and he assured me that the price was only adding on tax and tag. With that being said I drove an hour and 15 minutes to the dealership to find out that the deal included an extra $3000 of miscellaneous uncalled for charges that were not mentioned to me over the phone. when I questioned Jermaine he told me I failed to read the fine print. Needless to say I was out of there and was not happy. This was a 2008 vehicle but I believe because I was not financing the vehicle and just paying for a cash and that they felt the need to add on all this additional extra fees. Do not buy a car here. They are dishonest. I went in and asked about a car. Gary Velde said $5900 but he would go to 5700. It seemed high. The same day I saw the car advertised on Facebook marketplace for $4900. I returned and asked again. Gary said $5700. I mentioned the fb add so they honored that price. I bought the car. After three days the check engine light came on. Several things needed to be repaired immediately. I returned and asked them if they would make it right. Nope. Nothing. Dependable Mitsubishi 2019 Outlander GT car-buying experience On January 25, 2020, I went to Dependable Mitsubishi in Vero Beach, Florida for the purpose of trading in my old vehicle, a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and purchasing a newer vehicle. I explained to Angela that I retired from old job on January 8, 2020 and just began a new job on January 13, 2020. I also explained to Angela that I took a pay cut when I accepted the new job, however, inclusive of my anticipated pension, I gave myself a raise. One issue was that I hadn't received my figures regarding my pension payments. Being a Saturday, I thought the paperwork would have been available the following Monday as when I left with the vehicle, I had no paperwork, only one key and no owner's manual. The following day (Sunday) an electrical issue occurred with my wife where all of the warning lights and bells went off inside the vehicle. On Monday, I started the vehicle and all of the warning lights and bells went off inside and the vehicle would not shift into gear and would not shut off. After a few minutes, it did eventually turn off and then turn on, however, the check engine light remained on. I drove to work. On the way home, I called Angela and told her the problem. I also mentioned the lack of paperwork and would like to receive the associated paperwork. She said to bring the vehicle in and they would fix it and she would provide me the paperwork along with the payoff information for the 2017 Sport. I also mentioned a front-end hopping that was occurring at highway speed (72-75) mph. I turned in the vehicle and was provided a loaner Outlander. After work two days later, I retrieved the vehicle and was told the starter button was replaced. I drove to work the following day and noticed the same front-end hopping. On Friday, I called Angela and told her of the problem. She said bring the vehicle in after work. I dropped off the vehicle after work and was provided a loaner Outlander. The following Tuesday, I picked up my vehicle and experienced the same front-end hopping issue. I called Angela and told her the same recurring problem was present and that it needed to be fixed and I needed the associated paperwork. I dropped off the vehicle a fourth time and was provided a loaner. There was no word on the paperwork except that I will get it to you from Angela along with the proof of payoff for the Sport. Five days later, I picked up the GT without any paperwork or proof of payoff for the Sport. The vehicle worked fine and drove well, however, there was no paperwork. On Wednesday, February 19, 2020, we received a default notice from the Sport financing company as we were now due for two payments (January, February) and they hadn't received any payments or payoff from Dependable Mitsubishi. My wife called Angela and was left on hold. She went to the dealership and sat out side of her office for over 45 minutes without being spoken to. On Tuesday, February 25, 2020, my wife and I went to the dealership after work. After much contemplation, I decided against signing a new deal and just wanted the paperwork from the original deal, along with the second key, owner's manual and proof of payoff. I noticed that my old car was parked near the front door. We walked in and Angela asked if I wanted to sign the new deal, I replied, "No". She immediately turned around and went into Debby's office and said that she needed to transfer the Sport back to me. She returned and told me there was no deal. I told her that I signed a contract and wanted the associated paperwork and proof of payoff. Clearly, I was mislead in my assumptions as a normal course of business. I had purchased and leased 5 other vehicles from Dependable Dodge, later known as Dependable Mitsubishi from 2001-present. I thought I would be considered to be a valued customer and not subjected to lies and deceit by Angela and Dependable Mitsubishi. I made at least a dozen trips and called nearly two dozen times over the course of thirty days in order to obtain repairs to the defective vehicle and also obtain the necessary paperwork that should have accompanied the vehicle purchase.
