Desert radiology literally TRAUMATIZED me. They had trainees stabbing me over and over again incapable to find a vein (and no wonder with how carelessly they were doing it) They pulled the needle out without taking the tourniquet off. Blood was running down my arms and they did nothing to help me. They just said "bye" when I asked them to stop. I left with blood all over me, full of barium and was throwing up all day because of it. On top of that, I never found out what's wrong with me because of this experience. Absolutely the most incompetent billing department. Too lazy to type my husband's full name on the claim, even though it was given to the billing department correct try numerous times, filed incorrectly with Medicare and claim was rejected, so threading me with collections for their incompetence. I would give a -10 if I could. read more

Once I called and heard the automated message say X-Rays are walk in only, I looked up the nearest Desert Radiology and this location came up. Kayanna was very kind and inviting. After I filled out my paperwork Theresa called me over and gave me some paper to give to the radiologist. She was very sweet as well. Inna called me in to take my X- Rays and did it quickly with no hassle. I was in and out fast so I'd recommend this location. read more

Couldn't even get an appointment made. The scheduling is all done off shore, you can't understand them. Even though the referral was sent over 2 times electronically, and I had a copy of it, they still couldn't figure out how to get an appointment made for a simple CT. read more

I had not been to this location of Desert Radiology. I had an appoint,ment for a CT scan at thweir Rainbow location. I got a call that morning that tyheir scanner was bnot workimng. They fitted me in to an earlier time slot at DR on Palomino Lane. I was at the check in very quickly and I was given the second bottle of barium to drink before the scan. I has a seat and after about a 15 minute wait, my name was called and I went in the inner sanctum where the MRI and scan machines are. The tech was very freindly and put me at ease for this. Even though I've had several scans, this was the first time with barium and I was unsettled by that. Within about 10 minutes, the two areas that were scanned from my doctor's orders was complete. I stopped a moment to say goodbye to the very pleasant woman who checked me in. This shames Rainbow DR. It is so easy checking in and getting ready your procedure. read more

My Gastroenterologist send orders to DR but made a coding error. DR charged me a $175 copay that I know was wrong. They required payment before my 1 July '25 procedure so I did. Now that the error is fixed they have been UNRESPONSIVE to return my copay back to my credit card. I filed a credit card dispute but DR returned financial responsibility and would not refund my payment. I have emailed docts to their billing dept. but have gone unanswered. I have taken my business elsewhere now. The tech. was kind and helpful. She calmed my down for the procedure since I was so frustrated with DR admin. read more

WATCH OUT when you go to Desert Radiology! Their office staff is incompetent. I had an MRI performed June 17th at 3920 S. Eastern Ave. They erroneously charged me $188.67! I called my insurance company and verified that my co-payment should have been $75. My insurance company told me that Desert Radiology had 30 days to correct their error. Just spoke to them. It's been 99 days. They told me they needed more time to prepare a check. I have called them numerous times and so has my insurance company. I even have an email from Aug. 5 saying that "The Ventra Team" is reviewing my refund and it was assigned to Venkatesh Srinivasan. Still nothing. They are a bunch of crooks. read more

A Mixed Experience at Desert Radiology: Excellent Care, Frustrating Prescription Process My recent experience at Desert Radiology for a kidney cryoablation procedure was a tale of two halves. On one hand, the medical team--from the doctor performing the cryoablation to the anesthesiologist--was absolutely phenomenal. The procedure itself went great, and I felt I was in incredibly capable hands. Their expertise and care during a stressful time were truly commendable. However, the post-procedure experience, specifically regarding pain medication, was deeply frustrating and, frankly, unacceptable. The doctor prescribed narcotics and provided a written script. Unaware of the specific Nevada laws regarding controlled substances, and still recovering from the procedure, I didn't question it. My sister attempted to fill the prescription, only to be informed that Nevada law requires narcotic prescriptions to be sent digitally. What followed was a cascade of unhelpful suggestions and increasing pain. When I called Desert Radiology, I was advised to try another pharmacy. Walgreens also refused to fill it due to the digital requirement. By then, the office was closed, and I spent the night in excruciating pain. The next morning, I called the moment they opened. I was again asked to try yet another pharmacy, Walmart, with the suggestion they might have "less strict rules" (a concerning statement given it's a legal requirement). When Walmart also refused, I was told to physically retrieve the rejected script from Walgreens, bring it to Desert Radiology for an endorsement stating they lacked digital access, and then take it to CVS, who they "guaranteed" would fill it. In my post-procedure pain and limited mobility, this was an impossible ask. I explained I couldn't undertake such a task, and their only alternative was to prescribe Tylenol or ibuprofen. As a result, I endured three days of intense pain, relying solely on over-the-counter medication, because I could not get the pain relief I needed and was prescribed. While the medical care received during the cryoablation was outstanding, the lack of a system for digitally prescribing narcotics is a significant and serious flaw, especially given Nevada law requires it. This oversight caused me immense unnecessary suffering and logistical nightmares. It is imperative that Desert Radiology updates its systems to comply with state regulations to prevent other patients from enduring such a distressing and painful experience. read more

