He did an excellent job in evaluating my vision needs. Including pointing out an element of double vision that had not been corrected in my previous eyeglass prescription. There is an amazing amount of state of the art optical equipment in the office. Dr. Kelsch and all of his staff are knowledgeable in how to use the equipment they are assigned to use within their level of training. The staff documented the physical elements of my eyes and Dr. Kelsch did the visual examination to write the prescription for my glasses. Just like medical office staff uses basic equipment like blood pressure cuffs and pulse oximeters to relate basic physical characteristics to the doctor before he examines the patient. The doctor, the front office staff, and all of the employees in the office are extremely polite, professional, and knowledgeable. I have very high confidence in the doctor, the equipment, and all of the staff.

The information hadn't been entered into the computer. So every time I called I got a run around. And given another number to call. I know mistakes happen causing people to fall through the cracks. Looks like I have to run into the office AGAIN on Tuesday. Although someone called me and left a message to call back to schedule a consultation with an ophthalmologist, when I called back no one had any idea what I was talking about. I do want to say the surgeon who did my cataract surgery was fantastic. And would like to get this procedure done as quickly as possible, the floaters and white flashes aren't pleasant. MORE TO COME...

I…read moreconsulted with 3 Ophtalmologists. 2 of them suggested the removal of the IOL, let the eye heal, then implant a new IOL at a suitable location. The 3rd Surgeon, Dr. John Carlson, proposed a very aggressive surgery, where he would remove the IOL ("possibly tearing the retina"), and while at it, implant an IOL by experimenting. I'd have a surgery-induced GLAUCOMA for several months. Risks for blindness: 10 percent. I did not proceed.  Instead, I got an external eye lens, enabling me to see with my right eye, but blurry, with double vision, and size blow-up not matching my left eye. Yet, it enabled me to drive, function, and navigate through life. Last December, the DMV did a Senior-Driver-Eye-Test, where I was unable to read the very small prints from a distance of about 20 or more feet, with my right eye. They gave me a license extension for 3 months and asked me to find a solution.  I went to Milaukas Eye Institute in Palm Springs to have a better external lense produced for my right eye. Dr. Taleb said that The Retina Consultants Of California decided that my Macular Eye Disease classified me as BLIND, as there was atrophy, diagnosed by Dr. Carlson. Dr. Carslon, in an attempt to guarantee his failure, not success, had determined falsely that my IOL dislocation was not the main problem, but the AMD. Absolutely wrong, as my vision was very very good in both eyes before the IOL dislocation, despite AMD. Dr. Talep apparently joined Dr. Carlson in his misleading/wrong assessments and told me that I was blind in my right eye due to AMD. His refraction test was absurd. Every time I would see the letters better, as they were thicker and had maximum contrast, he would skip that setting and scroll to a very bad setting, blurring my vision. I objected to his blindness diagnosis. He then referred me to Dr Yoh in Palm Springs. Apparently, he was ordered to repeat the same findings. Dr. Yoh too skipped the best test settings and scrolled to the blurriest settings. You are blind in your right eye and will never pass the DMV test, no matter what you do, he repeated, at least 10 times. He proposed a contact lense, alleging it would give me "better night vision", but I would still be blind in my right eye and never pass the DMV test. What an idiotic proposal to produce a contact lense with no function to see better. After the appointment, I called Milaukas to cancel the useless lense. Nobody picks up the phone at Milaukas. I left a message. No call back. I sent a written message. No call back. I sent a fax. No reaction. Then Dr. Yoh called me, to tell me I should get the lense, alleging it would help me with night vision, but I would still be blind and never pass the DMV test. He was unwilling to accept the lense cancellation, of course, to fixate on his profit. The next day, they started over with the lense order, disregarding my cancellation. I sent another message, another phone call, and now I am writing this review, to make it official, publicly. Milaukas' ONLY interest is profit. Dr. Carlson's double-surgery involved maximal risk for blindness and retinal damage, but  BIG profit for him. And to put the burden on me, he guaranteed his failure, not success. He blamed my vision inaccuracy in my R eye not on the dislocated IOL, but AMD, to confuse the facts severely. Talep and Yoh wasted my time by joining Dr. Carlson, in an effort to anker the wrong dx of "blind due to AMD", instead of allowing me to have the best external lense possible. Manipulation of the refraction test by skipping the best setting, is what they do, to fool you into believing your eye is bad. The crime of making a patient believe something that is not true, is now practiced in many clinics, to boost profit for themselves. Fake xrays (manipulated), false cancer dx, needless hysterectomies, needless tooth extractions....and now false vision dx, are all in their repertoire to fool you.  DO NOT GET FOOLED ! Go elsewhere, don't waste your time/money. In fact, simple Optometrists with no ties to fraudster Ophthalmologists are your better choice. If necessary, don't use your insurance, to get a neutral dx. Insurances are often co-conspirators and defend/protect fraud-practicing providers. The industry of health care is in the hands of the Medical Mafia. Beware.

Unless you are retired and have nothing else to do for the entire day, I recommend asking for a referral elsewhere. Dr. Chan consistently runs 1.5 to 2 hours behind schedule....and I am NOT exagerating. The first visit, the doctor did not see my husband until 2 hours after his appointment time. The second visit...he was only running behind by 1.5 hours. In our last visit....he was running a full 2 hours behind schedule. The appointment was at 10:00 and the Dr. didn't see my husband until just after 12:00 p.m. No once did he acknowledge or apologize for the delay. When I asked the front desk each time if he was running behind....I was told that he always runs behind schedule. That the problem isn't the doctor's schedule...but a lack of adequate screening rooms. I'm a recruiter. If I have to schedule 10 interviews...and all interview participants are available...but I only have 5 rooms...I only schedule 5 interviews. This is not difficult, people. The front desk told me that Dr. Chan "runs his office this way"...and they were totally dismissive about it. I requested the next appoinment be scheduled early morning. They confirmed the doctor starts at 8:00...but refused to book me before 10:00 for the next appointment. The only reason I've not told them to take a flying leap is that my husband is mid-way through a specific treatment. So, we will have to deal with this a little longer. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE SITTING IN A WAITING ROOM FOR AT LEAST 1.5-2 HOURS. THIS IS THE WAY DR. CHAN RUNS HIS BUSINESS ACCORDING TO HIS STAFF. STAFF NOR THE DOCTOR GIVE A FLYING LEAP ABOUT THE PATIENTS INCONVENIENCE.

So of course I was about an hour late to the Palm Springs location. When we arrived I was courteously greeted and explained my mistake. There was no yelling, no fuss, no rude response. The staff was eager to slip me in very late in the afternoon. Dr Lemming saw me as his last patient on the day. He was very thorough in his examination, not hurried, all the while being professional, caring and polite. He prescribed two medications, one which they had in the office.
