Breakfast is included, with several choices, but my favorite was the chilled oats..OUTSTANDING! Chris and his staff go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and happy. I especially appreciated the clothing optional aspect, and felt very comfortable being myself. If you are looking for a smaller place, with a very chill atmosphere, look no further. 100% recommend for a great escape. The weather was perfect for us but - the Resort feels like a small, family run business and is perfect that way. We visited in February (2/14) and met some great guests in the jacuzzi and really bonded. The rooms are clean and gives that 60's modernism feel. Micro & refrig included and unlimited snacks. We extended our stay and they were able to move us to a larger room. Bed - comfy / Room - spacious / Facilities - clean and kept up. We will return again as it was very relaxing. And.. Carson was the perfect Host. Oh - light breakfast is served each morning and is made to order. 10's across the board!!! read more

While this property has lovely grounds, I wouldn't consider it a resort. The rooms are adequate; however, they need gut renovations. The grounds are beautiful, appearing to have been renovated recently except for the jacuzzi, which is in desperate need of resurfacing and equipment upgrade so that stronger jets and warmer temperatures can be enjoyed. We did experience a mosquito issue, which was likely due to a broken sprinkler head and a fountain that was not functioning effectively. I will say that the staff's hospitality was excellent. Ben, Carson, Christopher, and most importantly, George the turtle, were friendly and attentive. Overall, my opinion of The Desert Paradise is that it is a pleasant and reasonably priced motel in a lovely setting. I would stay here again. I've given this four-star rating due to the quality of the rooms and the issue with mosquitoes. I had other photos to post, but Yelp wouldn't upload them. read more

I've been coming to this resort almost every year, sometimes a couple times a year, for nearly 24 years. When I was 18, my friends and I had just got done with a night at VIP in riverside, And decided we needed to drive to Palm Springs to keep the party going. We came to warm sands and knocked on every door until a resort finally let us in, and it was Desert Paradise. I've been coming back ever since. Of course now I'm grateful they are not routinely letting in crazy teenagers because it's truly the serene garden atmosphere of the courtyard that I've come to love now. You can have your crazy Palm Springs party, and come back here to chill. Yes, there are often busy times with guys hanging around having fun. But it's not as "busy" as the other resorts. It's chill. It's nice. It's relaxing. Truly a vacation. And I've been coming back ever since. Although part of me will always miss the diva themed rooms and I often wonder where those portraits all ended up. The staff here is always friendly and accommodating. They want you to have a nice relaxing vacation too. It's been my Palm Springs home for years and I just hope it doesn't turn into another straight resort like some of the other places. read more

This is a low profile cute resort, very friendly staff (Chris and Carson). I've been to few gay resorts around Palm Springs (INNdulge, Vista Grande, Santiago, CCBC) Quality wise I would say this one is very similar to INNdulge. Ground layout is similar to Santiago (but single story). This was my first time here, the steam room was being renovated and the hot pool was going to be resurfaced the following week. There was a dry sauna but I didn't use it. So hopefully they will be updated next time I am there. A little TLC is needed, but still worth trying. The vibes are relaxed and chill, continental breakfast is provided. Snacks are provided at the room. Theres also a soda cooler next to the pool available. read more

What a fabulous resort with incredible personal attention! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and catered to. Christopher and his staff genuinely cared about our experience and pulled out all the stops, and the other guests were great to get to know as well! The rooms and grounds are clean, and we made fast friends with the resident turtle, George (she/her). After a nasty rare desert storm caused a power outage, Christopher rushed to get flashlights for all the guests. And the breakfast!! Make your order 8-10 a.m. and have it delivered poolside or to your room! They had choices from different flavors of cereal, oatmeal, yogurt and bagels with toppings of our choice and much more. And don't miss the Saturday afternoon happy hour and meet your neighbors--they can be VERY friendly and make your stay extra special. We had a wonderful time despite a rare cold/rainy weekend, and can't wait to come back--we'll never stay anywhere else in PS but Desert Paradise!! read more

We just spent a week here and it was wonderful. The pool and spa were heated at just the right temperature for those chilly mornings. The rooms were clean and refreshed every day, the beds were comfortable, they provided robes for each guest, and the service was great. Rick is the best helper and should be given a raise for how efficient and courteous he is. He always made sure we had everything we needed and even asked us if we needed items for breakfast that we had been enjoying every morning, but we had forgotten to include them on our breakfast request. He gave us recommendations and contact info for people in town. Carson is the best host. He is so nice, sweet, and helpful. He helped us download some paperwork that we needed and provided assistance very promptly for a minor issue with our room. Ely was great as well. He works very hard to keep things running smoothly. The grounds are secure, private, and well maintained. There are plenty of spaces to lounge and meet other guests. They have a firepit that is lit every evening with a duraflame log. It provides a great ambiance to the property. I wish it were gas lit and lasted a bit longer, but no big deal. The clientel skews older, which was great for us. We met many wonderful people while we were there. We swam and lounged in the sun au natural. Some guests wore swimwear, but most were perfectly fine walking around in the provided robes or with nothing at all. It was all good. We have stayed at other resorts in Palm Springs, and the staff makes this place special. I hope the owner(s) read this and try to keep the staff happily employed. We will definitely be back. I'm a little late writing this review. Spent a week here after Thanksgiving - and it was awesome! This is not the first time my husband I stayed here and will not be the last. We like Desert Paradise, first because of Carson and Rick. They really strive to make sure your stay is amazing! Both are so friendly and outgoing. They even say hi if they see you out in the bars on Arenas Road! Rooms are nice and clean. I worked from here, remotely, during the week, and it was very easy. WiFi works well! Pool is heated as is the hot tub. I also love the outdoor shower. And the other guests we've met over several stays are people we're still in touch with. In fact this time we ran into someone we met there a few years ago. We also enjoy the breakfast each morning. I do mis the shared outdoor refrigerator by the pool and the in room welcome snacks, but that's small stuff compared to how great a boutique resort this is. We are already trying to figure out when we can head back! Once again, hats off to Carson and Rick! read more

