TLDR Summary: Yes it's worth the money. Bring a pair of gloves if you have some. Eat a light meal before as it will be bumpy. Get a good nights rest, don't do this hungover. Staff is professional & equipment was top notch. Drinks & Snacks will be served. No restrooms once out on the trail. You will come back dirty/dusty so dress accordingly. Car enthusiasts & adrenaline junkies will enjoy! Full Review: Was my 7th trip to Vegas & lucky number 7 also brought me to one of the most fun Vegas adventures I could've ever hoped for. We booked this based on some of the reviews & photos I had seen online. There are quite a few companies doing similiar things but this one was the best by far after seeing the equipment photos. New RZR equipment, helmets with air hoses to keep desert sand out, sun visors built in... what more could you ask for? Those with prescription glasses just advise your guide. We got picked up at our hotel and we looped around to pick up others along the route. The van trip will be about 30-45 mins depending what stop you were along the way. When the van was full, we headed out to the dessert where the guides & equipment were awaiting our arrival. An RV with a restroom is available at the launching site. Your stuff will stay in the van & it is safe. Yes, you can take a phone for your passenger to film but hold on tight because if you drop it in the desert... it's gone! Next step, throw on a headsock, grab a helmet, & get your safety briefing. Having ridden some Dune Buggies before, I brought a pair of driving gloves with me & I recommend you do the same. Mechanics gloves or any gloves are better than none as they'll add extra grip to your steering. Once loaded up & belted in, the guide will attach your air hose. These are seriously lifesavers & make the ride a much more comfortable experience. There will be a few breaks from time to time to get some drinks, use "natures" restroom, take photos, etc. just remember not to get out without waiting for the guide to detach the air hose. The guides were super friendly, professional, & helpful every step of the way. Safety was always a top priority. The trail was a ton of fun & the RZR's are more than capable for the terrain. Yes, it's bumpy, but that's what you're here for! As a car guy, my only gripe was getting stuck behind an older couple who wasn't as adventurous. There is no chance to pass so your pace is tied to whomever is immediately in front of you. Would have much preferred to be right behind the guide so lesson learned for next time. If you plan to take it easy, opt for riding towards the back of the pack. Once the ride is complete, you'll return to the site where the RV & van is. Return your helmets, get some snacks, buy some merch, & tip your guides if you enjoyed your trip. The van will then drop everyone back off where you were picked up. Would I do it again? YES!!! Big thanks to Ryan, Trevor and Travis for an amazing and fun 2hr adventure off roading tour. Pick up was smooth and on-time. I received some tips on where else to go that was kid-friendly since I was traveling with my daughter. Instructions and help on getting the gear on and UTV was good. Ryan added humor throughout the trip and he checked up on us to make sure we are all comfortable. This team is absolutely wonderful. Friendly and helpful. I wish there were more sand dunes and a longer ride on the sand since the rocks and granite made it very rocky and bumpy that you drive slower. I enjoyed being able to drive faster during the sand dunes part. Also this is the only tour that had the Air Filter and AC in the helmet so you have clear air to breathe and your head stays cool throughout the tour. Truly amazing! If you've ever had a Desire to meet a Great Group of Guys in the Desert for 2 hours and Ride UTV's! Welp you're DEFINITELY found the right place! Let's start at the booking, it was seamless go to their website, please READ all of the details and book it! They will Email with additional details, communicate with follow up emails, then leading up to your scheduled Ride. Day before the Ride they sent notification reminding me of the time and place we would be picked up. Day of they called to let me know they were at my hotel for pickup. A quick 30 minute ride to their location. We went over all of the safety protocols with "TRAVIS" and if you have a larger than normal head they have a helmet for you too! How I know my husband is a Big guy and they had helmet to fit him! On the Trails "TRAVIS" was our Leadman and "MIKEY" was our wingman for Safety! The Trails; from someone who has NEVER been in the desert let along on a rough terrain while riding a UTV! They were EXTREMELY EXCITING yet with a touch of Scary, but nothing you can't overcome quickly! By the time you're at the 1/2 way point and take a look at the Gorgeous scenery! It's ALL WORTH IT! You will not be disappointed! They picked us up right at our hotel first thing in the morning and drove us out to the desert. Brief information and handed out the gear and we were on our way. (Side note--these helmets are it! Filtered air and keep you cool....!) I'd wear pants with deep pockets, or even zippers. It will get bumpy and stuff in your pockets will fly out. They have bins that they can keep stuff in for you, but you are going to want those zippered pockets for your phones. A girl in our group lost her phone somewhere on the trail. We used the lost iPhone app to try to get a better location on it...but couldn't find it. The ATV crew found it on their next tour and brought it back to us at our hotel--perfectly fine! You should know that this is NOT a flat and even course where you're gonna just go in a straight line or on a paved course. This is literally a trek through the natural terrain including some steep hills on the sides of some cliffs. For most people this isn't a big deal. For the scardey cats, like me, this can be terrifying. My husband drove so I was mostly good but there were periods of yelping, high-pitched screams, and lots of breath-holding. When that wasn't happening, I had a blast! It was a bumpy ride but so beautiful and peaceful. The guides were the sweetest people ever! The guide periodically stopped to check on us but there was no speaker for us to communicate otherwise. They offered round trip transportation to/from our hotel in addition to water and snacks. So friendly! They even accommodated me mid-ride by doing fewer hills. I'm super glad we did this. So much fun! read more

