We've been seeing Dr. Derrick for years-since his Simpsonville days and we wouldn't trade him for anyone else. Dr. Derrick is kind, knowledgeable and compassionate. His presence puts you at ease the moment he walks in the room and I cannot say enough great things about his staff. They are so caring and will help with any questions/concerns you have. The downtown office really gives off such a great vibe. This is not the cold, clinical setting of the past. In my opinion, 5 stars is not enough for Dr. Derrick and his staff. read more

I have been going to Brian for almost 8 years now. (I know him so well I call him by his first name.) He is simply the best dentist I have ever had. His office is convenient in downtown and it is beautiful. The staff and hygienists are always super friendly. Overall, my teeth are healthy for my age, but my gums are very sensitive. I had a crown break (I only have one) and eery time I have needed any kind of drilling or other operation in my mouth, I have always endured great pain. Not so with Dr Derrick. Stay away from this place at all costs! Very unprofessional, liars, and poor services. Got a crown done here in the past, the crown ended up falling out, this place refused to fix the problem which was caused due to their poor services, they wanted to charge me full price for their mistake. This is not the first time I had a problem with my crown falling out, within a 2 year time frame my crown has came out at least 3-4 times which is unacceptable I know crowns suppose to last approximately 5-15 years. I went to a previous dentist before for a crown & never had this consistent problem. Only decided to go here for a more affordable price at the time. Not to mentioned the crown didn't come with any warranty, which I never heard of anything like that before especially for a major service. There's definitely BETTER dentists out there who is more KNOWLEDGEABLE about crowns & implants to consider going to instead of this place. This place is definitely a joke, not RELIABLE at all & most definitely not considerate about their MISTAKES when it comes to correcting them, services is awful. Dr. Derrick and his team are fantastic. I have a lot - like, A LOT - of old dental work in my mouth. I'm nearing 50, so, like me, the work is aging, and over time that dental work just breaks down. This background is to say - the services I get here are not just the usual preventive or cosmetic dental services, but maintaining and repairing an aging mouth and aging dental work. And, in all these categories, Falls Park Dentistry is among the best dentists I've ever seen. What particularly matters to me personally, with all my old dental work, is that Dr. Derrick has excellent judgment and gives very good recommendations. He doesn't do just any and every job himself, just to make the money from providing the service; he knows when it's best to send you to a specialist for the work needed. This is huge! When a dentist does work that's higher-risk for a non-specialist, you the patient run the risk that it fails down the road, and when it does, you have much more significant work in front of you as a result - more expense, trouble, and pain. I've learned this lesson the hard way from prior dentists who I trusted but it turns out didn't have this judgment. Dr. Derrick does. I'll be sticking with him as long as I'm able. The office is extremely clean, bright and modern, and the staff are very friendly. I can usually get an appointment to be seen pretty quickly. I wish they weren't downtown since I have to trek down there for an appointment, but, it's still worth the minor trouble, and I can usually find street parking with an easy walk to the office on Washington or Coffee street. Up until the last few weeks, I would have agreed with the previous postings here. After being extremely satisfied with this dentist and his staff for well over 2 years, and sending over three friends there on referral, a new front office manager was hired. This is when it all fell apart. This individual is a most rude, unprofessional person. My first impression of her was when she was confused about our insurance billing. I've been in the insurance industry for over a decade, so I walked her through it step by step, she argued the whole time. We then left her our credit card info to charge once she sorted through the mess she was making. She failed to take my advice about the insurance, proceeded to complain about having to rebill to correct her mistake, lost our credit card information, and called me a difficult client. (I'm only difficult when you're messing with my bank account balance) On the morning of our follow up visit a week later, she called our house at 7:30 AM like a collection agent and told my wife that she wouldn't be seen until we paid our balance (which our credit card was left with her a week earlier to take care of)......this is when we learned she lost our CC info. I cancelled all follow ups, and left the doctor a message to call me back so that we could solve this issue to retain my business; we received no return call. I then had a letter detailing our experience hand delivered to him, again he made no attempt to communicate. I had at least hoped the dentist cared about how his patients were treated. I assume I was wrong. If you are going to pay cash, I think this is a good practice overall. However, if you will use insurance RUN to another dentist office as quickly as you can. You do not want to deal with the individual running the front of the house. read more

