This is a pretty nice city park with multiple parking lots, a walking path around a "lake", lots of green space, seating, and a playground. There's also a scouting activity area that looked interesting and seems to be for scouting troops to have campfires and outdoor activities. Technically there's also a hummingbird garden but unless you parked in a specific spot or know where to look, you'd miss it as its small and tucked in a far corner. While small, it is nice (aside from the pile of cigarette butts some jrrk left) with some nice plants, a short walking path, and a water feature. It has a lot of desert plants but I was surprised not to see more spring flowers this time of year. The park is nice and the water seemed clean and not smelly, but I wish we had more areas of denser vegetation like the hummingbird area to walk around in. It does seem pretty well kept up and I noticed several newer desert willows growing. At 8 am on a spring Sunday, it was busy with people walking, fishing, at the playground, and doing tai Chi, but parking wasn't an issue. read more

What a beautiful park in middle of chandler. We have visited this park multiple times for birthdays, just for a walk around and taking the kids to play area. Though the play area needs a bit of maintenance, the kids love the variety of play equipments available. There is a lake with ducks near by which is a big hit among Kids. We have tried the train ride and it's pretty cute. Unlike other parks it's good long train ride. Overall a good large park, this is like an OG in chandler. read more

The city of Chandler hosted a special arbor event on Nov 2nd. Although the official national Arbor day is April 25th, Chandler chose this Nov day due to the hot climate. The city speaker declared Nov 2, Chandler's Arbor day. After signing in with proof of being a Chandler resident, you are given a ticket redeemable for a free five gallon tree. You are then encouraged to visit the tables to play games, watch live demonstrations, seek information and pick up some freebies. Rulers, sunglasses, irrigation goof plugs, pop up sponges, cactus pens etc. There were plenty of useful tips on gardening and tree care. Arborists, environmentalists, the city mayor all spoke with information on how to create sustainable green spaces in our backyards. At the end of this event, you could walk down to the parking lot where Treeland nurseries were set up with three types of five gallon trees. Friendly nursery staff exchanged your tickets for the tree of your choice. They happily answered all questions when asked for assistance to help select a desert willow or one of the mesquite varieties. Now, my newest tree is planted in my backyard and I hope not to kill it! Me and my partner wanted to have a quick picnic for Valentine's Day and found this cute park with a lake that was perfect. There is definitely something for everyone to do. You can relax on a bench under the shade of the trees, your partner can fish for some rainbow trout and the kids can either drag you on a train ride or can play in the little park. I liked the atmosphere overall but the only downside of Arizona is that the parks have no grass you can really lay your blanket on because it's just dead. We decided to eat at a table instead and that worked out for us. Loved hearing the birds sing and the kids laughter but the train noise was a bit annoying after sitting there for a couple hours and the train would come by every couple minutes... If you're looking for a chill Sunday family activity, this is a good one. If you want quiet and connecting with nature, there are plenty other places. read more

We came here for the train. It was a good train ride lasted about 15 minutes and was $5/person over the age of 1. The carousel was under maintenance so didn't get to ride that but the playground was nice. It was big and had a slide for all ages. The pond had a lot of ducks in it and that was good for the kids to check out for a bit. There was a dead fish on the picnic table though so that was a bit out of the norm I'd suspect. Pretty nice park! The trees have yet to regrow their leaves. I liked that they had Ramadas there to provide shade. At this time it was pretty chilly in the shade but warm enough in the sun. My car interior was hot when I got back to it. They also have a lake. You have to have a fishing permit. I think I might have fished here years ago as part of a group activity. I didn't catch any fish though, neither did anyone in my group. They have a little train that you can ride if you pay for a train ticket to take you around the park. There were a few people riding the train when I went. Surprisingly there were a lot of noisy birds around. Another party left their food unattended while they went to take a short walk to the lake and the birds were all over it before they got back. The birds weren't even pigeons, they looked like crows. Make sure to keep an eye on your food if you plan to take it home after at this park. Otherwise my group had a good experience here. read more