On Any Sunday you could find myself & friends twisting that right grip and 'roosting' the other guy on his dirt bike, later in our trucks and Volkswagens. We imagined ourselves racing the Mint 400 along with Malcom Smith, Steve McQueen, Ivan Man Stewart. Having ridden motocross & Mt. Bikes seriously most of my life I was a bit miffed when I read that the likely top speed was only around 25, I thought...is that all? Well, riding with Ryan & Matt, along with two rookies, with our wives, like myself, we got a serious taste of some of that exact course. Believe me, 25mph in many of the rocky, steep, twisty sections would ensure a crash. However, 25++ on the sweeping banked sand dunes section was a blast. My passenger wife loved it. This company was absolutely amazing - GREAT communication with fast responses from Kelly! They offer police & military discounts*** You also drive for 2 HOURS. there's a lot of companies out there that charge waaaay much more for only a half hour time slot. So do your research!!! This was the best company, time-wise & pricing, in my opinion. We were probably the most annoying customers because we had constant changes to our trip; from hotel pick up to hotel drop off - Kelly made it happen without blinking an eye. Again - so sorry!!! You rock. Kelly will send an email with all your details the night before your excursion! Hotel pick up is so easy. They come in a large van that's comfortable with air conditioning (& seatbelts, lol). And right on time! The riding was awesome - YOU WILL GET DUSTY. Especially if you're in the back of the pack like we were. They allow you to leave your stuff at the trailer if you don't want to bring it. They support phones and cameras on the trail! (I did crack my phone screen glass protection cover somehow lol). There's a bathroom in the trailer to use before you head out! Closed toe shoes are required. I also wore a sweatshirt and shorts, and was completely comfortable. Brian wore a cut off shirt, which got him a nice little rash from the seatbelt - the guides DID offer him some gear to avoid it. He was just being stubborn. Our guides were amazing and so knowledgeable! They're actual desert racers, so it was super neat to get their perspective on a sport I knew nothing about. They also make you feel super confident in your driving. The terrain was incredible - it is super bouncy going up hill. I forgot my Dramamine, but did not have any issues! Don't forget tip money! It's well deserved. Girls - there's a spot where the guides tell you it's a good time to switch if you wanted. I had bought this excursion for my boyfriend, so I wanted to let him drive. And after seeing the terrain, I did get a little intimidated. But once they said it was a little easier at the second stop, we switched & I had a blast! Speaking of stops- we stop about 3x. The guides give you a lay out of the land & drinks! Gatorades and water. At the end of the ride, they give you these awesome towelettes to clean off with, a swag bag with a water bottle!, and more drinks and snacks. All in all - It's an awesome time. read more

Loved the time we had. My wife, daughter and I did a 4 seater today. It was our first time ever doing off-road. We had a 4 seater Polaris vehicle and I drove. Kevin our guide did a great job of explaining everything including the vehicle operation, safety and the various desert terrain we would encounter. The whole experience was great and very professional. Lots of dusty clothes but more fun than dust. The provided lots of cold water and drinks and some snacks at the end. Great way to spend the afternoon. Equipment is solid. Guides are super friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile. Pick up/drop off service is great and the best way to go.. this is not a crawl around behind a guide that isn't going to give you a fun ripping time while driving in a circle in a small space for 2 hrs.. your gonna get out there and not see other people in the off roading area. Have a couple of water breaks (legit water break, not some make you sit here for 20 minutes and burn down the clock kind of break).. this is a great way to experience side by sides!!!! I came here to get married this past weekend and booked for a 2 X 2 man ATV through booking. I had my confirmation emails and everything. The lady otp (Kaitlin) would not accommodate us, saying it was a glitch and I had to pay an additional $460 at the last minute because of their mess up even though I had already paid and had confirmation. The driver was so rude and kept walking off while I was trying to show him my confirmation & in return we ended up not getting to go to the desert to ride unless we paid them again. I felt like they were trying to scam us! Still do, I'm fighting with them still to get my refund back from them refusing to service us after their third parties mistake! Great side by side tour. Equipment was band new, air filtration system for our helmets made sure your head was cool and zero dust was getting in for eyes or lungs. Their set up was very professional, cool drinks on your tour, and snacks when you return. They had shuttle pickup from our hotel that was a great service too. Wow this was the most fun activity we have ever done in Vegas! This also makes a great gift! I got this for my Dad for his birthday and he loved it - it was a super fun way to spend time together! It'd also be perfect for a bachelor party! I researched all of the Vegas off road companies