Our guide was very thorough when explaining the do's and don'ts of riding through the trails and how to drive the UTV's. The pricing was very comprehensive for the amount of time we spent out in the desert. Quick Tip: If you're riding in the warmer months of the year do yourself a favor and ride early morning or in the evening. This may seem like an obvious tip, but you'd be surprised. Back to the review.. Even though the machines are very powerful, my wife and I felt safe the whole time and the fact that a COMM setup is available made the experience so much better. The packet pickup was at Popstroke, located at TownSquare on Thursday between 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. I had a family member pick up my packet for me since I was at a local conference. You could also pick up your packet on race day at 7:00 A.M. This time, the race was held at Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex, located off of Summerlin Parkway/Durango exit. There is plenty of parking available. The race start and finish line was at the same location, which was great! The first thing that stood out about the atmosphere was how much this event focused on being community based and family oriented! Because the overall mission behind this event is to celebrate Moms in our community, the atmosphere was amazing! There was Kona Ice food truck, face painting, PopStroke (mini golf) and more! I thought the actual race was great as far as organization goes. Signs were clearly posted everywhere, and events went off on time. It was hot though! The race started at 80 degrees, and by the time I was done, it was 90 out! Some of the 10k runners ended up just running the 5k and getting their time adjusted. The race path at Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex was not flat. It went uphill for the first two miles, and then downhill. After the race, there was a single flower provided to all Moms and a race medal! There was water and a electrolyte drink as well. Snacks were located in a tent, away from the start/finish line. There was also awards for top finishers in certain brackets! It was a great run though and a wonderful event!

Nature she is surrounding us. We are basking in her glory. Come and play. This little park is a beautiful spot to rest and fill up that water bottle and use the restroom. The wetlands park is under you and all around you. Stay and play for a bit too. Can you ride the big road runner. Come up out of the egg. Use your immersion of your mind and be a kid. Walk out onto the outlook and see what nature is. This is not a casino. It's the real outdoors. The beauty is all around you . Enjoy !

The restrooms are about as clean as you can reasonably expect for a public park (which honestly says a lot), and there's a water fountain where you can easily refill your bottle before or after a run. Small detail, big win. It's about 1.3 miles from here to the Wells Trailhead, and the pavement is pretty evenly laid out, making it great for running. There are posted signs warning about coyotes and rattlesnakes, so definitely keep that in mind nature likes to remind you who was here first. I've only seen a pack of coyotes once in the late afternoon, closer toward the Pabco Trail where it's a bit more wooded. I ran into them from about 20 feet away my heart probably skipped a beat but they didn't even look in my direction. Apparently I wasn't interesting enough that day. Overall, this is my favorite park and trail to run. It's peaceful, well kept, and just wild enough to keep things interesting.

Craig, the tour guide, is very knowledgeable and passionate about both craft beer and Las Vegas. Tourists will definitely learn a lot about our city and its craft beer scene, but as a local, I even learned a few things! The breweries on the tour are some of the best in Vegas and offer some of their best beers on the flights. Bonus, each brewery is not too far from each other, so there's not too much walking happening at any one time. Plus you get an up close look at the Arts District murals. We were in a group with people we didn't know, and Craig did a great job of integrating everyone and helping us get to know one another. By the end of the tour it was like we were drinking with good friends! This is definitely a great way to get acquainted with our city's craft beer scene, or just have a fun night out where you don't have to think about the drinks. Cheers!

Even going just one exit too far takes you all the way to Arizona. - Parking was a disaster with one person pointing where to turn in to a field with gravel and shrubs but no one directing cars to actual rows/spaces. Hopefully no one got a flat. - Considering the price of the race itself was ($45) I was annoyed to also have to pay $10 entry fee to the park, cash only (but they did mention this ahead of time). - Disliked how the course started with an immediate incline, and ended with us facing directly into the sun (downside to an out-and-back route). Not ideal for the finish-line photos, either. Despite the drawbacks (mostly related to the location), I would participate in this event again. Hopefully some of these simple organization strategies could be implemented to make it a more enjoyable time for all. As a personal pet peeve, I would do away with allowing strollers on the run. I saw two fanatical stroller parents almost mowing people down, and others having to stop repeatedly forcing traffic to go around them.