The school I work for, Noah Webster Schools, had an Employee Picnic at this park. I had been by here before but never to the park itself. This park is big and beautiful, with a large lake for viewing enjoyment and ambiance. There are several ramadas for picnics, including some right on the lake. Many other parties and get togethers were happening alongside ours, as it was the perfect weather! There is a nice big playground area for the kids to enjoy and play, and also, a train to ride that goes all around the park! Several of us including myself rode the train! This park has such a wide variety of things to do for anyone looking to get outside to enjoy themselves when it's nice outside. There are multiple playgrounds available, a scenic lake, splash pad, hummingbird garden, railroad, various sports fields including tennis, and public restrooms. The hummingbird garden is a bit small and when we went we didn't really see any wildlife at all aside from maybe a lizard but maybe we went at the wrong hummingbird watching time. The playgrounds have overhead shade and use wood chip substrate. The splash pad and railroad are closed during certain parts of the year so double check before going if that's what you're hoping to do when you get here. Also note that the railroad operates primarily on weekends when it is open. I do love Hummingbirds, so of course I had to see the area dedicated to them. https://www.chandleraz.gov/explore/chandler-parks/guide/desert-breeze-park/hummingbird-habitat Beautiful iron artwork adorns the entrance and middle section of this area. A pathway winds around so you can appreciate all the plant varieties. We visited in December so no hummingbirds while I was there, but a few other birds made an appearance. It was very relaxing sitting on the bench watching the water feature. I'm sure if I lived in the area and visited regularly I'd see hummingbirds. For now I'm content with the hummingbird that visits me on my patio each day. read more

Five minutes away from my hotel. Just a cool park with a huge lake and walking trail with interactive reading for kids or adults can scan the barcode along the trail. There is a water spray area, carousel, baseball field and fishing at this park. This is such a great park! From all their giant bbq grills, the lake, the choo choo train for the weetots, a splashpad, a carousel, a playground complete with squeaky swings, et cetera. You can even fish for rainbow trout here although I can't imagine it would be easy. There's so much to do for everyone! Not your cup of tea? It's also a great farming spot if you play Pokémon GO. I'm talking Pokéstop galore with lots of lures, the intermediate area has two or three Pokégyms, and Dratinis are here [so farm until you get Dragonairs and Dragonites]. This place is huge. There are numerous walkways, plentiful shading, and great for photoshoots. All in all, Desert Breeze is a decent park. read more

My father was waiting in line and I was waiting to get the tickets. The lady at the counter refused to sell us the tickets until they "made sure" they had enough seats. The conductor let 2 older kids with "all day" wristbands in and my son and his grandpa didn't get to ride cause it was the last train of the day. HORRIBLE SERVICE and UNFAIR. This park is very close to where I live, and it's beautiful. We have a few of our team outing here. They have Ramada's where you can sit and talk or serve food if any event is organized. There is a mini train which takes you all around the park which is pretty cool. They have tennis courts where people play pretty late hours, donno if any membership needed for using it. As visitors to this Chandler area, we weren't sure what to expect. We went to the park after the sun went down, to just check it out. It was great! I was visiting friends in Chandler and they took us to this park. Wow! One thing I really like about the area is that there are kid-friendly parks practically on every block. But Desert Breeze park and the railroad are definitely well above average. There are so many great features about this park. A large, covered play structure for kids, a splash pad (opens in April), many swings for both kids and babies/toddlers, and a large pond great for fishing, feeding ducksor just walking around. Also seems there are plenty of covered, first-come-first-serve picnic areas with tables where you can have parties or barbeques. This is a great park! There are plenty of walking paths to go walk and enjoy the beautiful Arizona fall/winter weather. I have active grandsons, as they should be, one is 5 and one is 2, they are cousins, the 5 year old loves to climb, swing, shout, run, slide all over everything, the 2 year old, well he is just learning what he likes, well we both are, right now taking him to the park is like making him eat something he dislikes, he just hates it haha. My daughter was watching the boys and said mom let's go take them to park, so we packed them up and off we went. We choose Desert Breeze for lots of reasons. It has a Hummingbird Habitat, trails to walk along, playground, splash pads, lake to walk around, ball fields, tennis courts, and even has a train and a carousel. The only problem I had was the cost to ride these ride, 2 tickets for the Carousel and 3 for the train, each ticket is $1.25 so it would have been 5 bucks for both boys on the Carousel and 7.50 for them to ride the train, I really don't feel those are worth the price, so we opted out of the rides. The splash pad kept my 5 yr old grandson happy, my 2 yr old grandson had fun chasing the birds, we even found a momma duck and her babies resting, and he thought they were the cutest. Over all Desert Breeze Park is a good park to play at, just be advised to be cash if you're going to go for the rides. read more

Really an awesome community park. I have been to quite a few kids birthdays and company picnics here and have always had a blast (though I wouldn't attempt it in August). You don't even realize how huge this place is until you drive in since it is surrounded by residential communities. There are so many things to do here. Bike and jogging trails, a lake for fishing or paddle boats, baseball and basketball facilities, and plenty of grilling and picnicing areas including some that are covered. There is even a train that goes around the whole park that kids can ride for a few bucks. They also have a hummingbird habitat that I have not seen yet. I wish I had heard about that before it got so hot since it sounds lovely! read more
