He is and will be my most recommended YELP review for 2014 and 2015! I bought one of those fixer-upers type of house and now I realize what I got into! I have had Mike and his great assistant Teddy to my house 4 times upon my new move to the desert. He has done everything from paint rooms/ re-paint rooms, remove debris, re-paint MORE rooms, fix doors, put up ceiling fans, re-put up more ceiling fans and fix electrical outlets.. (the list goes on and on..) THIS GUYS DOES IT ALL. ((and with a smile)) When I have guests over they always love the different type of ceiling fans I had put up.. I had him install 9 ( YES, NINE) ceiling fans!!!!!! YUP, This house is that large and my ceilings are 12' feet! Talk about an obstacle course! He was very "matter of fact" and you didn't feel like he was pulling your leg or getting you to spend more money which most of the handymen in the valley are known for. Best part about why you should hire mike: He was extremely confident, professional and ON TIME. He had a spread sheet emailed to me with in 12 hours and gives a free estimate. I am not kidding you when I tell you he can do it all. From hanging a picture to a custom remodel, this is your guy. I love that he sent a spread sheet and estimate on the break down of pricing and you know exactly what you are spending, how much time it will take etc.. everything you were getting into. Beware of this contractor! Creative Environments 'Enri Torres' out of Indio…read more He did our artificial turf and a driveway. They broke the water main while demo'ing the drive which can happen. We helped them with a PVC coupler, and they found an old PVC 90 degree fitting in their truck and fixed the water main. 5 months later the area of the drive where the fix was done began to leak. We were away and asked Enri to please take a look. No response for over a month. Finally he agreed to meet my gardener there and take a look. He did not pull the pavers, or the turf next to it to inspect and instead told my gardener that he wasn't going to fix it unless we paid for it. Sure enough when we arrived home and he finally responded to us he informed us it would be $1,300 for him to take care of the problem and that it's probably irrigation that my gardener fixed for him and he 'usually' only guarantees irrigation for 6 months. The only problem with that was that the irrigation was capped. It's turf now. That and the fact our contract clearly states that the workmanship is guaranteed for 10 years. Our response was, let's open the drive and the lawn next to it and determine the source of the leak. If it's our problem then of course we will manage it, but it's exactly where the main was broken. His response verbatim was "Nah, I'm done. Yes or no?". Sound like a 10 year workmanship warranty? After a new contractor exposed the problem which was the old PVC 90 cracked due to being old and they shrink, he also noticed that the turf next to the drive where the leak was a mend job Mr. Torres did. A 2" strip of turf that was coming away from the rest of the turf and that that will not hold up. And it's not going to hold up. A 100' section needs to be replaced and done right. Torres thinks the 90 was from the original plumbing from 1985. Unfortunately, that does wash as two of us watched the repair, the 90 has rust stains and nicks from banging around in a truck, the glue is the same for both fittings and very different form the original glue and low and behold there's an etched bar code on the fitting which was not employed almost 40 years ago! When that was shared in a video Torres went silent after. That was a month ago. Torres has washed hands with the problem and refuses to live up to the warranty. We have asked for the turf manufacturer and product number so we can replace the whole turf job properly and he will not do so. Nor will he provide us with the manufacturer's 18 year warranty, which should have been delivered after the job was completed. Why? Did he not source it legitimately? So, he will not live up to the 10 workmanship warranty and we are stuck with turf that's an eyesore until we can find the manufactured and replace. We have filed a complaint with the state contractor's association and will be going to small claims court if needed. This guy has tried to bully his way out of this and now just walked away hoping we will go away. My guess is he thinks he can bully or ignore seniors and get away with it. I'm sure we aren't the first and in fact have seen at least one review where he's done the same thing. We will not as it's about what's right. He's a bad actor and not very smart, so please beware and share this with anyone who is considering using the company. We have cast a wide net and will continue to do so...

We worked with Jesse and Scott to select the window of time, fine tuned the contract to reflect our agreement, paid the deposit, and we were "off to the races"! The crew showed up every day on time and ready work despite the 117 degree weather. They had an amazing attitude all day and we were grateful for the positive energy they brought to this project. Unfortunately, half-way through the project my husband and I had to return to Los Angeles. Jessee was sure we had selected the color samples, and he rolled-out a sample area for final approval. Once we left town, he sent us progress photos each day to be sure we were satisfied with the depth of color. Working with Jesse, his crew, and Scott was an absolute pleasure! Being a "yelper" I had done my research and I had read other reviews that weren't positive. I believe in any transaction, it's important that both parties work together IN ADVANCE of the transaction to be sure there is a clear understanding of the expectations (on both sides). In my case, Scott and I wen't back and forth to clarify the work schedule, the process, the expectations, limitations and such so that there would be no surprises on either end. We hired Farley pavers to install pavers around our pool. Cody came and looked at the site and…read moreworked with a consultant we hired who has 30 years of experience in the industry. Farley pavers provided us a rough sketch of the area to receive the new pavers. We picked a paver, signed the contract and scheduled them to begin the work. Part of Farley's service included calling dig alert to mark any possible utilities in the area they were going to grade down for the new pavers. We later found out they gave dig alert the wrong address. Farley pavers isn't aware that dig alert does not mark irrigation or pool plumbing lines. Farley's contract says they aren't responsible for breaking any plumbing that is less that 12" deep. Their contract also asked for a larger down payment than the CSLB law allows on a contract. Once Farley's began the work, they hit a shallow pool pipe in the paver area. They made us aware only because I walked out to a huge leak and they fixed the pipe only after my husband took time from his day to go and get supplies at Lowe's. Unbeknownst to us, they also hit the main water line supplying water to the pool autofill. They failed to mention anything to us and just decided to cap the line instead of fixing it. What reputable company would do this. Cover up their mistake and lie? After the project was over, the autofill, which was previously working, was no longer working. Farley also hit and broke multiple sprinkler heads and irrigation plumbing. They attempted to fix it, but did a poor job doing so. In fact, they made it worse. My dad, who is 74, ended up repairing all the irrigation. During the paver install, Farley's employees wanted to remove some recently installed foam that was installed against the pool to create a proper expansion joint. This goes against all logic, especially with the heat in the valley. Without a proper expansion joint, pavers can move and push on the pool, causing damage and cracking. We insisted they leave it. They also were going to provide less pavers than were included on the drawing they provided to us. We caught this and the did expand the paver area to fit the drawing. If I had not caught this error, they would have just left it. During the paver install, Farley only sent a project supervisor when there was an issue. Some of these issues could have been solved by regular visits by someone in charge. The workers were clueless to the issues or how to fix them. At the end of the project we had to threaten legal action against Farley to credit us for the needed repairs to the irrigation and pool plumbing. The repairs really should have been their responsibility to repair, but we ended up with the burden of digging up the autofill line and repairing the irrigation. At first, Kevin King was combative about everything. Once we threatened legal action, he did send his workers to help rectify the autofill plumbing issue. Things could have gone so much smoother if the field guys or a supervisor would have communicated with us. Why tell us about the pool leak and then say nothing when they hit the main water line? Makes you wonder what else they have done at other projects. Think before you hire them very carefully. Overall, Farley's price was fair and the pavers turned out nicely. But the headache and stress wasn't worth it. GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE! The bumpy ride could have been avoided with more communication and action on their part. They did end up giving us a $1,000.00 credit for the time and effort we spent correcting their mistakes. If you decide to hire them, insist they have a supervisor visit your job frequently. Be there everyday to check on these guys completely the work. Check to make sure everything that was functional before they arrived is also functional after they leave. Fixing their mistakes was difficult and time consuming. I am glad the nightmare is over.
