From the moment walking onto the property everything aligns. Hospitality, cleanliness, peace, comfort, community, beautiful rooms and lush landscaping that makes this rare desert oasis magic. The added delicious food, snacks, afternoon popsicles and the hours floating in the pool truly delight. It's truly an energy and a sanctuary to experience.

Perfect stay. The communication and service from the team is top notch. Pool and spa were great. Other guests were really friendly. Pool is bathing suit optional. Seems that surprised at least one guest. :)

I can go on and on about this place. It's our go to whenever we're in the desert. Service is always amazing and the details of everything, that's why we're always back.... It's not a big property but is packed with everything. About 16 rooms. I love that they'll text you to see what your arrival time will be. It's nice in a sense that they see what they can do to accommodate your room availability. If it isn't ready, you're always welcome to come and utilize the property and pool until it's ready. Your luggage can be held while you relax. Another amazing perks about this place, they have a 24 hour cantina that offers soda, water, Starbucks coffee, cookies, popcorn, fruit and so on. Ice maker is there as well. A mini snack shop/kitchen. Not only that, continental breakfast every morning between a certain time. Take it to your room, have it by the pool or tables. Fresh fruit salad, parfait, croissant, bagels, fruits, muffins, eggs and different protein choices that's different each day. Also the selection of juices. During the weekend, there's the mimosas and champagne cart that's self serve. The perks to this place. Lounges are always nice. Very thick and plush. Umbrellas are scattered throughout the pool area. To top things off, they come around with popsicle both with and without alcohol. Yumm when it's hot. And cold eucalyptus towels for your face. If that isn't amazing service. Lunch is also included. Just place your order by a certain time and it's delivered around 12:30. The rooms are all pretty big, nice king sized bed which is quite comfortable. A nice modern and mid century feel to it. Rooms does have a separate seating area and well as a workspace. Nice plush bathrrobes are also in the room as well as a fridge. Service is always excellent. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Even the guest, everyone becomes friends during the stay. Will be back again soon.

Impeccably clean and welcoming heated pool.

Once again, Descanso is our Go-To resort in Palm Springs. It IS EVERYTHING you want in a getaway resort: beautiful surroundings; comfortable accommodation; luxurious amenities; and above all - helpful and charming staff, whose only concern is to make sure you feel well cared for. When locals ask where we're staying, the response is always "Excellent choice!" It's the only place for me.

Our stay at Descanso Resort exceeded all expectations. On our way Charles sent us a welcoming text message, he was responsive in answering my questions about an EV charging station (which they have) and he met us at the gate upon our arrival. He gave us a tour of the property and showed us to our room. Upon entering we found a tin of Brandini's Toffee, candle and birthday card to celebrate my partner's birthday (thank you Charles)! The saline pool is maintained at 90 degrees and the jacuzzi is warm and relaxing. The guests were all friendly and low-key and a continental breakfast is provided every morning at 8:00 a.m. (thank you Bob and Vlad) and a lunch from Aspen Bakery at 12:30 p.m. (pre-ordered by 11:00 a.m.) and wine time is Thur-Sat at 4:00 p.m. (thank you Dustin) and mimosas are served every Sunday morning. We've stayed at Santiago (pre-pandemic) and plan to check out Twin Palms, but Descanso is definitely our speed (relaxed, quiet, mature, and comfortable "Au Naturel")

My go to hotel in PS. I always have a wonderful and relaxing time at Descanso! We visited for my buds birthday and they were kind enough to provide him a card and a gift, which was very nice of them. They have an Awesome staff that takes care of the guests and keeps the property clean, and they provide a nice, simple breakfast as well as a "to order" lunch from one of the local deli's that is included in the fee. Highly recommended!

Curious whether the resort is clothing optional poolside only or everywhere on property?

It's not a big resort. I think only about 20 rooms on 2 levels. Once you are out your door you are poolside. You can go without clothes everywhere, although I think it's kinda uncool to go into the Cantina without clothes. The only other place there…

Are there any sauna, steam room?

Hi Eric, although we do not have those items on property, we do have this great list we give to guests who are looking for a spa day! https://descansoresort.com/2022/04/mens-day-spas-palm-springs/ - Hope that helps!

We were able to go to the pools late at night and early in the morning and it was nice to have the room right there. We saw a few people who just got the day spa passes asking about the rooms and expressing regret that they hadn't just booked rooms here. Everything was really nice including the staff and service when we ordered food and drinks near the poolside. The skyline is beautiful and to be there on July 4th, we could see the fireworks in various parts of the sky. There is plenty of parking but it is a little odd of a location as it is mainly in a residential neighborhood with a few options for food. The property is perfectly maintained and rooms have been nicely updated. Our last trip was perfect. It was our first trip with a newborn which was nerve wracking. We had called in advance and requested our rooms be ready early, and that our rooms be near my parents room since they were traveling with us. I have made similar requests at other Bonvoy properties before and have almost always been severely disappointed. That was not the case here. Our rooms were ready when we arrived at noon, and we even received an upgrade due to our Bonvoy status. The front desk manager was so professional and kind! I was blown away when we arrived in our room and they had left the sweetest gifts for our son since it was his first trip. Touches like this are what make the Ritz Carlton brand legendary. Our entire stay was excellent. We enjoyed the pool and had the best service for drinks and lunch. We celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Edge. Given the value of this item, that response is not sufficient. A property at this level should have a clear, documented lost-and-found process with accountability, rather than relying on informal follow-up. We paid over $600 for a one-night stay. The level of urgency and communication so far does not reflect the seriousness of the situation. I am requesting that management conduct a formal review, including verification with housekeeping, review of lost-and-found records, and any applicable security procedures, and provide a direct, documented follow-up.

