Upon entering Mazzarell's Automotive, I was greeted by the kind and knowledgeable Service Manager, Ashlee. As one could imagine, I was a bit skeptical about what all this 'discounted' service entailed. Well, both my oil change and service was treated as ALL 'Full Price' oil change/service at Mazzarella's. Ashlee was very patient and eager to answer all of my questions(Cost of a Normal Oil Change and service), along with address any concerns I had. She was truly a delight to work with during my visit. I would recommend this establishment to anyone who might have an issue with one of their vehicles. Rest assured, i realize this isn't a 'prerequisite' for any business; however, the Owners are 'believers.' To me, that that always does a lot to calm the fears and feeling of apprehension when taking the tremendous leap in allowing someone to work on their vehicle. For the record, about a week after my visit to Mazzarella's Automotive, I received a letter/ and coupon in the mail. Needless to say, I have already given it to my best friend, and she will be taking advantage of this great promotional in the very near future. This business has at least two new customers now....not too shabby. PS: I saw Ashlee earlier this week at a store in Vero, and I was so excited to see her. I waved at her and cheesed really big...she looked at me as if I had lobsters growing out of my ears. I'm sure she has a lot of long days and sees lots of both familiar/unfamiliar faces. What I…read moreencountered at Viking Automotive in Vero Beach was not just disappointing--it was dishonest and unprofessional. From the beginning, basic expectations weren't met. Communication was slow or nonexistent, and when I did get answers, they were dismissive rather than helpful. I took my 2007 BMW Z4 3.0i E85 in for a straightforward diagnostic: rough cold start, a tire sensor issue, and a few mechanical noises. I was told it would take a couple of hours, which I was more than willing to pay for--especially if it meant getting a thorough, accurate assessment by their only BMW Mechanic! Instead, after about an hour, I found my car already sitting back in the lot with no phone call it was ready or an update. I was then told that nothing had been done beyond checking the oil, and that the engine was essentially "breaking down" due to supposed metal shavings and large debris in the oil filter. No one showed me the filter at the time. No one explained the findings clearly. I never even spoke directly to the mechanic. The written report was filled with vague language, like "possibly this" and "possibly that," which is not a diagnosis--it's guesswork. Despite claiming photos were taken, none were provided so I had to call and request them. Once I received the photos, I see this in the Subject of the email: * INSPECTION RESULTS FOR YOUR 2007 BMW Z4 ROADSTER* "3.0si" I Told them my Bimmer was a 3.0i ... did I receive another 2007 BMW owners diagnostic report?! And it's THEIR oil filter and diagnostic I received?!?! Are they THAT Unorganized & Incompetent? What's worse is what came next. After spending days stressed, believing my engine was failing, I had the car inspected by an independent mechanic. He reviewed the same photos and immediately identified what Viking called "metal" as air bubbles. When he physically inspected the car, he confirmed there were zero metal shavings or plastic debris in the oil filter--just bubbles. He also explained why the filter had collapsed, which was supposed to have been changed by a previous mechanic in Fort Pierce (obviously didn't change the filter, did they even change the oil)? After a cold start, changed AND filter, put in an additive all of which has quieted the tapping to ticking (intrinsic of the N52 per BMW) and improving. He then took my car for a drive afterward and stated my Bimmer has a strong engine! So now I'm left with a simple conclusion: either the Viking BMW mechanic, Colton, lacks the basic competence to distinguish between metal debris and air bubbles, or they knowingly misrepresented the condition of my engine, plus exaggerated damage, or diagnosed another BMW and sent me photos of another owner's Oil Filter, or simply LIED! None of which is acceptable. Kathy refused to do any other diagnoses as requested, nor will she do any repairs, and couldn't explain in-depth the diagnoses I needed explained. (She's a mechanic too??). The only person that should be explaining the diagnoses is THE Mechanic him or herself and Show ME the Filter! If they didn't want to work on an older BMW, they should have said so. Instead, they chose to provide a rushed, incomplete, and ultimately misleading assessment that caused unnecessary stress, wasted my time and money. Time IS Money! I would have gladly paid for a full, proper diagnostic and on MY CAR, Not someone elses. Instead, I paid for an hour of speculation and left with a completely inaccurate conclusion about MY vehicle's condition. I cannot recommend Viking Automotive to anyone looking for honesty, reliability, or professional integrity. There are far better options out there that actually value their customers, appreciate drivers that love their vehicle, and not only Do the Work, but stand behind it!

The day before my appointment, I noticed what appeared to be two nails in one of my tires, so I made sure to bring it to their attention when I dropped the vehicle off. Within a few hours, I received a call with a lengthy list of recommended repairs. I was also told that the tire with the supposed nails was not repairable and that all four tires were severely worn and should be replaced. I was surprised because the tires were only about a year old, had been used mainly for local driving, and were still under warranty. I declined the tire replacement and asked if they could remove the affected tire so I could take it back to the shop where I had purchased the tires while the dealership continued the other repair work. I even suggested they temporarily install my full-size spare, but I was told that would not be possible. After several days, when I picked up my car, I went directly to the tire shop where I had purchased my Firestone tires. To my surprise, the technician showed me the tire and explained that there were no nails at all--what the dealership had identified as nails were actually Florida acorns, which he simply removed. I also asked about the overall condition of the tires, and the technician confirmed they were in excellent condition, did not need replacement, and were still covered by the 50,000-mile warranty. In addition, the tire shop told me that my fluids were low, so they topped them off for me, despite having a lube, oil and filter change at the dealership. Overall, this experience left me feeling disappointed and concerned about the accuracy of the recommendations I received and the expensive repairs I was told I needed. I understand that dealerships may identify additional maintenance needs, but being advised to replace four nearly new tires over what turned out not to be nails at all significantly impacted my trust in the service experience.

After selecting the 3 lowest proposals I visited each of those three shops to see their operation. Bullets Automotive has the feel of a small town business with big town capabilities. This is a family run business with two additional employees that I witnessed are treated like family. The owner, Bullet, feeds the employees a grilled or smoked lunch every day. He shows them that they are valued. That is important as happy employees tend to care more about their work and helping to grow the reputation of the business. Bullet's spouse handles the office very capably. While visiting the shop I witnessed her negotiating with a warranty company on behalf of another customer. It was easy to tell that she is knowledgeable and skilled at dealing with the warranty companies and the hoops through which they put customers and repair facilities. The job for my vehicle was scheduled for the following week and they accepted my vehicle on time. The maintenance was performed and completed within the promised amount of time and at the cost that was quoted. No Surprises. The total extent of the work was to replace the timing belt, water pump and pullies as well as replace the serpentine belt. Bullet saved the replaced parts and offered them for my review. The job was done well. Having moved to Florida from the north where I was connected and knew where to get the services I needed for anything there was a bit of angst associated with the process of finding a good, honest auto repair facility. I think that this is a trustworthy repair facility that does good work for a fair price. Bullets Automotive has earned my business and I will continue to use them.

What made the situation worse was that he quoted a price for a specific vehicle, then later changed his story and claimed he had been referring to a completely different car -- one we never even discussed. The inconsistency and lack of honesty were very concerning, and it left us feeling misled rather than supported. Customer service should be straightforward and respectful, especially when making such an important purchase. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. A manager should be able to communicate clearly, listen without interrupting, and treat customers with respect. Chris demonstrated none of those qualities. He is arrogant.