and decided on Desert Off Road Adventures because: 1) they seemed to have the best employees/guides (Kelly who does the admin and picks you up/drops you off at your hotel is super nice and helpful - I had emailed her with some questions and she got back to me really promptly and explained everything great!) All of the guides are professional off road race drivers that actually compete in The Mint race every March off road in Vegas so they know this area super well so they can take you to areas other tour companies don't normally go and they are also literally professional drivers. Kevin and Ryan are the nicest people and they make you feel very comfortable and it's also really neat they know a ton about the area and Vegas's history. My Dad and I both learned a lot of interesting information too so this tour wasn't only fun from a driving/adrenaline aspect but it was also an educational tour too. 2) ALL of the off road vehicles you drive are new and in mint condition! I was worried that some might not be but their entire fleet are 2018 Polaris high end models that they customized with larger wheels and also added what I consider to be the 3rd thing that sets them apart from the other companies: 3) special fancy helmets with air pumped into them. My Dad and I both seriously forgot we were even wearing a helmet they were so comfortable. Also our face didn't get dusty at all - we breathed zero dust! The helmets were an amazing perk! 4) They have great prices and options. You can drive the entire time, switch half way through driving with your passenger, drive alone, ride with someone, ride with a guide...they are very flexible to accommodate your needs! They also offer tours early in the morning for East Coast people up early at 8am, 11am tours for people that want to sleep in a bit after being out late the night before in Vegas, or 2pm tours for those that really want to sleep in or do other things in the morning. They offer 2 hour or 3 hour tours. 5) They offer free pick up in a nice, new van at your hotel and drop you back off after so it's super easy and you don't need to rent a car to get there. Also it's not that long of a drive there/back (about 20 minutes) 6) They give you free bottled water and gatorade at 3 different times during the tour and afterwards you can get more free bottled water and gatorade as well as a bunch of free snacks after driving - they had different types of chips, trail mix, crunchy Cheetos, bars, etc.. They also give you a swag bag full of goodies like a metal water bottle, etc. 7) They have a clean bathroom that you can use at their office before and after the tour 8)They offer gift certificates and nice gift packs that make really impressive gifts 9) They take really great photos of you and you can see Vegas from neat vista points outside the city 10) They have an informative website where it's really easy to book your tour (or you can call or email them too!) 11) They only do small group tours so it's not overcrowded - or you can reserve a private tour! Everyone in our small group was very nice - it was us plus a family of 4. I could go on and on but bottom line this was super fun and I felt totally safe the whole time and had a blast! Also we saw some other tour groups out there but the Desert Off Road Adventures vehicles we were driving were way nicer than the other companies and we went in better areas of the desert since Kevin and Ryan are so experienced! I'm already planning to be a repeat customer and get this as a gift for my husband since he was jealous when I showed him all the photos and videos that he wanted to go too and I totally want to go back and do this again ASAP! I highly recommend Desert Off Road Adventures - if you have any doubt just call or email them - they are the nicest, most helpful people and you should totally book your tour today! My group and I (8) joined Desert Off Road Adventures for a two hour drive through incredibly dangerous terrain on Saturday May 28th. We paid $1500+ for the total cost of the reservation and private party experience. Unfortunately, after the experience there was a $500 additional charge placed on my credit card without any notice provided from the Company either directly by the staff on Saturday or over email by the business manager. The charge was placed to address 'damages' to one of the vehicles after the drive. There was an accident during the drive that was entirely accidental and the driver was exercising adequate care of the vehicle at the time, the severe difficulty of the driving course caused the crash to occur, not the driver's fault. At the time of the crash our friends were fortunately not seriously injured. After this, the vehicle was diligently reviewed by the staff who did not communicate that there was any damage as a result. We came back to the main site with the staff, who we generously gave $100 in gratuity to, who at this time also did not communicate that this charge was going to be placed. The vehicle itself appeared completely fine after the incident, as the tour guide (Ryan) drove it at much quicker speeds than the average person in our group for an additional hour. This charge is fraudulent and the lack of transparency provided by the Company is entirely unprofessional. I would recommend against using Desert Off Road Adventures ------------------------------------------------------------ FYI, I am editing this initial review to change from 1 star to 3 stars. We were able to get in contact with Kelly the business manager who returned the gratuity we provided. After the car was reviewed by a 3rd party mechanic, the damages were deemed to be small enough that Desert Off Road Adventures has taken responsibility for paying for them. I still wish there was better transparency at the time of the event for these circumstances and have shared my feedback with the Company. I hope they are upfront about this in the future to prevent any miscommunication with customers read more
