One of my favorite resale spots in Henderson. Within a 5-mile radius there is Castaways, Goodwill, Savers, and a Salvation Army store, so there are MANY options to shop second hand and this is in my top 2. Sometimes the sections are a little sparse, and I have a theory that people tend to donate to Goodwill or Savers over this store. I think people may not know this hidden gem exists, as it is in a shopping center rather than a stand-alone store with big name recognition. The prices are phenomenal, especially the books. I can load up on a ton of books for our Little Free Library and not spend too much. I recently visited and I'm not a fan of how the clothing has been re-arranged. They used to have men's, women's, and children's and now the kids clothing is divvied up into the men's and women's section. If you're a thrifter looking for a good deal, give this store a chance. read more

Amazing thrift store! Like the old fashioned ones that are actually affordable. Anywhere for $1-5 for most items. Got a nice skirt for $3, kids toys for $1-3. Great book selection for $1-3. Some really nice board games - got exploding kittens. Very easy to drop off donations as well right around the back. Some really nice furniture. They even have a discount for first responders, military, or teacher. Will be coming back! read more

This store has the best prices, better than Savers or Goodwill. Super nice staff and the store is always nice and cool which makes it nice to shop. Sometimes they have a flash sale of clothes & shoes for $1.97! And they have many items for $1.00. Located in Henderson which is always nice. read more

Went there with high hopes. It was ok. People have no appreciation for workers there. Just because it is a thrift store, they want to keep things nice to sell. Kids messing with toys, adults not caring about kids making mess. I felt bad for the workers. I will go back but overall not a great experience and prices seemed a bit high. read more

Just relocating to the area, I needed to find a donation center for things that will not fit in our new home. After researching, I came across Castaways, and what a gem this location is!! Not only have I donated, I have shopped!! There are some really great finds with great prices. You will need to come back often as the inventory is constantly changing. The donation area is located behind the store in the back alley, can't miss it. They help unload your car/truck and are very friendly. read more

This is like a higher end Goodwill. I called to see if they could sell my wedding dress they said yes. I took it as consignment or pay me on the spot. Well neither happened. I went in they told me donation only. I'm like I called before I drove over here that's not what you said. They just kind of stood there and shrugged their shoulders. I eventually just left it there to be donated however everyone needs to get on the same page about how they conduct business. read more

Enjoyed thrifting at this resale store with friends. It's very large and well organized. It also has a clean bathroom and dressing rooms. I enjoy the multiple specials they offer weekly. Prices are better than other places. Bought women's jeans that appear to be new for 97 cents. We walked out with at least six bags of items. Highly recommend! read more

With all resale stores going crazy with prices- castaways was able to keep their prices down and I sure appreciate it. Not that we are family in need, but I love bargain shopping and you can find so many cool items there. I donate all of my stuff there too. Shout out to Wayne! He was super helpful and pleasant. I saw a Halloween cat decoration I wanted to get and a lady at the counter wasn't sure it was for sale- so I called the next day and asked again. This time it was Wayne, he put an item aside for me. I was so thankful!! And boooooo to the other guy (tall and young) I had a toddler and a little baby in a car seat, and he gave me a big box to carry. He could have offered a little help. This store is clean, well-stocked and had very reasonable prices. There are color tag discounts, and service was friendly. I was just visiting Vegas, but if I lived locally this would be my go-to for outfitting a home. I have driven plast this place many times, and today I decided to stop inside. It's decently sized with some nice items! I ended up leaving with a $10 large Christmas lantern that lights up and my sister scored a mini travel easel, small tupperware set, and a nice blazer. She spent roughly $20 all together. I've been telling my friends about this store although, I haven't been there in a while. My friend and I went a few times and when we did, I loved the selection and bought a doll for my collection. Plus, I can get lost in the book section. However, I am giving 4 stars because when I needed help replacing a sofa for someone in need who was in the hospital, the store employees (and church employees who they are connected with) said they don't donate but I could go see what they had. I don't understand how this was helping someone in need. read more

Castaways is run by the Central Christian Church. It's one of the nicest thrift stores I've ever been to. It is clean, spacious and organized. Merchandise is clean and in great condition. They don't sell janky items that look like they should've been simply thrown away in the first place. I've been to other thrift stores that actually put broken or really dirty items up for sale. Not cool to come across a cumin/body odor ridden t-shirt while looking through the clothes rack :o They sell pretty much everything; furniture, housewares, clothing, toys, books, etc... Prices vary. They range from cheap to a little higher priced. They have daily specials so be sure to check out the board at the entrance or ask one of their friendly staff. If buying secondhand isn't your thing you can help by making a donation. They have a convenient donation drop off located in back of the building - just follow the signs. They are so personable and kind! They have a kids toy bucket for little ones and my son always runs to the car shopping cart with the wheel inside so he can "drive it"!
