My family and I started our road trip for Glacier National Park from approximately Austin, TX. Our truck, hauling our RV, wouldn't come out of overdrive by the time we got to Amarillo, and we were in a tough spot. We had RV park reservations for the trip, and were missing precious days of our long awaited vacation, as our truck was a sitting duck in Amarillo. Derrell came to inspect it where we were, and gave us guidance. He wasn't able to work a miracle of fixing the transmission on the spot, but he worked with us to take care of our truck, allowing us to rent a truck and continue our vacation. We picked up our truck with a new transmission on the way back through Amarillo. Derrell went the extra mile for us and that allowed us to take the vacation we'd been planning on, and get our truck in running order for the drive home. So I'm driving from New Jersey to San Diego in a 1970 chevelle and as I'm getting into Amarillo Texas the car blows all the oil out everywhere and I turn the car off. I found Derrels garage about a mile down the road off the 40 freeway I was on. They immediately found the issue (oil sending unit) and got me back on the road in less than an hour. Do not take your vehicle to the shop. The service writer Tom is a crook. They charged me $9,600 for parts I found the exact same parts for $3,900. They charge me $10,800 to repair 21 days later we were traveling we had to pay for room and board and food the entire time. Lie after lie after lie. I called another repair shop and they said they could do the exact same job for $6,000. Stay away from Daryl's. They are the worst I repeat the worst place you could take your vehicle. And all this is because of Tom. They did not do the right thing. After I found the parts that they charged me $9,600 for I found the same parts for under $4,000. Stay away from these people. If we could give them 10 stars we would! We were somewhat stranded after figuring out that a small radiator cap had blasted off in our motor home and was spewing fluid all over. We looked up Derrell's from the campground guide and he was extremely helpful. When my husband stopped by Derrell had a selection of caps that would probably work and would not take a dime for them, he just wanted us to get back on the road safely. You sure can get ripped off sometimes when you are on the road and helpless- Derrell's can restore your faith in knowing that there are some incredibly honest, caring and helpful people out there! ***WARNING*** If you have a DIESEL powered vehicle DO NOT take it to these guys!!!!!!! They are not capable of doing any real diagnostic work and had my truck for almost 3 weeks trying to figure out the problem - they finally said they figured it out and charged me $3300 for what should have been a $1000 job because of the hours they had trying to figure out the problem! But wait it gets better - they didn't even fix the issue - 500 miles down the road and the truck did the same thing, They lied about the work they did and now they WONT WARRANTY what they said they did to fix the problem. Save yourself the aggravation and don't go to this shop!!!!!!!
