Dependable in f****ng people over. Towed my car on Saturday and couldn't get it back until Monday at 10. Made me 4 hours late for work and charged me an additional 30 dollars for Sunday despite them being closed. Had to pick up on monday right when they opened and they charged me for storage that whole day too. Cost me a total of nearly $300. Thanks a lot guys. read more

I'd think twice before using this service center, unless you don't mind listening to some racist remarks coming from one of the mechanics. While I was waiting inside the reception area, I overheard the mechanic talking to the guy at the front desk--just casually throwing around the n-word, saying (basically) "those 'n' words this, those 'n' words that," while the guy at the reception area desk was just nodding along, agreeing--not using the same language, but not telling this mechanic to stop, either. I suppose he thought that since I was a white woman, I wouldn't say anything or feel offended. However, I did not feel like listening to hate speech . We hear enough of it in the news. I finally told the man at the desk that the language was inappropriate and racist--and a few other things. I was only waiting for a Lyft driver, so I went outside. I could imagine the sexist comments they might make in my absence, and laughing about it later. It puzzles me: this service area is in a super diverse town with all kinds of people coming through, but here's this guy unloading his attitudes toward their Black customers, as if it were perfectly fine to talk that way. read more

My story is similar to other on here. I had an accident and my car had to get towed. The township called them not me. The tow driver was pleseant, but getting my car back was a nightmare. The woman on the phone was very rude and gave me wrong information. They charge you a daily storage fee and to get my car back you have to sign a waiver in person or mail it. Because I didnt have a car I had to mail the form in, which means they got to hit me with extra days of storage. I've worked with several tow companies in the Somerset and hunterdon counties and never have I had to show up in person to sign to get the car released or worked with such a rude company. read more

My car was towed to this place after an accident. I got a ride later that day to (un)Dependable Motors to pickup my stuff. The woman there knew that I was injured during the accident and that I had to drive 30 mins to get there, and she could've told me while I was there that I needed to sign a document in person to release my car to the insurance company, but she didn't. When my insurance company called them to get my car towed to the auto body shop, she tells them that they can't release the car without a signature. My insurance company was a little surprised that they didn't tell me anything and they won't do anything electronically. They said a lot of these companies make it difficult so they can keep the car a little longer to make more money. So I had to drive 30 mins to get there despite my injuries. And the same woman pretended like she didn't remember me (after I'd already talked to her a couple of times and called her immediately before getting there!). These people are in the business of dealing with folks that have been in accidents. I don't get how they don't even consider overcompensating their stupidity, inefficiency and lack of ethics by at least being a little compassionate. It doesn't take brilliance for it... just a bit of kindness helps. When I got there to pick up my stuff on the day of the accident, there was a guy who let us in. No matter what question we asked, his response was a very callous "I don't know". God forbid my car needs to get towed again, but if there ever is a need, I will tell the cops not to use this company for my car. I'm also going to give them feedback on my experience. read more

When i had an accident last month, police sent my car to this place. The manager was so rude and agressive. He even did not allow me to take some necessary things from my car and said you should first take your car. They charged me too expensive for towing and parking there. Even i wanted to tow my car by another guy who was cheaper. But they said you should pay $ 35 to us and then we allow you to tow by another company! They got $ 165 for one mile towing and one day parking. It was twice of normal costs. And more tragic: They stole somethings from my car in their parking! read more

Not sure why there are negative reviews about management because they were so accommodating and nice. They allowed me to retrieve some personal items from my car on 2 separate occasions. My car was totaled in an accident and both times I was there Mike & Zack asked how I was doing. I also was able to meet the tow driver that towed my car from the accident and he too, was so nice! Treat others how you want to be treated and maybe they'll be more inclined to help you in any way they can. From the looks of some of the other reviews it seems as if you're poor attitude was the reason behind your bad experience. read more

The place is dirty, staff is rude. My car got towed here and I got nothing but crap when I got here. They also only take cash for tow fees, despite a sign saying cash or certified funds....which a credit card would be. This place is so backwards, avoid if you can! The staff at this place are super nice and accommodating. A tree had fallen on my car and the roof was smashed in, dependable motors was able to fix my car and were really nice about it. I would definitely go to this place if you have any car problems. Since it's a small business you feel like a top priority! read more

Be aware of your towing laws!!! The base charge is $75 from 8am-8pm and $85 after 8 pm. YOU CANNOT BE CHARGED A STORAGE FEE unless your car has been there for MORE THAN 24 hrs. Also they punctured my tire and it took 3 hours from the time i went to pick it up to get it fixed. read more

Had my car trunk painted recently. Extremely poor customer service. When I got the car back, the new paint was covered with scratches and swirl marks. It looked worse than the original 10 year old paint on the car. Took it back to them. They were rude and said this is how it is. If possible, avoid these crooks! 1-3-2012, Dependable Motors, Somerset NJ. Overall Bad Customer service. Very shady and deceptive. They towed my parked car after it was hit by a County Bus. Promised to do all the repairs and arrange for payment from the County INsurance. "Trust us, you don't have to pay anything out of your pocket. we will take care of it all". They are not transparent on explaining the rules and laws protecting a customer. When it came to filing the paper work, they charged me upfront close to $1400 for Rental and Storage charges. They promised if I got my car repaired from them I don't have to pay them Storage fees and all rental costs will be adjusted within the "CLaim" filed with County. They also require you to sign over a waiver to pay all payments to them from Insurance. They not only wanted to take the entire reimbursement from County but refused to reimburse me for the Rental and Storage charges I paid them. I had to file a complaint to my AMEX credit card and I am still waiting for a resolution on the $1400. Please make sure you ask plenty of questions before you trust them with your business. read more