Okay, so I'm the worst. I never book my Coachella rooms early and always get stuck. However, I found that the gay resorts generally have rooms available at decent rates in Palm Springs. I know my company probably makes fun of me for staying at these, but what the hell. This one I liked. The owners were nice. They had a pretty good breakfast spread that had all the carbs you will ever want. Clothing optional -- and many of the older clientele took advantage of it. I sat in the jacuzzi. As long-time visitors of Palm Springs with a "favorite resort" we would always stay at, we were a bit apprehensive when our friends booked a room at an unfamiliar establishment and suggested we stay there, as well. Apprehension gave way to blessed relief once we finally arrived at the Desert Paradise Resort Hotel. Even if the staff hadn't been incredibly friendly and helpful (which they were!), or the price just right (which it was!), the grounds themselves would been more than enough to rate the Desert Paradise highly. The twelve-or-so rooms face the pool and hot tub area, with ample lounge chairs and covered seating areas to fit any guest's tastes. As someone who enjoys the sun but burns easily, I loved how there was always a way to escape its rays and rest in the shade. Other resorts seem to have very few havens from the sun, so this was VERY appreciated. But don't worry! If sun is your thing, you'll never be far from it at any time, as my husband (who worships the heat) was able to stay in full sunlight the entire day if he chose! Really the best of both worlds! Short footpaths from the main area connect to a covered massage table and outdoor shower (with hot water, thank god!) on one side, and a smoking/grilling area on the other. Fountains, lush greenery, and palms break up the area, giving the feeling that you're tucked away in a cozy little personal oasis no matter where you are in the resort. Because of its dozen rooms, the resort feels intimate, allowing you to really get to know the guests you're staying with. A Friday night social hour helps break the ice, and before our stay was over, we felt we'd already made some wonderful new friends we couldn't wait to see again. Personal highlights for me were showering beneath the stars after a moonlit swim, and swinging to-and-fro in the large hammock on a warm night as I stared at the up-lit palm trees. If you're looking for a small, affordable, and wonderful place to stay in Palm Springs, look no further than the Desert Paradise Resort Hotel. It's memorable because at Desert Paradise you will be welcomed to beautiful grounds, wonderful staff that makes u feel at home from the very beginning to the end. The ambiance in this resort is pure peace and relaxation while being surrounded be nature. Jeff that is the manager is extremely nice and will go above and beyond to ensure a happy stay and Carson is beyond lovely always being helpful, making us so smiles every time we see him and they both make every stay so spectacular. What a delightful little rough gem in the gay desert. First time visit to Palm Springs. This is exactly my kinda place: clean, artful, affordable, funky, friendly, and safe. My experiences here echo previous reviews. Cute, spotless rooms have every amenity you'd ever need: wet bar with fridge, sink, microwave, and coffee maker. AC and fan in my room ("Cher") performed with excellence. Very functional. Rooms were quiet, with good insulation. Didn't hear neighbors. Yes, the property is "dated" -- and so am I! The saltwater pool and in-ground Jacuzzi are welcoming and fabulous. Clean water. At 101 degrees, the spa might have been hotter, but this is the desert, so maybe no. Didn't try the steam room or sauna, but would expect that they are maintained equivalently. Landscaped grounds are clearly a love of labor for the owner. Beautiful. Sometimes tacky. OK -- really funny and inappropriate for nuclear families. The Penis Fountain belongs in the Smithsonian after this property expires. About the naked thing. I'm no stranger to gay-owned accommodations globally. Most are clothing-optional. This place is low-key, age skews to older like me, and when in Rome... you just get over it. Liberating. Very friendly guests. But doesn't have a desperate, bathouse vibe. I felt comfortable Loved the relaxing ambient, new age spa music, and waterfall sounds. I booked a stay here as a surprise for my husband's birthday. After scouring a ton of reviews of a lot of places in the Warm Sands area, one word kept coming up with Desert Paradise... RELAXING! That it was!! As this was our first stay in a clothing optional environment, I was looking for something that didn't feel like a bath house. There are plenty of those in the area if that's what you're looking for, but Desert Paradise is definitely not that. It truly felt like a hotel where clothing is simply, optional. They don't offer day passes as with other resorts, so everyone there is actually staying at the hotel. As older guys without six-pack abs, I was a little nervous about feeling intimidated, but that feeling was soon gone as the guests were all ages, shapes and sizes. It's a small resort, so there are many opportunities to actually talk to the other guests in or around the pool and connect with others. At the end of the weekend we exchanged phone numbers with another couple from out of state and hope to keep in touch. Dale and Ron couldn't be nicer and more professional. From the booking to checkout, and everything in between, it was an extremely pleasant experience. Thanks for your hospitality guys! (And thanks Ron, for the cheesy jokes!) The grounds are very nice and well maintained, and the saltwater pool was heaven. My husband wished the water temperature was a little cooler, but it was perfect for me. The hot tub is maintained at a comfortable temperature at which one could sit in there long after the jet timer clicks off. The "spa music" streaming outside during the day was a nice touch for relaxing in the lush tropical feel of the grounds. The rooms were very clean and nicely appointed. We stayed in one of the two larger two-room suites (The Presidential Suite) and it was everything I had hoped for. The wet bar came in handy for storing cocktail supplies we brought from home. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were clean and not stained in any way. The bathroom was well lit and had plenty of storage, though the shower was too small to fit two. Towels provided were quality. Clean pool sized towels are provided in the room daily. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and well worth the money. We definitely plan on staying there again.
