I'm writing this review based on repeated negative experiences at Pueblo Medical Imaging's Henderson location, specifically related to the front desk staff. While I understand that medical facilities can become busy and stressful, there is no excuse for the lack of professionalism, attentiveness, and basic courtesy consistently demonstrated by the administrative team at this location. From the moment I entered the facility, I felt dismissed rather than welcomed. The front desk employees displayed behavior that was not only unprofessional, but also discourteous. On multiple occasions, I observed staff laughing loudly among themselves while actively "assisting" clients. Rather than making patients feel heard and respected--especially those who may already be stressed or anxious about their medical procedures--they seemed distracted and uninterested in providing meaningful support. What was particularly frustrating was the complete lack of eye contact or active listening. When I asked questions about paperwork and scheduling, I was either ignored mid-sentence or given short, dismissive answers--often while the staff continued chatting among themselves or glancing at their phones. Any attempt to gain clarity or ask for assistance was treated as an inconvenience rather than a part of their job responsibilities. This is especially disappointing for a healthcare imaging center, where patients come with serious health concerns. At the very least, patients deserve basic respect and professional interaction. Instead, the disorganization and inattentiveness made an already stressful experience worse. To be clear, this review is not a reflection of the imaging technicians or medical professionals at Pueblo--who may very well be doing excellent work behind the scenes. But the front line of any medical facility is the first impression, and in this case, that impression is consistently negative and, frankly, unacceptable. I strongly encourage Pueblo Medical Imaging's management to take this feedback seriously and invest in proper training--or re-evaluation--of the front desk staff. A welcoming, professional, and attentive front office is not optional in healthcare; it is a necessity. Until changes are made, I will be looking for alternative imaging centers in the area and will advise others to do the same unless they're prepared for a frustrating and disrespectful experience right from the front door. PS: Considering the consistency in these behaviors from visiting this location in between multiple years 4-5 family friends & so on, it's more than likely the feedback won't be taken.. Nor will the mgmt & or employees clean this up & act like they care about assisting clients that walk in giving the location business....... Rarely take the time to even think about giving ratings... If it was possible that you could give a negative star rating, I would. Front desk is unbelievably lackadaisical.

Hello Yelp Friends!…read more I just called to schedule my annual mammogram and a breast US. The gal I spoke with was Margaret, she said I could call her Marga. She was very pleasant. I explained that I was notified they received my orders and I needed to schedule an appt for July. She explained that my two tests would need to be scheduled back to back and that the schedule was full for July. I explained that I was just starting a new job and my insurance will be changing and I don't have my new insurance info yet. She was very reassuring and said that I could call back just as soon as I have the info and ask for her and she will help me get scheduled. My Dr. order is good for a year so there should not be a gap in my care. I was relieved to hear that and pleased she was so helpful. I feel that she provided excellent customer service and I will definitely ask for her when I call back to schedule my appt. I highly recommend SDMI. They always provide great patient care and excellent customer service. Check them out.

What should have been a simple MRI turned into an entire afternoon of inefficiency and frustration…read more Prior to arriving at the office, Steinberg employees need to review procedures, ask some medical questions, discuss the scan, etc. This phone conversation took about half an hour the week prior to the test. The next day I received an email to check in on line. That was another half hour or more answering the same questions on the computer. The day before I was to have an MRI at the Sienna location, we received a call rescheduling to the N. Gibson office. Now that I've been rescheduled to a different location, the electronic questions must be answered again. Another 30 minutes or so. Arriving 15 minutes before the recommended half hour early time, there were a couple of people ahead of me at the front desk. When it was my turn to speak with someone, I told them my name and was advised to sit down and we will call you in a couple of minutes (to deal with insurance cards, etc.). One of the receptionists was knee deep in a complicated billing discussion with a patient, and the other was on the computer ignoring people. Seven or eight other patients arrived after we did, and were also told to have a seat, we'll call you. Each of those people were called and I sat patiently waiting. 45 minutes later, as my MRI was supposed to be starting, I went back up to the front desk and again gave my name. The receptionist checked the computer and said I wasn't on the list any more. Not sure what that meant, but we needed to check in, so I was a little more assertive and convinced him to take copies of my ID cards, etc. I have a fairly common first name and, due to HIPAA Privacy laws, staff only uses the first name of the patient when calling them for their scan. This led to a good deal of confusion in the lobby. In the area where scans are done, there is a second waiting room. Upon receiving my gown and socks, etc. I was given a clipboard with more paperwork to review and sign (what was duplicate information previously done multiple times). An employee called my name and walked me back in the direction of the MRI machine, pausing first to review all of the paperwork, signatures, etc. while I waited in my gown and socks. Then told to please go sit back down. All together, this paperwork and check in fiasco took nearly an hour. The MRI was a 20 minute event and done. So arriving at 2:45, we left about 5 pm. We have recommendations for improving the efficiency of the office if anyone in management would care to contact us.