On may 15, 2025 I had a CT scan and a MRI done at the Palomino office. I had a DR appointment on 5/29/2025 to go over results with Las Vegas Urology Dr. Llya Gorbachinsky 2310 Corporate Circle Suite 200 Henderson, NV 89074 . Dr office called me that morning and told me not to come in because DR had not done the report. We scheduled another appointment for TODAY 6/10/2025 and he still has not gotten the MRI report he got the CT report BUT NOT THE MRI ! I am more than pissed at DR, What is going on? I am very unhappy with the switching around of where you can go for a CAT scan. I usually go to Viking and flamingo. I was told today they're not doing CAT scans there anymore. I have to go clear across town to another place to get a CAT scan. this is ridiculous. This company is getting too independent for me. I will see about switching to a different company and see if I can do that through my insurance. I'm tired of it. How many people are getting unhappy with them and then when you call and they're at the Palomino in Las Vegas, on the phone, you can't understand them. First it took almost 2 hours on hold just to schedule an appointment. Next they tell you to show up early to do paperwork, but you wait almost 1/2 hour for them to check you in, but there were no patients at any of windows, just the front line staff sitting behind their plexi glass. I was having a scan that they told me requires dye, so I had to be at their location an hour before the scheduled time, but they made me wait. As I write this I am still sitting waiting to be called back for the testing. This is the worst run business and has no respect for the patients time. Walked in there is a guy at the door that walks you in explains that there is limited seating and shows you the patient check in. Checked in immediately since all my paper work was filled out and updated at another Desert Radiology when I made my appointment, it made walking in super quick. There was a little wait to go back to get my ultrasound but everyone was friendly. Office was pretty clean and they offer water if you didn't bring your own. Office isn't that big so don't bring multiple people with you. Even though the security man at the entrance states it's limited seating and for patients to take priority of sitting there was several people that weren't here for anything and were comfortably sitting while patients in pain stand. read more

Going for an invasive procedure is never easy. However the entire team at Desert radiology palomino location does everything to help you thru it. Scheduling my procedure was easy, they moved my date up because of a cancellation which I truly appreciated. The check in staff is so courteous despite being so busy. My special thanks to Dr.Keifer and Sterotactic biopsy tech Cathy for being so compassionate, kind and respectful. Dr.Keifer went over my options and help me chose what was best for me. Every encounter I've had with DR has been seamless and pleasant. All the staff, from the front desk to the techs have always been kind, helpful, and professional. The wait time has always been reasonable too. The only thing I don't like is when I can't get into the Pahrump office for tests and I have to drive to Vegas to get them done at another center which has more availability of appointment times and staff. To be fair, this is not just a problem with DR in Pahrump but with most medical services here. The little city is growing and the medical services have not yet managed to catch up. read more

I have had to frequent the Palomino location recently. I've never had a parking issue. Each time I enter the building, I'm greeted with a friendly and helpful front desk staff. Every nurse, doctor (Mazzou) and technician has been very informative, professional and kind. My wait time has never been more than 20 minutes. Avoid this place if you can!! Their staff is rude, ignorant, and ill equipped to handle their job. The place is overcrowded and filthy! To add insult to injury, they're heavily overbooked. I am forced to use DR because of my insurance. Im retired. I have been trying to call them, with a question related to my appointment today, since Monday. I have called 4-6 times each day and hung up after a 45 minute hold. My phone experience with them is always the same. Please read the many reviews written here by disgusted individuals whose minds are blown by the overall lack of competence by front office staff. Not the most compassionate group either. I have now been on hold for 30 minutes as I write this review. I have only ever had an Ultrasound at this place. Pretty basic procedure. In and out relatively quickly. I am hoping to switch my Advantage plan coverage this year so I can see MD's who care about their patients. The doctors know this is happening so they are not off the hook either. Desert Rad has too much business to handle. Boo-hoo. It takes a week or more for an MD order to show up in their system. CANNOT answer their phones in a timely manner. "We are experiencing higher than usual call volume." That hold message has been that for years. Supervisor Ken says they're trying to hire more people. When ? I would love to vote with my feet, but my insurance is contracted with them and only them, a fact that works to their advantage. One wonders if their billing department has enough staff. Due to her experience at this location she preferred to get her results from a different location. The palomino location said that she could pick him up that day she said she couldn't until today and they said they would be waiting for her at this other location . She is currently there with her toddler waiting to pick up her results to find out that the palomino locations incompetence did not follow through and order her MRI results. The customer service here isn't great. The technicians are busy & bedside manner isn't their priority. For someone that has huge anxiety surrounding MRI scans -I felt that any of the technicians that were dealing with me could have handled me better however once I was drugged their brisk attitudes were less noticeable. Front desk staff was friendly enough. I was finally able to complete an MRI, but only 3 stars because much of the credit should go to an ex DR employee that 100% explained the process to me & helped me figure out which machine would work best for my situation. Game changer. I get it sometimes it's a drag dealing with people but it doesn't hurt to have a little bit of patience & kindness. read more

