Walked in at 3:30pm Friday and the room was full but I was told by the receptionist after I waited in line for 5 mins, that it will only take 20-30 mins to be seen, and I liked that but now it's 4pm and X-rays close at 4pm so we'll see if they can do my X-rays today! I asked her if I should come back early morning but she insisted today was fine! I like that they have tv, clean restrooms, free WiFi, nice staff, air conditioning, comfortable seats, and this nice flyer on the wall! I defiantly feel the same way! Anyways, let's see how it goes! Spoke to insurance they said that DR needed to notify me at least 10 days from when I made the appointment to let me know they haven't received authorization. Genuinely been the worst experience of my life. Ive needed 4 mri's here, my stupid piece of crap insurance Ambetter has screwed me over and denied me for 10 months now. meaning ive had the misfortune of having to deal with Desert Radiology scheduling multiple times as it kept getting rescheduled and canceled. finally got one brain mri approved, scheduled. the scheduling office is outsourced to several people all who do mot understand even simple english phrases, and have an attitude. with a migraine and daily seizures, waiting on hold and then trying to deal with them who dont understand how awful american health insurance is, did not schedule the right tests for me. i said specifically the brain mri over and over, but i also made them schedule ALL like 8 orders. even tho i knew a handful would he denied again. I am bed bound, having seizures, the amount of work it takes me to get out of bed and house is astronomical. i finally get to go. they pull me out of the mri machine without doing contrast. so im like oh excuse me i think i need contrast for my brain mri today too. no, you didnt get a brain mri today. just head and neck mra. that they charged me over $646 for. the wrong test. so im sobbing and hitting my head. my last bit of energy and any hope i had left. might as well die. because i already called the scheduling over 8 times last month alone and of course it was all for nothing. By the way anyone who tries emailing like they offer on the website for someone to get back with you instead of you calling and waiting on hold......dont bother. bc i emailed at least 7 times, never heard back. Desert Radiology isnt directly killing me like Ambetter is, but has contributed to ruining my life today. i truly dont expect to live much longer. i cant do this any more. truly. i have nothing left. no money. no hope. no energy to shower in months. i cant make it to any more appt i physically used up my last ditch effort to make it today. for nothing. no brain mri, the one thing i asked over and over. dont even think oh ill call and double check with the scheduling office to confirm with a different person if ALL MY TESTS WERE SCHEDULE BECAUSE I FLOPPING DID THAT AND THEY SAID YES. i hope i die this week. I will never ever use desert radiology again. the techs didnt listen to the plethora of problems i listed why i was even there. they didnt care. about anything. no one does. So if i hadnt said excuse me my mri needs contrast when the lady pulled me out & said im done, i wouldve left without even knowing she didnt even do a brain mri. i wouldve went home thinking i finally got the mri completed, the small timeframe deadline stupid Ambetter gave me would have passed. IM THE ONE SICK AND HAVE NEUROLOGICAL CONDITIONS AND SEIZURES YET IM THE ONLY ONE WHO IS COMPETENT. So to reiterate, yhey all made it sound and seem like im getting a brain mri, but did not listen to me state why i was there, didnt communicate what tests they charged me for or what was going on. IMPOSSIBLE to make an appointment online. Also, to make an appointment by calling, your doctor must have sent the referral (lab requisition) 3 to 5 business days earlier. It takes them "3 to 5 business days" to check their fax machine for the Dr.'s referral. SO UNHELPFUL. Moreover, if you need an x-ray, forget it, they don't even take appointments, it's "first come, first serve." Terrible experience. Finally after 9 months their error has been corrected. It took sending emails to the CEO, HR Director, Marketing, Customer Service, and Billing plus registered letters to get their attention and that I wasn't going to go away. They still wanted 30 days to update my account since they had to send it to the correct department for the correction. I find the medical staff at the Cathedral Rock location to be highly professional. Clerical staff are courteous, but not especially friendly. My biggest issue is wait time. Every time I go in, I arrive early, pre-register and yet I almost always wait at least an hour to be called. Facilities are clean and well-lit, but no one wants to have to wait that long for diagnostics. read more

Alexa, with her eagle-eye precision, captured my vein on the first try for the contrast MRI. And then there was **Robert**--kind, comforting, and with an impeccable taste in music. He chose just the right tunes to drown out the clanging of the machine. Throughout the process, he kept me informed about every step he was taking. Twice I have been refused service by this company! My doctor requested and my insurance company approved a scan. The first time they wouldn't do the lung scan because I was within 3 weeks of my 78th birthday. The doctor then requested a chest scan. When I went for this service I was told, yet again, that they refused to perform this scan. No explanation as to why. How is a business able to refuse medical service to a patient when their doctor and insurance carrier approve the procedure!! read more

