While this property has lovely grounds, I wouldn't consider it a resort. The rooms are adequate; however, they need gut renovations. The grounds are beautiful, appearing to have been renovated recently except for the jacuzzi, which is in desperate need of resurfacing and equipment upgrade so that stronger jets and warmer temperatures can be enjoyed. We did experience a mosquito issue, which was likely due to a broken sprinkler head and a fountain that was not functioning effectively. I will say that the staff's hospitality was excellent. Ben, Carson, Christopher, and most importantly, George the turtle, were friendly and attentive. Overall, my opinion of The Desert Paradise is that it is a pleasant and reasonably priced motel in a lovely setting. I would stay here again. I've given this four-star rating due to the quality of the rooms and the issue with mosquitoes. I had other photos to post, but Yelp wouldn't upload them.

I've been coming to this resort almost every year, sometimes a couple times a year, for nearly 24 years. When I was 18, my friends and I had just got done with a night at VIP in riverside, And decided we needed to drive to Palm Springs to keep the party going. We came to warm sands and knocked on every door until a resort finally let us in, and it was Desert Paradise. I've been coming back ever since. Of course now I'm grateful they are not routinely letting in crazy teenagers because it's truly the serene garden atmosphere of the courtyard that I've come to love now. You can have your crazy Palm Springs party, and come back here to chill. Yes, there are often busy times with guys hanging around having fun. But it's not as "busy" as the other resorts. It's chill. It's nice. It's relaxing. Truly a vacation. And I've been coming back ever since. Although part of me will always miss the diva themed rooms and I often wonder where those portraits all ended up. The staff here is always friendly and accommodating. They want you to have a nice relaxing vacation too. It's been my Palm Springs home for years and I just hope it doesn't turn into another straight resort like some of the other places.

Coffee by (or in) the pool every morning was heaven!

I'm a little late writing this review. Spent a week here after Thanksgiving - and it was awesome! This is not the first time my husband I stayed here and will not be the last. We like Desert Paradise, first because of Carson and Rick. They really strive to make sure your stay is amazing! Both are so friendly and outgoing. They even say hi if they see you out in the bars on Arenas Road! Rooms are nice and clean. I worked from here, remotely, during the week, and it was very easy. WiFi works well! Pool is heated as is the hot tub. I also love the outdoor shower. And the other guests we've met over several stays are people we're still in touch with. In fact this time we ran into someone we met there a few years ago. We also enjoy the breakfast each morning. I do mis the shared outdoor refrigerator by the pool and the in room welcome snacks, but that's small stuff compared to how great a boutique resort this is. We are already trying to figure out when we can head back! Once again, hats off to Carson and Rick!

The nature lover in me was excited to see and hear so much wildlife at the resort.

Meet my friend from out of town at Desert Paradise and was completely in love with the wildlife and all around appearance of this little oasis resort. The room was fine and the staff was friendly. I wasn't there for the men but was completely thrilled with how my little day and a half felt like a week at a relaxing spa. My phototherapy was in high gear with so much to photograph. Good times were had and will definitely visit again.

Even the hotel grounds are excited to see you

They apologized as they were really busy and gave us food credits to use for dinner but this is unacceptable for a hotel that charges thousands per night. We were there only for a night and this mishap started us off on a bad note. This aside , hotel really has good activity areas. I am a Platinum Elite member with Marriott group but did not get recognized for my status not was offered any elite privileges here. I would highly recommend the JW Marriott at Palm Springs compared to this one if you are a Platinum Elite member. The hallways , courtyard and property grounds are pretty. Lot of Activities for kids to be busy with. Overall , A good solid option for a Palm Springs getaway but check in staff needs to do a lot better !

I was wearing the ring that evening and still had it when I went to bed, but it was gone by morning when I began packing. The ring is approximately 3 carats total, including a 2 carat center stone. We searched the room thoroughly before leaving and rechecked all luggage again once we got home, with no success. My husband contacted the hotel and was told the morning staff would be asked. Given the value of this item, that response is not sufficient. A property at this level should have a clear, documented lost-and-found process with accountability, rather than relying on informal follow-up. We paid over $600 for a one-night stay. The level of urgency and communication so far does not reflect the seriousness of the situation. I am requesting that management conduct a formal review, including verification with housekeeping, review of lost-and-found records, and any applicable security procedures, and provide a direct, documented follow-up.

The resort is beautiful, family-friendly, and offers something for everyone. We spent hours enjoying the lazy river, water slides, pools, and all of the activities throughout the property. Ashlee Flores at the front desk was incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and accommodating during both check-in and check-out. She made us feel valued and taken care of from start to finish. We also want to recognize Ed and Mickey from Concierge, along with Jasmine, the hotel operator, who helped coordinate a birthday surprise that my mother arranged for our daughter before we arrived. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made her birthday even more memorable. The magic show was also super fun! Our initial room was infested with mosquitoes, forcing us to wake our four-year-old in the middle of the night to switch rooms. The replacement room was worse, featuring broken bathroom tiles and brown running water. We attempted to call the front desk but no one answered. We let the water run for 30 mins and that seemed to help. We are also incredibly disappointed with our recent experience at the pool. For a $400 rental fee at the gazebo I expected a luxurious, relaxing day, but it fell flat on every front. It took over 45 minutes just to put in our initial drink orders. The staff seemed inattentive and overwhelmed, which made us feel completely neglected. The physical condition of the gazebo was awful. The privacy buckles were broken, and the space was downright filthy. For the price being charged, basic upkeep and cleanliness should be a bare minimum. Like I said, it's our fourth year in a row coming to this location as a family and it was the first time we felt the amount spent and the quality of the experience fell short this year.

I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. I left off one star because there are definitely areas of improvement that could be made but not enough to ruin my experience.
