Our friends, who we traveled to Palm Springs with are big fans of the artist Shag. They have…read morenumerous pieces of his art throughout their home. When in Palm Springs they will always stop by his store/gallery, The Shag Store. If we are with them, we'll go also. We're not quiet the fans they are but we do enjoy his art, and we like to browse the store. On this occasion Shag himself was at the store. He was hosting a free cocktail party and meet and greet for anyone who stopped in. He was signing any pieces that fans brought in or bought. Our friends didn't bring anything, but they did purchase something and had him sign it so that was cool for them. Becky and I wandered around the store and took in the artwork while our friends enjoyed their meet and greet with Shag. I highly recommend The Shag Store when in Palm Springs. Even if you're not an "artsy" person, it's a rad spot. Check it out!

A kind, gentle man, Steve runs the gallery and we spent quite a bit of time chatting with him to learn about Nat and his art. I love everything mid-century modern vibe and you can't help but smile when gazing on the whimsy and color of Nat's art. I couldn't leave without something and ended up with a gorgeous tile to memorialize our stop. I would decorate my entire house with this art lol and am already looking where I can inject the joy the exudes from Nat Reed's pieces. This gallery is absolutely worth a stop when visiting Palm Springs!

The owner is super nice and answers a lot of questions. He taught me about how to use an app called "ask art" to find about artist history, and auction sales. His business partner is also very kind and says hello to customers doesn't just ignore them. I fell in love with a painting by artist Jose Monroy for $2,800.

People who let their children run wild in a place that sells vintage (often times) restored to their original beauty, should not take offense to the store owner that takes pride in their business. Nor should you take offense if you THINK you might have something worth selling there, when it is clearly not appropriate. Consignors and people that want to sell their "parent's mid-century furniture" are often times not versed in the Mid-Century Design world. You cant fault the store owner for knowing what the right merchandise is for their store... MOVE ON. There are places to consign your familys "Heirlooms" but North Palm Canyon Drive is probably not the right place for that. Jimmy and Miguel are great to work with and they're both nice guys. It's too bad that people are quick to judge someone over them not wanting to purchase your stuff...Like Jack Nicholson said "You can't handle the truth" But then to go and write a bad review just shows your lack of dignity.