Being a "seasoned citizen" I've had far more experiences than most needing typical scans. With that in mind, I believe I am qualified to say: SimonMed provides one of the best experiences and overall environments for getting doctor-ordered scans I have ever witnessed or in which I participated. No close second vote--they've got it nailed! I read several reviews prior to choosing SimonMed where they complained about long wait times, hassles finding doctor orders, etc. Thankfully the review with the most impact said the key was completing ALL form submissions and preregistration possible ONLINE. They also recommended having a copy of the Doctor's order IN HAND, just in case. Upon arrival (15 mins before my appointment which they recommended) they scanned my ID and insurance cards and asked me to be seated in the waiting room. I was called just about five mins after my appointment time which was a wonderful exception to the rule! My life experience tell me the wait will ALWAYS be 30 mins PLUS! The technician was calm, funny, warm and engaging. The ONLY complaint I had was her refusal to share with me, THE PATIENT, any of what she was or was not seeing. See explained that she would be instantly fired if she broke protocol. I get it. But that meant having to worry another couple days. Bottom line: do your part, be prepared ahead of time with everything needed for the clinic, bring copies of everything and enjoy a far better experience than most facing these tests.

The older and more experienced woman assisting this arrogant kid did not say a word while he insisted to me that I could and should wear my metal dentures in the MRI. Fortunately I did not listen to this idiot lab tech boy doing my MRI and I removed my metal dentures at the last minute before getting in the MRI machine. That decision might have saved my life I found out later. I have no idea how in the world something like this could ever happen, but it did. Fortunately I remembered from a previous MRI that ALL METAL needed to be removed from my mouth and my entire body to avoid DEATH OR SERIOUS BODILY INJURY!! I have since talked to several doctors and personal injury lawyers about this MRI experience and they all agree this was either total and complete incompetence by two SimonMed employees or maybe something much worse like racism!! The problem with wearing metal in a MRI machine is that it can not just screw up the tests and damage the MRI machine, IT CAN ALSO KILL YOU OR CAUSE SERIOUS AND PERMANENT BODILY HARM!!! The desert landscaping is cute and well-maintained! Inside, the building is spacious, clean, plus staff is friendly, and always willing to help. Most recently, I had a CT scan with dye and this was my first. The CT scan dye is different than an MRI with dye, so FYI. Part of the prep was to drink lots and lots of water starting an hour before the procedure and then again more water afterwards, including bringing a water bottle with me. Since I was wearing stretchy clothes, I could keep them on and only needed to take off any metal, including my bra. There are numerous lockers in the imaging waiting room, that I could lock away my bra and water bottle, then take the key with me. I always take my purse/valuables into the imaging room. Once in the room, I signed some paperwork, and the attendant asked if I had allergies and on rare occasions, a person could be allergic to the iodine dye used on the CT scan. She administered an IV on my selected arm (right) and when it was time, ran a little contrast into my vein to test and all was good (if there was a reaction, an itchy feeling in my throat could come up). When the full contrast is injected, I experienced a warm feeling all over. It faded within a minute or two, and then I just felt myself again. The CT machine is a donut vs an MRI tunnel. The CT machine is very fast; the whole procedure took about 15 minutes. There is a computer voice that talks and tells me what to do as the table gets pulled in and out of the donut. "Breathe in and hold it", then release. I had to do this multiple times. Also, the attendant guided me to put my arms above my head before everything started. I had a headrest and a leg rest. It was very comfortable.
