I have been coming to the Mcdonough location for years, but that all stopped last month. One person should not work there at all as I know several people complain about her....I spent 429.00 on glasses that were off and after 7 visits and 2 lens changes later I asked for refund. Not only did they NOT care they proceeded to charge me 110 for "restocking fee" although the glasses were incorrect over and over again. I visited the Depoe Eye Center for the first time last week. It was a great experience. Dr. Baldwin was very thorough and explained in detail the images of my eyes. He also took great care of my elderly mother who had an eye exam following mine. The staff was wonderful, friendly, and extremely helpful when it came to choosing new eyewear. Had recently had cataract removal at different doctor and was unsatisfied with my current glasses so wanted to try Depoe. Staff was very understanding to my needs and concerns. Problems arose when my new glasses came in. I had new lenses placed in existing frames (which are only 6 months old) and was told I would need to go to Stockbridge location for installation. Okay, no problem. When the new lenses came in, (took 5 weeks and that was after I called and inquired) they called and asked me to come to Griffin location and they would do for me. Got there, gave them the glasses and they were brought out not 10 minutes later and put on my face and said "looked good"! No adjustments, no having me read anything to see if I could see, nothing! Got home and noticed the bottom of one lens was "jagged" to the touch and part of the lens was not in frame properly. Went back two weeks later and took my Maui Jim sunglasses to have them fitted with new lenses and have regular glasses adjusted to my face and fixed. When I mentioned my roughness on the bottom of the lens and the area not even being in correctly, she popped that in and said I would have to go to Stockbridge to have lens sanded and smoothed. She called manufacturer (Luxotica) and they would not remake! Then she took my Maui Jim's to start the process of getting me a price and sending to Maui Jim. Two days later, I get a call advising me to pick them up and that she had been told they would not send off for me. No price, no reason (and yes they deal in Maui Jim as I asked before I ever made appointment for regular glasses) just, "they told me we would not do it for you! What is with businesses these days? Are they so independent that they don't care if you ever return? Last time for this business! read more

I saw Dr Adam Depoe at this location and he was fantastic! Very good and thorough eye exam. My prescription had changed slightly and I needed a progressive lens this year. I met the Optician and she was fabulous about educating me on what type of lens I needed for my new glasses. I went back and picked up my glasses once they came in and to my surprise, they were perfect! I was a little afraid about the progressive lens at first but Jaime the Optician explained everything to a T and they work great. Literally the worst place. Had to wait at least 2 hours and then another 30 mins to 1 hour in the room. I got scolded repeatedly and rudely for not getting an eye exam often enough...I think i can control how often I get my eyes checked. They treated me like a 5 year old after making me wait hours during a work day. Do not go here! read more

Staff and doctor were very friendly & professional. The eyeglass selection was adequate, and an offer was made to bring in more if necessary. I still wear the glasses I purchased 3 years ago, and no scratches that I can see. I ref volleyball and occasionally get hit, so the lasting power of these lenses has been a pleasant surprise. read more

I do not recommend this doctor for young children or teens. The doctor is very short tempered and impatient. He is better suited for elderly patients. Also, avoid this doctor like the plague if you have ever slept in your contact...even once. He will become agitated, unprofessional and refuse treatment. read more

I have been with DePoe Eye Center for years. I have never went to Adam DePoe until the other day. But as a company overall. I really love this place. I went years ago, moved away and came back to GA, seven years later and they remembered me as if it was yesterday when I last came in. Great place. read more

I have no complaints at all! I love Dr DePoe! Very down to earth , and he makes you feel he is glad you are there. The staff is wonderful! I had to find another eye Dr. because my be retired, and the Griffin office is only about 15 from our house. I highly recommend Dr DePoe!!!! read more

Do not waste your time! I took 1/2 day off from work so that I could go to Depoe Eye Center for a morning appt. After explaining what I needed to have done in detail (a glaucoma check and the overall HEALTH of my eyes checked), I scheduled my appointment. After arriving for my appt I was told, sorry, we will not be able to do the eye check today because we didn't realize you wanted a glaucoma check. I was very upset because something is wrong with my vision besides just needing glasses/contacts. I had taken off time from work also. After leaving the office I called and asked for the office manager. This was no help as I was told there was no way they would be able to do the glaucoma check because the machine is not even in the Griffin office this week!! They evidently share a machine with another of their offices. The worst part is that she told me I could have had the overall health of my eyes checked even though the glaucoma check was not possible. I wish I had been told that before being sent away with nothing at all done for my eyes!! I will not ever go back to any of their locations again. read more

Not professional at all! I brought my 11 year old son there to get his eye exam.We made an appointment weeks before and got the first one available.We arrived before they even opened that morning.Now this place has a staff so I was surprised to find no one was there to let us in 20 minutes after they were to open! When a staff member finally let us in she offered no apologizes.On top of that my son was supposed to be first because of a final exam at school, which is why we made the appointment so early. It was pointless because the waiting room filled up fast and we had to wait almost a half hour to be seen. After being brought back to the exam room we were made to wait another 45 minutes! I got up went to the front desk to ask how much longer before we were to see the doctor, and the attitude was tart! I was told the doctor was in with another patient. So much for being the first appointment. Finally the Grand old doctor moseys in as if he was on vacation and gives us the exam. He was very vague about questions I had regarding my sons eye condition. He almost seemed annoyed because he felt like me asking him to come back there to give us the exam was being to pushy. I guess 45 minutes was not long enough to wait for him. After all that still was not able to select new glasses because we ran out of time. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The air of this business is very impersonal. I will not pay to be mistreated. The commercials are misleading they appear to offer friendly courteous service. However, Eye Depot is far from it. read more
