This park is so great for kids of all ages! Gated splash pad, lots of shaded ramadas and climbing for the older guys.

I love coming to this park. It is really big and there is so much to do. I mostly come here to run. Riverview Park does make me wish I was a kid again because they have so many cool things for the little ones to enjoy. The parks I grew up playing at were nothing like this one. There is a 50-foot tall Genesis climbing tower, playgrounds with a rubber surface to protect from falls, a 60-foot long caterpillar mesh rope climbing structure and a splash pad. The lake is stocked for those that like to fish. There are picnic tables, a fountain and ramadas that can be reserved in advance. It is nice to come here in the evenings and see people going on walks and families gathering for celebrations. We all need to get out and enjoy the outdoors more in my opinion. Riverview Park is next door to Sloan Park and the Mesa Riverview shopping area. There is so much in this area to do and enjoy. I have really enjoyed living a short drive away from here the past couple of years. Riverview Park is located right off the 202 freeway and has plenty of parking. read more

I absolutely love this park. The playground is amazing, offering all the things a kid would love and makes taking the kids to a park from a kid standpoint so much fun. Not to mention I love the large jungle gym tower they have. You don't see parks like this very often these days. They have that sponge-like flooring surrounding the playground setups to keep them a tad safer and have a lot of different sections to help divide up the flow and traffic. They offer ample tables, shading, a splash pad, sidewalks and a large man made pond/lake area that a lot of people catch and release from. It's a great area to run or do some conditioning as well. read more

This park is excellently illuminated and provides ample space for children to play and for adults to take a leisurely walk. Occasionally, sprinklers are turned on to combat the heat. Parking is readily available throughout the park. I find it particularly stunning during sunset. Beautiful park with plenty of sidewalks for walking/scootering, water features (kids splash pad), and my personal favorite, some damn AMAZING grass. The grass here is honestly fantastic, something I find super rare in Arizona. It's great for laying on, picnicking, spikeball, throwing various balls, frisbee...the possibilities are really endless. There are large palm trees that provide much needed shade during hotter months as well as many benches...but why not enjoy the fantastic grass??? I'll usually grab a banh mi and bubble tea at the nearby Mekong Sandwiches, but there are also many fast food options walking distance in the nearby Mesa Riverview shopping center so there's no excuse not to have a quick picnic!! read more

Riverview is my favorite park in the valley! It's gargantuan & so well maintained! The water feature is so mesmerizing when it lights up at night. U can soak up all the sunshine u want staring at the peaceful waterfront lake. There's a huge splash area for kids to get soaking wet. There's also a super high rope feature for older kids and or adults to test their fear of heights or to unleash their monkey side! There are lots of clean, covered ramadas to plant ur booty down when u're tired from exploring the entire park. The park is huge, and u can't miss it driving down Dobson and Rio Salado parkway. It's also conveniently located next to the Sloan park (cubs spring training stadium). Don't miss out on play time at this amazing park! It's always waiting for u! read more

When you pay a visit to Riverview Park, you'll have lots of activity choices.  To name a few of the activies availabily here, there's lots of open, green space to place soccer and/or football, there's a first rate children's play area, and there's even a really nice lake where you can do some urban fishing! It was nice to find a safe place to walk after sunset. The children's park is delightful with waterworks and climbing ropes.

Not good for fishing, zero live fish only dead fish. wait until spawn day or go to another lake.

this park is one of are favorite parks to go to in Mesa az They have a splash pad two playgrounds a little lake to fish in and a walking trail that goes all around the park. I've never been fishing here but I have friends that do and they told me there are some pretty good sized fish in it It has a bus stop near by which.is convenient and a strip mall with a bunch of stores in it like a Walmart and other clothing stores dollar tree ext.. plus restaurants. read more

This is an amazing park. The huge climbing structures scares me. I mean if I were a kid it would be a blast but as a mom I'm like nope. The splash pad is awesome. The bathrooms are nice. Plenty of parking. It will definitely be in our rotation. read more

I come here when I want to "get away" from the city. It's pretty centralized, although it's not a huge park, it's large enough to allow for plenty of secluded spots for everyone to enjoy. Really a great park to hang out at. Lots of kid friendly areas, including a section with water splash pad and a colorful water fountain, and lots of jungle gyms. I often see people fishing in the evenings or walking their doggies. At night it's really a great spot for a nice evening walk or to lay on the soft green grassy areas. They also have bathrooms in the center area of the park. read more

Great Park, Nice Water, Fountain, Cool Playground, Dirty Bathrooms This is a really good park. Nice water pond area with bridges, benches and ducks to feed if you bring bird seed. A nice fountain can be found for the kids to check out. Great playground area I am guessing is closed fir COVID overreactions like some places seem to be intent upon. This park has a lot of potential! - 1 star for really dirty bathrooms. If you need to sit down in the men's room plan to bring some disinfectant wipes and rubber gloves since it looks like every nasty guy not only cannot lift the seat for some reason but also need to literally spray the entire seat and wall in pee! I know this would be tough to keep up with but there was dried and fresh pee of different colors cakes on the seat and the bathroom smells like days of under-cleaned urine deposits. read more

