Lovely small property. Well kept, clean chill. Attentive staff. Definitely mostly on quiet side which is exactly what I was looking for. Chris, Carson and the rest of staff all professional and helpful.

While this property has lovely grounds, I wouldn't consider it a resort. The rooms are adequate; however, they need gut renovations. The grounds are beautiful, appearing to have been renovated recently except for the jacuzzi, which is in desperate need of resurfacing and equipment upgrade so that stronger jets and warmer temperatures can be enjoyed. We did experience a mosquito issue, which was likely due to a broken sprinkler head and a fountain that was not functioning effectively. I will say that the staff's hospitality was excellent. Ben, Carson, Christopher, and most importantly, George the turtle, were friendly and attentive. Overall, my opinion of The Desert Paradise is that it is a pleasant and reasonably priced motel in a lovely setting. I would stay here again. I've given this four-star rating due to the quality of the rooms and the issue with mosquitoes. I had other photos to post, but Yelp wouldn't upload them.

I've been coming to this resort almost every year, sometimes a couple times a year, for nearly 24 years. When I was 18, my friends and I had just got done with a night at VIP in riverside, And decided we needed to drive to Palm Springs to keep the party going. We came to warm sands and knocked on every door until a resort finally let us in, and it was Desert Paradise. I've been coming back ever since. Of course now I'm grateful they are not routinely letting in crazy teenagers because it's truly the serene garden atmosphere of the courtyard that I've come to love now. You can have your crazy Palm Springs party, and come back here to chill. Yes, there are often busy times with guys hanging around having fun. But it's not as "busy" as the other resorts. It's chill. It's nice. It's relaxing. Truly a vacation. And I've been coming back ever since. Although part of me will always miss the diva themed rooms and I often wonder where those portraits all ended up. The staff here is always friendly and accommodating. They want you to have a nice relaxing vacation too. It's been my Palm Springs home for years and I just hope it doesn't turn into another straight resort like some of the other places.

I'm a little late writing this review. Spent a week here after Thanksgiving - and it was awesome! This is not the first time my husband I stayed here and will not be the last. We like Desert Paradise, first because of Carson and Rick. They really strive to make sure your stay is amazing! Both are so friendly and outgoing. They even say hi if they see you out in the bars on Arenas Road! Rooms are nice and clean. I worked from here, remotely, during the week, and it was very easy. WiFi works well! Pool is heated as is the hot tub. I also love the outdoor shower. And the other guests we've met over several stays are people we're still in touch with. In fact this time we ran into someone we met there a few years ago. We also enjoy the breakfast each morning. I do mis the shared outdoor refrigerator by the pool and the in room welcome snacks, but that's small stuff compared to how great a boutique resort this is. We are already trying to figure out when we can head back! Once again, hats off to Carson and Rick!

The nature lover in me was excited to see and hear so much wildlife at the resort.

Meet my friend from out of town at Desert Paradise and was completely in love with the wildlife and all around appearance of this little oasis resort. The room was fine and the staff was friendly. I wasn't there for the men but was completely thrilled with how my little day and a half felt like a week at a relaxing spa. My phototherapy was in high gear with so much to photograph. Good times were had and will definitely visit again.

Even the hotel grounds are excited to see you

We were able to go to the pools late at night and early in the morning and it was nice to have the room right there. We saw a few people who just got the day spa passes asking about the rooms and expressing regret that they hadn't just booked rooms here. Everything was really nice including the staff and service when we ordered food and drinks near the poolside. The skyline is beautiful and to be there on July 4th, we could see the fireworks in various parts of the sky. There is plenty of parking but it is a little odd of a location as it is mainly in a residential neighborhood with a few options for food. But they maintain the property well and it was a beautiful stay at a reasonable rate. We would recommend staying here!

The property is perfectly maintained and rooms have been nicely updated. Our last trip was perfect. It was our first trip with a newborn which was nerve wracking. We had called in advance and requested our rooms be ready early, and that our rooms be near my parents room since they were traveling with us. I have made similar requests at other Bonvoy properties before and have almost always been severely disappointed. That was not the case here. Our rooms were ready when we arrived at noon, and we even received an upgrade due to our Bonvoy status. The front desk manager was so professional and kind! I was blown away when we arrived in our room and they had left the sweetest gifts for our son since it was his first trip. Touches like this are what make the Ritz Carlton brand legendary. Our entire stay was excellent. We enjoyed the pool and had the best service for drinks and lunch. We celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Edge. The level of urgency and communication so far does not reflect the seriousness of the situation. I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. I left off one star because there are definitely areas of improvement that could be made but not enough to ruin my experience.

