Went to the Bar Rescue Viewing Party tonight at Derby's. It was our first time there. It was enjoyable, but I was surprised that Jesse Vivanco the owner did not personally go around to greet the guests who came out. It's a small venue, and he could have easily met everyone during the commercial breaks, but he just sat at the bar with his back to the room. Our server was Ashleigh who was the one who was fired, so she's back. She was very attentive and pleasant. The other employees were friendly as well. We're new to Hemet (from OC) so we just commented "It's so Hemet" LOL read more

So I came in on a Thursday a few weeks ago and had a blast this chick Ashleigh was my bartender and she was fucking amazing she knew how to make all the shots I wanted and even recommend a few beers for my friends to try we came from San Dimas which is a mission and it's was more then worth it. Great atmosphere. Great service. The two pool tables are well maintained. Great special of 2 beers and 2 craft sandwiches for $9.95. Gives you a real hometown feel, where you feel instantly welcome. They cater to special events and parties, and heading next door to the roller rink will definitely make you feel like a kid again. Was visiting family and bored out of my mind.. thought I'd check out the local wild life on a Friday night around 11pm. 5 people in the whole place including myself, the karaoke dj, bartender, barback, drunk girl dancing by herself in the corner, and bouncer... Lots of changes to the bar with the help of the Bar Rescue TV reality show. The place looks great; the interior has been updated, the flat bread sandwich was hot and delicious, and the service was over the top. They have continued to make improvements not only to the bar but also the skating rink. read more

I have given this bar chances time and time again. Sometimes it is over crowed and others it is dead. I have many friends who go here and work here. So of course the staff is friendly!!! The best thing going for this bar is Karaoke. It needs to be spruced up!! The bathrooms smell and the toilet hardly flushes. The DJ on Friday night is not the greatest DJ they have had. Glad that fights dont break out every night, but it was one of the most interesting this about that place. Haha. This bar is close to my house so I do perfer this place over other places, but I wish the owner took a little more pride in the establishment. read more

Not my favorite bar in the area, but its decent. Depending on the day you go. Thursday night @10 pm it turns to a ghetto club scene instead of a kick-back pool hall. They have 3 tables. 2 in the main room, 1 in a side room. The side room gets pretty stuffy. Tables are not that great. They are free if you purchase drinks. As well they have a great craft beer selection including beers from Modern Times, Hanger 24 , and much more. I went into the bar last night to check it out after it's been redone. Not bad with the new upgrades. Personally I like what they did to it. What I didn't enjoy was my drink I had to ask for more juice in it, but what could have just been my taste. Also I've never been to a bar that served a PB&J, so that was different. My main concern was that I watched an employee drink before coming onto her shift. I watched the show so I do remember that being a problem, but I guess that didn't change. read more

I order the hot wings and pretzel with cheese dip the hot wings had a very good flavor but I ordered them crispy and they weren't they were soggy I don't like soggy hot wings. The pretzel stuck to the paper and I had to peel the paper off. I've never been before, I've only ever saw the bar from afar when going inside the wheelhouse as a kid. After seeing Bar Rescue, my family and I had to come in to check it out. I love it. This review is a recount of what my boyfriend and I experienced a few years ago, and based on this experience I will never be back, nor would I ever recommend anybody come here. We were harassed here by a group of regulars. We just came in to enjoy some pool and a few drinks, we noticed this group messing around but we did not interact with them. A guy that apparently is involved in the booking process for the bands that play live at the wheelhouse, from what he said, approached my boyfriend and I and started up a conversation, and we were happy to oblige. It seemed like he was pretty well known by the employees because he convinced the bartender to fix us a couple of free shots. We thought he was just trying to be friendly, but he had an ulterior motive. While he was chatting us up, the group of regulars were outside vandalizing my vehicle. They keyed the entire perimeter of my car a couple of times and attempted to tear my license plate off. We had never met these people in our entire lives. Seemingly, the only reason that guy was being so friendly and generous was to distract us from the destruction going on to my personal property. When we decided to leave, before we were aware of the vandalism, the entire group was waiting outside the bar to harass us. They followed us to my car and tried to start a fight. Like I said, we had never seen these people before. It was not until the next day that I saw all the damage done to my car and then I realized why that guy was being so friendly. When we went back to talk to the manager, or the individual claiming to be the manager, they blew us off. It was not their problem that my car was vanzalized. I do not know if the individuals that were involved in this incident still work here, or that those regulars still frequent this bar. The incident itself and reaction of the manager, or the individual that claimed to have been the manager, was enough for me to want to leave this review. Like I said, this happened a couple years ago and I do not know who works here anymore. And if that was not the manager we spoke to, whoops, they told us they were. All I can do is tell my side of the story and hope it spares others from ever having to share a similar experience. read more

To start when walking in there was an older man in probably his 80s smoking in front of the door whom I thought was a patron but after sitting at the bar for a few minutes he strolled in after finishing his smoke and was the bartender. Got warm beer and warm glasses. No music, no patrons, and after bar rescue came no changes except for paint. Oh and you can't get food until 8pm.