I never thought I'd review a dentist. Dr. Derrick and Falls Park Dentistry are simply that good. I have avoided dentists for the past ten years. Finally, because of a little tooth pain, I went in to go see them. My first impression was that it was not the dentist of my youth. Clean and inviting space with character (no clinical bland here, friends!). The hygienist was very kind and courteous. Dr. Derrick was very personable and professional. The pain was shown to be a cavity. Quelle horreur! As a kid, there were a few cavities that were filled- this was nothing like the times as a kid. Between Dr. Derrick's knowledge and the state of the art equipment - it was very easy and virtually painless. If you hate going to the dentist - try FPD and you might just be surprised at how easy they make your visit. read more

I loved everything about this place. The woman who cleaned my teeth and did my x-rays was phenomenal, and very gentle! The only discomfort I had at all was the thing any dentist has to put in your mouth to get the x-rays. The dentist sat down after his exam of my mouth and went over my x-rays and everything with me. He was also very friendly. Also, dentists have a tendency in my experience to tear you apart, but he didn't. The office is very clean too, and the waiting room is a nice place to wait, not like any other dentist waiting room I've ever been in. I have nothing but good things to say about Falls Park Dentistry and would recommend them to anyone! read more

I was a patient here for about 4 years. I came in every 6 months for cleanings. I loved the entire staff and facility. Unfortunately about 6 months ago, they kept telling me I no longer had dental insurance, which was incorrect. I started going to another dentist, which verified that I have FULL dental coverage. My new dentist office also informed me that I have periodontal disease, which should have been caught by the hygienist and dentist at Falls Park, but went ignored. Thankfully, my new dentist office has begun treatment on me, and I am finally seeing a difference in the health of my teeth. I am extremely disappointed with Falls Park Dentistry. read more

My 12 year old and I both go to Falls Park Dentistry and highly recommend them. I have had several old fillings that needed to be replaced with crowns and was really pleased with their service. After reading the other reviews, I have little left to say, except "ditto" on all the positive feedback. This is no ordinary dental group. It's a gift. I was ready to give up, cuz other dentists I have been to screwed up more than they repaired! Repaired teeth out of order which created a dysfunctional bite, for one, not to mention the debt incurred. Patient, kind, a Great listener, informative. He will Not do more than is absolutely necessary, for the almighty dollar. I have not been treated this fairly by anyone in any of the medical professions. Wonderful group, great location, lovin' downtown G'ville just gave me another reason to go...called friends and had a great meal Afterwards. How do you beat that? Definitely 5 star service across the board at Falls Park. The office has a beautiful, elegant Main St - near Coffee St location. I have no work/life connection to downtown but have never had a problem parking in the area and plenty of convenient bars to provide you with any necessary pre or post office medicinal libations. If you are downtown, it's a no brainer. The office staff are top notch, quick very professional and super warm/welcoming/friendly. Everything from the moment you walk in the door to the time you leave is handled quickly and well. I've had 3 visits now - just cleaning - and never waited more than a few minutes. I have a very crowded, calculus-filled mouth, fortunately full of very hard cavity-free teeth but cleanings are always extensive and involve the "cavitron". The hygienist at Fall Park does as good a job as anyone I've ever had - quick, careful and thorough. I won't say it's a pleasure but certainly competent and caring work. Fortunately have not had much to do with Dr Derrick but he's a very friendly and no-nonsense capable professional. He came highly recommended by a professional colleague of mine and I understand why. He has created a very well run, convenient, patient-centered practice that I recommend very highly.
