Great for kids older. The sign says 5-12 yrs old. The playground structure is TALL! I don't know why places make these things so TALL even for an adult it is kind of sketchy. Everything on the ground is cool- swings, sewsaw, music, log walking, slides, and down below next to the lake is the huge splash pad. Wasn't on so not sure of safety. This park will probably be more relaxing to me once my child is older. He is 4 and wants to go on everything even up really high.

Great park, just beautiful, well kept. Nice + Quiet early in the morning. Seems like everyone is doing a great job of picking up after their dog, only poop u may see is duck poop lol - I hope this park always stays so beautiful. #keepitclean

Im so upset. We loved this splash pad. We have been going for years! I just can't take my kids anymore. It's too dangerous. I've taught my little ones to go down the slide and get up quickly so other kids can go down. But other parents don't watch their kids and there's nobody making sure it's safe. My daughter was on her first slide of the day and got up quick and was running off the pad and another kid took her out by her ankles. I've never seen a harder hit. She's only two and a half and now she has a broken collarbone!!!!!!! I know it was an accident but I can't bring my kids back. It's too dangerous. The kids are wild and no supervision. I was about three feet away when it happened. I couldn't get to her. My poor baby.

First time today (Thursday afternoon, 110 degrees) and it was surprisingly great! I thought it would be a tiny splash pad super packed with kids, but it wasn't too crowded for a summer day. The area is spread out too and has lots of benches and seating with a lot of overhead shade. The slide is great for older toddlers, my 2 year old didn't like it because the water was dripping down before you slide, but they had other things to play with. We checked out the park too (only downside is that the regular park is right by the splash pad, so my kids wanted to climb the hill over and over again to go to the boiling hot park), and it is a HUGE park. In the winter this place would be amazing for taking walks and playing at park, which we plan to do.

Kids playing. Great for younger kids

Exceeded expectations. Has a water play area where the kids can pretend to be pirates and sand pit for kids to dig as well!

Really great splash pad ! Cute slide board/pirate ship. Located on lake. Fun shaded soft floor playground on hill next to the water play. Pros - very fun on hot day Free Bathrooms right next to playground and water play Clean Cons- No snacks or any public vendors in case u forget to pack kids snacks and they see a bunch of birthday parties around and u have no food for them and your kids get hungry and try to steal someone else's kids snacks. This park/Splash pad is great for kids of ALL ages! Splash pad is spread out so lots of room for lots of kids! Not as many fountains or sprayers as a lot of the others in the valley but more unique than others! The pirate ship slide was a hit both times we went and the bucket that pours out water every few minutes was so fun! There is a skate park for older kids and lots of open field areas to run for sport activities! The park area is pretty great, it's all shaded so it's a cool escape from the brutal sun and heat. It has musical instruments for the kids to learn and explore with and I've never seen that at another park! They have a dual swing for parent/baby or sibling/baby and everyone loved it! The little kid/big kid jungle gyms were mixed together though so it's a little nerve racking for parents with little ones! Overall great park and worth the drive if you don't live in Queen Creek!

The other two entrances are off Hunt Highway (Wagon Wheel Drive) and Brenner Pass. Most of the easy/family-friendly trails are off Phillips Road- lots of loops with gradual, minimal rolling hills. The Wagon Wheel trails definitely have more elevation and challenging features. Both of the parking lots I've been to are wide, allowing plenty of car and equine parking. It's so fun to see the horses and riders out on the trails! You'll also see bikers too. This is also a popular park for races - running and biking, based on some friends experiences. Make sure to bring cash for parking if you don't have a Parks Pass, in case of emergency and/or if there's not a ranger manning each station.

While there's a lot of pickleball courts, I've seen them full with a queue to play. I haven't seen this with the tennis courts or other sport courts. There's a playground with a play structure, swings, slides, a zip-line and more. It's on a hill so there's multiple levels to play on. There's a large splash pad for older children and a separate area for younger children, so less likely your toddler gets run over by a pre-teen not paying attention. The one drawback is there's not a lot of shady places to hide from the blistering summer sun. There's a large grass field but it's sloped and thus not useful for playing flag football or soccer. I believe it's built that way to watch performances at the pavilion. If there are flat grass fields at this park, I have yet to find them; they would be a welcome addition. At the end of the park there's a lake with a walking path around it. The largest ramada is on the lakefront and looks to 100-150 people. They have smaller ramadas around to rent as well. Overall, Gilbert Regional Park is a nice clean new park with many amenities. Everything is still in good working condition and there's a lot of open space where everyone isn't concentrated into a small area.

This might be a great park for some people. I'm not trying to yuck your yum!…read moreI went for a kid's birthday party at Ramada 2 on a Saturday at noon. 1.) The shade was an issue. There just isn't a lot of shade. The tables weren't shaded (because of the whole earth tilting and spinning,) except for the people sitting on one side of one of the tables and the sun still hit 80% (chest down) of each person. About 3/4 of the playground equipment was in the shade from one direction but the surface area of the shade structures could have easily been big enough to provide better coverage. 2.) The playground equipment is unusual. Before you go check the photos to see if it's something your kids would like. My 5 year old doesn't rock climb or do jumping from giant high thing to high thing. There was a ton of dog poop in random places including in the wood chips. That's not the park's fault, I get that. Still worth mentioning- maybe the park could have someone come by once a day and check for that? Seemed like the human sized poop in the wood chips next to the water fountains had been there at least a full day. Lastly I think it's worth mentioning that the giant lake does not have any safety guards around it. We really careful with your little ones. The water is super disgusting but there are little fish and if you watch closely little baby turtles that come to the surface for air. Super fun to watch but it would not be good if your little one fell in.