All rooms are a maximum of two people with a hot tub, refrigerator with water, microwave, and coffee maker, air conditioning, and DVD player. If you'd like, bring a DVD and popcorn to enjoy during your stay. The bed was pretty comfortable. There were more than enough pillows which I'm guilty of using more than one pillow while I sleep. I love how the comforter was linen on the outside, but cozy and warm on the inside. The Crooners room has two sinks, but I only used one. There is happy hour everyday at 5pm by the pool or communal area with snacks and beer or wine. During my stay there were chips and salsa and the following day was veggies with dip, with of course a drink of choice. Really nice touch added to my stay. It's been a while since I have stayed in a bed and breakfast and I love the homeyness here. Breakfast is served in the communal dining area with hand sanitizer provided. The three-course breakfast starts with a fruit smoothie, a fruit parfait and a hot breakfast. For breakfast they served blueberry pancakes with sausage and the following day it was quiche with artichoke hearts and potatoes. I loved the service here so much. You sit at a table and they serve the food to you. The pool is open 24 hours will pool floaties available to use as well. Another thing I like about this place is that because there aren't many people (max 40 people at a time) it is highly likely you will get the pool to yourself. When I checked out and left the property I told my husband I would enjoy staying here again. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend you stay here too.

There's a Starbucks right inside though, which was clutch in the mornings. The property is spread out, so they have golf carts running around to shuttle you between buildings, which is a nice touch if you don't feel like walking. I stayed in a king room and it was clean and comfortable with a nice patio. Friends of ours were in one of the villas and those were really nice, way more space if you're traveling with a group. Our room was beautiful, too!!! Comfy bed, well maintained features (I loved the furniture and layout). A/C in our room was perfection! Bathroom was spacious and the shower-head was perfect. Body wash smelled fantastic! Overall exceptional resort and stay.

All of this makes for a relaxing, social, and luxurious stay. Every staff member I met was friendly and focused on making guests comfortable. My week-long stay felt more like being hosted than just staying at a hotel. Staff were always around if needed but never intrusive, and any small requests were handled with care. The resort is in excellent condition. The grounds, pool deck, and common areas are always clean and well-maintained, showing that cleanliness is a daily priority. Both the pool and hot tub were spotless. My ground-level pool suite was spacious and well-decorated, making it perfect for a longer stay. Besides a comfortable bed, the room had a sofa, a desk, a chest of drawers, reliable Wi-Fi, and a large-screen TV. The layout made it easy to work, relax, or entertain without feeling cramped. A serene atmosphere makes it suitable for whatever you are looking for during your vacation. Being on the first floor, I did contend with overhead noise, as I could hear my neighbor walking around. However, I would choose a ground-floor, poolside room again for convenience. Breakfast and lunch are included in the room rate, and both offer plenty of options. Having fresh meals on-site made it easy to plan relaxed days by the pool or in my suite. The guest culture at Descanso is also special. During my week there, I found other guests to be fun and friendly. There's a nice balance: it's easy to have conversations, but there's no pressure to socialize. The clothing‑optional resort and compact layout foster a sense of ease and privacy, yet you are always just steps from your room, the pool, and the cantina, which keeps everything convenient. If you're thinking about staying here, I especially recommend Descanso if you value: * An upscale, men-only place with a friendly but calm atmosphere. * Large, comfortable rooms that feel like home, even for a week or longer. * Very clean pool and hot tub areas where you can easily spend most of your day. * Quality breakfast and lunch are included, making it much easier to plan your day. I will happily return to Descanso Resort and highly recommend it to gay men looking for a refined, relaxed Palm Springs getaway with great service, generous amenities, and a truly welcoming, social atmosphere.

The most impressive thing here is the staff. It is their goal to make you feel pampered and have the best time you can. The other guests were also a great group of guys. I went solo and you can hang with others or get some quality time alone. Descanso was like paradise. You literally can't help but relax. Before I left I made a reservation for next year and after I got home I made a second one. Honestly, it was truly amazing and I have been to a lot of male only resorts but nothing like this.