Looking for a quite place to take a stroll at in the evening?! Look no further and come here! Ive taken a few evening and morning walks and jogs here and it's the best thing ever. The sidewalks are wide and it's never crowded. My workout consists of a two mile jog and this park is the best! I have not once felt intimidated and I actually feel safe, even in the evenings. Dogs are allowed and most people usually walk them around! The kids play area is huge and they have the water fountain open in the summer for kids! There is also plenty of parking throughout! read more

The park is pretty spacious and is great if you have kids because the playground looks really fun for the little ones. There are a few BBQ grills if you want to do any grilling here, a large pond, and wide open expanses of grassy fields. The grass here when I went last time was cropped very short which made it easy for our pups to walk around. There isn't a lot of good shade here though so it's not the best place to hang out during the hot summer months, at least in the daytime. If you bring your dogs, be sure to have your own poop bags. I didn't really see any bag dispensers here and there were a lot of doggie leftovers in parts of this park. read more

We were looking forward to trying out river view park based on what we read online. The reality fell pretty far short. It's admittedly a clean and modern park, but it has some serious design flaws, poor policies, and other issues. First issue is that most parks have plenty of places to enjoy a picnic or a grilling, this one doesn't. Few pavilions, fewer uncovered tables with grills, and the common area for drop ins, has more than ten tables with a single grill over 20 feet away. Surrounded by screaming kids as it's in the middle of the child play area. This is a terrible set up for groups and families. The few pavilions they do have require reservations with ludicrous charges per hour to use. Ranging from 13 to 26 bucks an hour depending on Mesa residency. There are also no trash cans near most of the tables, making it easy for people to justify littering if they're lazy. Which many are. We had to hike our trash out to the nearest bin. Bathrooms were dirty, with no soap at the sinks. The final issue is a touchy one but the sheer number of homeless people, especially those trying to monopolize the bathrooms for bathing, made the whole place feel unsafe and seedy. read more

Such an amazing park. Such a transformation from what was here before this design/layout. Before it was just a basic park with a lagoon and people fishing, but not much else going on. Now it is a great place for families with several shaded picnic areas/ramadas and several great play structures/areas. Love the walking paths - great for adults needing to walk off lunches/BBQ's they just finished. Several Ingress portals at the park as well - more fun for adults. This has become one of the best parks around and would be a great model for future parks. read more

This has become a 5-star exoerience. Even if you are not a baseball fan, this place is rich, beautiful, and explore worthy fun for the entire family. Aside from the unique kids playground, adult kids will enjoy the stroll around the Cubs spring league home. Way cool. Wear a good pair of walking shoes or sneakers. And, a walk thru the Riverview shops will amaze many of you. It's major explore-worthy and shopping worthy. Where you spend your money is your choice. I am just saying! NEW: Immediately North of this park find the coolest bike, running, walking trail I have visited for decades. Rio Salado pathway runs thru Tempe and Mesa, a joint construction project. And, north of the path, 25 feet down, is run off from the Salt River. The path appears well lighted and is clean of trash, no broken glass and minimal graffiti. We always search for unique activities. Whether its a hike, a restaurant or playground, we search for something different everywhere we go. This is located right next to the Cubs spring training facility, Sloan Stadium. Check the Cubs schedule if you're planning a trip to this playground February through March. The parking is in the field adjacent to Riverview Park and things can get hectic with all of the cars around the children. Some of this playgrounds features were: A toddler play structure (not shaded) A 6+-year-old child's play structure (shaded) The picnic table area is shaded They have grills to for cookouts too A caterpillar mesh rope structure A 50' climbing tower A splash pad A seated zipline Lots of paved sidewalks with palm trees around Lake Ramada which currently has ducks in it Bathrooms! Tip: The play area is clean, but be careful on the greens around the park. I saw multiple "shards" of plasticware around. I just don't want to see one of the children get hurt. This park is beautiful! Ducks on the pond, colorful water for the kids to see near the pond at night, lots of open room for running, a bigger kids playground and a smaller kids playground, a very nice splash pad! There was a public restroom, 3 stalls. Decently clean. Plenty of places to sit. Lots of parking.. but i recommend parking far out that way you can walk past the pond as you go to the park! My only complaint is.. when it's dark it's VERY hard to see. I love that it's open late but even with the lights they use, it's too dark. It's hard to see on the playground and hard to see on the splash pad. If you have multiple kids it's unsafe, way too hard to keep track of kids in the dark! read more

Really great family park. Built with a splash pad for the hot days, tons of grass area for football/baseball, a lake with ducks for the little ones and tons of jungle gym playspace. They even have a huge web cage for the bigger kids. Located next to the cubs training facility and a hotel, this park is convenient for locals and visitors. read more

This park was so beautiful! They had public fishing, ponds, ducks and a huge playground. It's good for all ages because it has a splash pad, swings, and a 50ft climbing tower of which my husband went to the top! Come here every morning to walk my girls. It's very peaceful here in the mornings and the sunrise is not too shabby. Occasionally we walk to starbucks and hang out at the park duck gazing. Its also a good place to play pokemon. read more