I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. I left off one star because there are definitely areas of improvement that could be made but not enough to ruin my experience.

There are 10 rooms available and each one is a different theme in the 1950s. I stayed for two nights in the Crooners room and I enjoyed my stay a lot. When I arrived, Tim, the inn keeper assisted me with my room keys and showing me around the property. My room was decorated with the Rat Pack and I loved it. All rooms are a maximum of two people with a hot tub, refrigerator with water, microwave, and coffee maker, air conditioning, and DVD player. If you'd like, bring a DVD and popcorn to enjoy during your stay. The bed was pretty comfortable. There were more than enough pillows which I'm guilty of using more than one pillow while I sleep. I love how the comforter was linen on the outside, but cozy and warm on the inside. The Crooners room has two sinks, but I only used one. There is happy hour everyday at 5pm by the pool or communal area with snacks and beer or wine. During my stay there were chips and salsa and the following day was veggies with dip, with of course a drink of choice. Really nice touch added to my stay. It's been a while since I have stayed in a bed and breakfast and I love the homeyness here. Breakfast is served in the communal dining area with hand sanitizer provided. The three-course breakfast starts with a fruit smoothie, a fruit parfait and a hot breakfast. For breakfast they served blueberry pancakes with sausage and the following day it was quiche with artichoke hearts and potatoes. I loved the service here so much. You sit at a table and they serve the food to you. The pool is open 24 hours will pool floaties available to use as well. Another thing I like about this place is that because there aren't many people (max 40 people at a time) it is highly likely you will get the pool to yourself. When I checked out and left the property I told my husband I would enjoy staying here again. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend you stay here too.

There's a Starbucks right inside though, which was clutch in the mornings. The property is spread out, so they have golf carts running around to shuttle you between buildings, which is a nice touch if you don't feel like walking. I stayed in a king room and it was clean and comfortable with a nice patio. Friends of ours were in one of the villas and those were really nice, way more space if you're traveling with a group. I had to book a night ( wish we coulda stay longer than one night) but I booked our stay just so I can check it out for myself, this August 2026 I can finally cross this off my bookmarks & this JW will be on my list to visit again in the future. It was a dream come true from watching all the reels and being here in live in real life! This place is simply amazing! Prior to checking in we rode the boat around the lake, such a fun 15 minute boat ride on the property, then we checked in. If you are a fan of "Saved By The Bell", Jesse father's wedding was filmed here. I called & made reservations for the boat ride, $10. per person on weekends & $ 5. on weekdays. Happy there is a Marriott Elite check in counter which I utilized and wait wasn't too long, staff (she just started 3 months, sorry for not getting your name) who checked me in was so nice, she was helpful with giving us all the room & check in info. We also got bellman to assist with luggage, he was so awesome, also shared some tips with us. I booked the Griffith suite, which is a one bedroom suite. I was hoping for an upgrade with my elite status and so sad- I can't do the late check out which was offered since we got a tight schedule. I wasn't amazed by our room but more amazed with the atmosphere and just happy that we are here, our balcony view were palm trees which was a great photo opt. There is a daily resort fee of $45. + tax, which includes: daily fitness classes for 2 guests, daily golf range access + range balls for 2 guests, daily miniature golf for up to 4 guests, daily 2-hour bike rental for 2 guests, daily 1- hour tennis court + racquet rental for 2 guests, daily 1-hour pickleball court equipment for 2 guests, daily fish feeding activity, enhanced high-speed wifi. Parking/valet charges are separate. The daily resort fee was worth it for all the activities, but visiting Palm Springs in August, which I don't recommend, the temperature was in the 3 digits. We did ride the bike for 20 mins and enjoyed the pool for a bit during our stay. It was too hot to explore the premises. All in all, I Loved our super short stay, I got our photos in, it was truly a memorable stay and that lobby was so breathtaking. I am grateful & thankful everyday for my life! Totally recommend when visiting Palm Springs .

Soooooo. 5 stars with a caveat. You're gonna pay... and pay.. nothing here is inexpensive. But if…read moreyou have the extra $$ it's worth every penny. So what differentiates this from other Palm Springs area resorts? The service, by far. The property is phenomenal and the upkeep and maintenance is good, on par with other places. For example, at the pool, we found straws from the previous guest, etc. not a deal breaker, but something to observe. But everyone I interacted with genuinely seemed like they wanted us to have a good time. If it was fake, it was very good acting. From the valet to check in, amazing! Javier checked us in. 7 out of 5. Stress free. The pool area, 8 out of 5. Off the charts. Attention management: I stay at a lot of hotels and resorts. And though I'm sometimes overly generous with my ratings, I can honestly say Dru is the best server I've had, ever. She should run the joint! I wish I could give her a raise. Evan was pretty bad ass too and should be commended! Will I be back? 100 percent. Amazing property, rooms are great, staff is awesome. Food is good, but avoid the breakfast buffet at Rockwood. $40 for powdered eggs is no bueno! Other than that, you'll love it here!
