Secure storage facility! My family was drawn to Derrel's Mini Storage because of their "Buy 6 months, get 6 months free" deal. Although their rates are definitely pricey, it is worth it for the added security. Every renter gets a personal code to use at the gate when entering the facility. Once you enter this unique code, it disarms the alarm system of your unit. If you fail to enter the code and your unit is opened, the alarm will trigger in the main office that is always staffed with someone watching the multitude of cameras around the facility. The units themselves are also very secure, with a chain pull, latch, and padlock. You have the option of buying a lock from them or brining your own. Regardless, I recommend a cut-proof lock for added security. When you leave, you enter your code again at the gate and it rearms your unit. The units themselves are very nice. There are a huge selection of size options. They are very clean and have pest management in place. In each unit and around the facility there are rat poison stations. They specified these are in place for prevention rather than treatment. The units also have a good structural quality. The wood is not rotted out, there are no leaks, no cobwebs or signs of pests, and no stains on the concrete slab. It seems like the temperature and humidity is well-maintained throughout too. The unit we selected did not feel overly humid or dry. I also appreciate the added chain to keep the garage doors held open when you're in the unit. My friend was killed in a car accident 2 months ago today. As executor of her will, her brother and I have contacted the district manager on 3 occasions and they won't let us collect her belongings( we have a key) . First they said no to her brother ( next of kin) because they told him that there was another person on the contract. He had the death certificate. Then I went in with the will and the office clerk said to get a note from a lawyer. When I asked what documentation I needed to get from the lawyer the district manager said I was threatening him. I followed through and had the lawyer draft a letter, went back today with the letter, the will and the death certificate and can still not get in. We want her belongings and photos for a celebration of life we are having in 25 days. This is ridiculous. DO NOT GO to this storage. Got a notice of late payment today. I'm on auto pay. Seems they changed systems. All good but then they charge a late fee, talk about crooked! Honestly think they did it on purpose. No advisory note there would be a payment issue as they change just a late charge. Proof that they can't do what is right is in their response. I believe the communication could be better. I have had my RV catalytic converter attempted to be stolen. The facility knew of the thefts, 8 were stolen . I feel they could have notified the renters their facility was afftected. I went to get my RV in order to leave for my trip, and found the damage., and was needing repairs. Not the way to attempt to start a trip. Less than six weeks later, the facility was affected again by thieves stealing the Cataylic converters, yet again no notifications to renters their trailers/rv were afftected . This time my RV was affected again severely. This time the thieves got away with my catalyic, causing major damage. Damages were found only Upon arrival at the facility to retrieve my RV for trip. I had to speak with staff about the damages and inquired of recent thefts which they confirmed had transpired. Now I am stuck in the water, supply chain issues for the catalytic. I just feel they know how to contact via email for payments, they have a limited number of RV's there with Catalytics, they should be able to communicate to owners of any issues that may affect their property that is stored there. read more

This place has the worst business practices. Rampant with feral cats that spray your vehicles, not secure and wont return a call. They not only over charge, they are closed on holidays. Doesn't make much sense for an RV. We work too hard to earn our money; you should never have to work that hard to give it away!! read more

THEY DO NOT FOLLOW COVID PROTOCOL. NO MASKS. The man who came to fix the light in my storage was NOT wearing a mask and was NOT social distancing, even when I asked him to. The manager is extremely rude. When I called for maintenance, she answered the phone "Well, who are you?" When I called to complain about the maintenance man not social distancing from me (he physically blocked me into my storage and only moved after the second time I asked, breathing towards me with no mask) the manager YELLED at me and blamed me for not moving. Will not deal with this mini storage place again Angela is one of the rudest people I have ever met. They closed out my storage shed and sent my check back to me without my signature or permission to close it out. I had nothing stored in there (fortunately) for two weeks and had taken the lock off. They zip tied the door and told my husband they had no record of me ever renting there. When my husband told the employee the space number, she said " we don't have a space with that number" My husband drove in, opened the door to the space, saw it was empty, and drove back to tell the employee that he had just looked inside the space that she said didn't exist. She said "Oh I found her name, we closed out the acct." My husband informed her that we had paid for the month, we'd never been late paying before, and they had no right to just close out the account with no cause. She told him that I had signed off on it, pulled out the signature card and saw that there was NO signature! I came in today to show her it had been paid and ask why it was closed. She was on the phone with another customer. (being rude) She interrupted me EVERY time I started a sentence, she yelled at me for not having a lock on my shed, threw the pamphlet at me and told me to read the rules, and then told me they don't need customers like me. Because I asked why they had closed my account and told her she was being very rude to a me as a customer. There's plenty of other storage places in town...give someone else your business!! We have been renting units at this facility since November 2021, as we were moving into our new home. We started with 3, and are now down to 1 unit. Ron & Rita have been great, assisting us with our initial rentals, and now as we are consolidating down into one unit. They keep the facility well maintained and clean, and are always willing to assist us when we come into the office. read more

If you're looking for a safe and clean place to store your belongings then this is definitely the place. However, the management and security on site are HORRIBLE people. They are mean and nasty. They are very rude and unprofessional. They do not care about their customers for every person renting is just another money sign to keep their business going. Also, don't bother making a complaint against them because as I was told, "the customer is not always right." Their justification: "If customers complain and/or are rude to us we have the right to be rude and nasty also." I have never been treated so poorly in a business before. Due to their expansion, they evicted over 40 of the RV renters. We never got our letter until three days AFTER the deadline. The clock started ticking on the day they wrote the letter. By accident, we were at the lot in time to remove our trailer, but we were treated terribly. The managers are rude and nasty. They seemed to really want to tow our trailer. "This isn't our fault. It is all corporate decisions." Well, yes, but take some responsibility. The corporate office will not return our phone calls. Just because it is legal, doesn't mean it is right. We were required to pay a year in advance, but will need to wait 2- 3 months for a refund! I will never do business with this company ever again. If I could sue I would. In the meanwhile I'll make a report to the BBB. read more