After my doctor's office made my appointments with them through my insurance Desert Radiology texted me saying I would have to pay $220+ in charges before receiving services. I called my Insurance carrier, they told me that was incorrect because I have no copay for these services! This is the only red flag I need to see. read more

Waited on hold for over an hour before speaking with anyone to scheudle an appointment. After finally connecting with a representative, we were told the earliest appointment for a "stat" order was in two weeks in Henderson (we live in NW Vegas). Called another company and they were able to perform the test on the same day. We're older so we have gone to Desert Radiology a lot for various tests and, in fairness, they do a good job once you're there. I'm surprised by all of the negative reviews because I have never had a bad experience at any Desert Radiology location. This was my first time to the eastern location and it was great! I arrived 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment (as requested) to fill out paperwork. The check in staff were friendly and courteous. I was seen right on time. Natasha was my ultrasound technician and she was so kind, personable and knowledgeable. She made me feel very comfortable and was very efficient. The facility was very clean, modern and relaxing in the ultrasound room. My only recommendations would be to hire more schedulers and set up a patient portal for sharing imaging. I have never been able to call in and reach scheduling without a very very long wait. This last appointment i waited for over an hour before i was connected to a scheduler. The scheduler was super nice and very helpful. Currently, imaging is shared via CD. I don't know anyone with a computer that reads CD's anymore so a portal would be great. read more

Awful -- you cannot get through for an appointment. I read on here a rep anwered and said they would help. They can't help -- I tried. I have called 4 times -- my referrals are there. They ask you a gazillion questions and then say they do not have it. Awful, Awful. Awful. I finally had enought and called the referral office at my doctors office and and am in the process of having them changed to Steinberg. More people should do that. The MRI TECH was rude, the machine is an antique. She didn't turn the music up on the headphones to drown out the noise of the antique MRI the first exam than she reprimanded me for moving my arms near the end (it was my ankle being examined) to hold the headphones close to my ears to drown out the noise the last 4 minutes. The second ankle she gave me ear plugs plus loud music until I hit the " panic" button for a concern. Than for punishment, NO MUSIC the rest of the exam. She needs to retire along with the machine. My husband waited out in the hall about 100 feet away and could hear the machine and everything! No one to complain to because was an evening appointment! Never again. Zero stars should be an option. I've been to two different Desert Radiologists and I'm assuming they're all the same since they use the same call center in the Philippines. Never let them charge you at the facility if your insurance covers the procedure! It will take months and many stressful phone calls to their overseas call center where they dance around the subject and do nothing to help until they receive any pressure from your insurance. My experience with this business has absolutely, without question, been the WORST that I've EVER had with any kind of business. I will be filing complaints with anyone and everyone I can think of, and leaving reviews everywhere possible. The front desk, and examiner were fine, but when confronted 12 days after their report should have been sent to my Dr's office, I was told it hadn't even been completed. Not only did they tell me it wasn't done, they told me it wasn't going to be done for at least another few days, and it took 3 phone calls to even get that info and the news wasn't delivered was compassion either. If I could give zero stars I would. Appointment time I WAS GIVEN was not time in their system. I checked in early (apparently over 2 hrs early!) This has been my most unfortunate experience in over 40 years w any radiology in Nevada! My insurance no longer takes SDMI if you have a choice use Steinberg or Pueblo! Front office staff had no solutions for me. Their only threat was if I reschedule I'll be charged! I have a young child to pick up from school!! I would have NEVER scheduled such a late appointment!! I visit the location on horizon ridge. I had a 10:45 appt today and was told to be there at 10:30 to check in. I arrived ai 10:28. there was a ridiculously long line. I got up to a woman sitting on the far right at 10:45 first thing she told me was that i was late. I told her I'd been in the line. She rudely replied "for a half hour?". she then announced to others that she had a 10:45 indication to them that I was late. Next, I sat down and reviewed my info that did say I was to arrive at 10:30. I then witnessed her do this to two more people. one was a very old man who was there at his appt time also and she gave him a very hard time and indicated he may not be seen as should've arrived 1/2 hour early when he also had record that he was to be there 15 minutes early and had been. I also overheard her on several phone calls with patients and she was downright rude and nasty. she was interrupting them constantly and being so demeaning. Others in the room were also commenting on how nasty she was. I know this place is busy and efficiency is important but to have this person be sitting at a desk that said "greeter" and then allow her to just be rude and condescending is so wrong. read more

I have received my annual mammogram from Desert Radiology for the past few years and have had no problem scheduling. This year I receivedmy mammogram on January 17th. I was called and told that they wanted to get more images and an ultrasound. I called to reschedule, at their request because they said the images were not clear and was told that I could get in nowhere around town for at least two and a half to 3 months. I just lost my sister to breast cancer. I will never return to Desert Radiology. read more