Care Quality at the facility was good. It is DR's billing that is not good. My insurance covers 100% yet DR bills me and I have to call in (twice) to get "the back office" to recognize the insurance and correct billing. This is after I receive statements stating late payment notice. I have been to DR with a past insurance company and with the current insurance coverage. I always had to call in to handle it. DO NOT RECOMMEND DR due to poor billing department at two different facilities. read more

First of all the I'm very scared with needle, I had my 1st biopsy last 2015 and it's very painful, now my Doctor told me to do it again here in Las Vegas so I'm hesitating to do it because I'm so scared, when I went to Desert Radiology in Palomino to do the 2nd time the technician Cheryl is very nice and comfort me holding my hand during the procedure, then Dr William Perry is absolutely nice while he is doing the my procedure he is asking me about my work and I'm so surprised the procedure is done for 4 minutes and its 100% painless, I would like to thank Cheryl and Dr Perry for the job well done !!! My experience at Desert Radiology may be the single worst health care experience I have ever had. Some falls on the doctor, but Desert Radiology's set up for scheduling is the worst I've ever experienced. When you ACTUALLY get a hold of a human they are understanding and they try to accommodate, but the biggest problem is ACTUALLY speaking with someone. My doctor changed the type of test I needed. They sent over an updated order (apparently), but then I still needed to schedule the procedure. It took three phone calls. I waited on hold for 30 minutes during the first two attempts, and I had to hang up because i have responsibilities that make waiting on hold for extended periods of time difficult, as most adults do. I also tried the "online appointment request" thinking that they would give me a direct number to call someone. Nope. They called me while I was in a meeting and couldn't answer. When I checked the message, they gave me the same number I'd already been on hold on. On my third attempt I waited on hold for over an hour. When I finally got thru, they had the wrong order, so I had to place DR on hold, and use my wife's phone to call the doctors office to get that sorted out. Once that was done I got the appointment scheduled. Fast forward to the day before the exam. I get a call from DR saying that they had the wrong order, and all I need is an x-ray, which can be done in a walk on basis. So after waiting two weeks for an appointment I get told the day before that I can just walk in, which I could have done anytime in the prior two weeks! I called my doctors office to verify what I was being told. The information was accurate, but after I complained about how hard it was to get into Desert Radiology, the office staff said that they have the same complaints. They have to wait on hold for hours as a doctors office! I was told their imaging quality is superior to other companies in Las Vegas, so that's why they put up with it. So, now it's the day of the procedure. I go to check in, and I'm asked for my referral. I say that I was never given a referral, but my doctor should have sent it over. The girl checking me in checked the system, and couldn't find it. I explained to her the situation and she was just as annoyed as I was. I told her what I needed, and she just put it in the system. I got my x-ray, and was on my way. *update* Desert Radiology called as I was writing this to ask if I was still available to get the original procedure!!! While I was on the phone they discovered the note that said the doctors office called and said I only needed an x-ray, but WHAT A JOKE! The people who work for desert radiology are pleasant to deal with, it's just hard getting someone to speak with. Other companies in Las Vegas let you schedule online. It is 2023, so I don't understand why Desert Radiology hasn't moved into the 21st century. It's great that they are the best, but my time is valuable. It doesn't matter if you have the best product and the best people. When you don't treat your customers right, people will not do business with you when given the choice. Don't disrespect your customers by not valuing their time. You can tell that the staff at Desert Radiology have been trained to deal with difficult people, because dealing with this company has undoubtedly pushed people to the brink, especially people with much more serious medical conditions than I have. The staff laughed at my husband's Asian name & seemed to be somewhat biased towards Asian Americans. My husband is a disabled military minority veteran who fought for this country. We did not appreciate this type of treatment. The staff acted like they're in high school. I wouldn't take my cat here to get an x-ray done. The staff is unprofessional & laughs at patients when they're sitting right in the waiting room. If I could give this place a -5, I would. It's pathetic that a disabled minority military veteran gets his cultural name made fun of because the staff are too incompetent & down right dumb to properly pronounce a patient's name. read more
