Desert Ridge Dental is simply wonderful. I have gum issues and require more frequent cleanings and care. So, for the most part, my interactions revolve around dental hygienist visits/cleanings. Most of my dentist visits with the Dentist are super quick and basic. Over the years, I have felt like it can be very challenging to locate a great dental hygienist. Don't get me wrong, the reception staff are wonderful, and the Dentists are top notch, but what keeps me coming back is my hygienist. If your story is the same, boy have I got good news for you. Dillon is simply outstanding. I actually prefer him to most of my family members. He is thorough, gentle, and also has a smile on his face. Walking in I was running late luckily it wasn't too late and they didn't cancel my appointment. Thanks for understanding, it really goes a long way for me. I know my last review of Desert Ridge Dental wasn't stellar and I apologize for having left it. Everyone who knows me knows I really dislike leaving a negative review but things happen and sometimes you just gotta be honest and share your feedback on where there's need for improvement at a business in order to help them grow. It is never my intention beyond that. I love all the businesses I visit and want them to succeed. Anyways back to the bass tax. This visit went super smooth. I got my hygienist Jolene back again and she took care of me and my teeth from start to finish. One thing I admire and truly appreciate is the fact that she keeps excellent notes and records of each visit going above and beyond to review them with me on the differences and progress from the previous visits as well as sharing valuable information on where to improve my oral hygiene based off her assessment. She always makes sure that I'm comfortable during the entire cleaning, you can tell she's passionate in what she does. Desk clerk who sits by the window: must think she's still in HS, laughing at me behind the monitor as she slyly looks at her coworker. (Yeah, I saw you) WE had money in an account in my husband's name & she's asking me if I'd like to pay MORE $$. (YES, he is my husband & takes good care of me) She Sent me a text about that a few days before as well. I declined. Jordan: Unprofessional in behavior. LONG REVIEW BUT WORTH THE READ!!! 1 year ago, when I walked in with my husband at the door, Beverly, the treatment coordinator sweetly invited me back for X-rays and photos after which Dr. Rodgers came in "stealthily" to do exam. He was super gentle, and very encouraging! I'm looking forward to getting my treatment done in the future as this visit was emergency based! They also reassured me that if anything were to happen before the procedure, not to panic. Though I have a bit of a treatment plan ahead I'm actually excited about the idea of getting all my treatments done here, as nitrous is available for all future follow ups. The medication they gave me should also help me feeling better before surgery. Thank you so very much Beverly and Dr. Rodgers. My husband was even impressed with the service ;-). Fast forward to yesterday, a year later, due to insurance problems, I finally got my procedure done and I'm so relieved that it was the smoothest I've ever experienced anesthesia. Even though I left the pre-medication at home, after I used the restroom, Danara "D" escorted me back and connected me to the machines, as I had chosen IV sedation. As soon as Dr. Rogers got the IV in, he gave me a medication to relax me, a common side effect of which erases memory. I woke up just before the procedure was finished as Cristina was close to finishing my cleaning. She was sweet and gave me more local anesthesia to keep me comfortable. I know I was talking to her but don't remember the conversation! And Beverly kept checking in on me. What's even better? I no longer have to hide my smile and I'm so grateful for all the care and support! They even called me back today to check up on me. Superior patient care today (6/16/2022) at Desert Ridge Dental in northwest Albuqerque NM. I had a scheduled appointment this morning to have a temporary dental crown replaced with a permanent one. Thanks to Ms. Kayla (Front Desk), Ms. Sara (Dental Technician) and Dr. Mink for providing an AWESOME patient care experience! Each Staffer showed (me) genuine concern and interest in my treatment! I'm a retired USAF healthcare technician and ALL of my patient care 'boxes' were checked-off to my satisfaction! I recently had two crowns and a filling replaced by Dr Ming. Prior to arriving I was anxious about the procedure and the time I would be sitting in the dental chair. Dr Ming and his assistant put me at ease by keeping me informed at each step and before I knew it was all behind me. The TV screen above me really helped to keep me distracted too, such a simple and brilliant idea. The facilities are state of the art and the staff are all friendly and knowledgeable, it is apparent that they enjoy coming to work. I began my journey with Dr Jacob 6 months ago. I have not regretted one thing! I got lower implant done. It was exactly how he said it would be step by step! Very upfront great dentist. I have had no problems! He is very patient and dealt with my crazy fears.. He did amazing at designing them! They are beautiful! I can eat things I haven't got to eat in a long time! Update: March 2021 - My dad is currently in treatment with Dr. Rogers. It has been an incredible journey of replacing missing teeth, improving the health of his gums, straightening his smile, and teeth whitening. This has improved the way my dad lives his day-to-day life. They refused my son service solely because I said over the phone that he was disabled. They never even saw him in person. Just a flat refusal. I pleaded with the girl who "asked the doctor and he said no" to please let me speak with the doctor directly to explain the situation and was told, "I don't make the rules". Great staff, from the office staff to the hygienists, to the dental assistants they are kind, professional, and focused on providing excellent care. Both dentists, Dr. Rogers and Dr. Mink, truly care about their patients and are honest about treatment options. A year ago I had another dentist tell me I needed 3 cavities filled and Dr. Roger's said they weren't bad, that we could just keep an eye on them. Today was a year later and I still don't need those cavities filled. I think some dentists try to upsale you to make more money, deseret ridge dental doesn't do that. First time here, so I ended up doing my initial x-rays and exam plus a cleaning. My appointment started right on time when I was called into the waiting room from the parking lot where I was waiting due to COVID. Everything went smoothly and quickly with no problems. The staff and Dr. Rogers were friendly and professional, the office was clean and tidy and all the equipment looked to be in good shape. First visit was pretty good, so while I can't say I'm looking forward to a dental visit, I can say I'm not dreading the next one! read more

I have been a patient at this business for almost five years. Overall my experience's have been positive however they changed their hours a year or so ago where their latest appointment is at 4pm. I have to book my appointments out 7 months in advance to get a 4 pm appointment. I have been scheduled for my next cleaning for six months and just received a call saying they need to reschedule my appointment. The next 4pm appointment available was July (6 months from now)! I spoke with the office manager (who was not at all helpful) about needing a 4pm appointment because I work in a hospital and have patients scheduled on my own schedule. She was completely unwilling to offer a reasonable solution so I have decided to switch dentists and not deal with the lack of patient care at Desert Ridge Dental. It's a shame too because the dentists are great and the facility is clean but if you don't take care of your patients/customers, you don't deserve them. read more

Dental assistants, hygienists and the Docs are all very friendly and professional, and their state-of-the-art facilities are just as great. Not enough to persuade you to visit them? How about their skills, then... serious attention to detail, very experienced staff (ask for Julie - she's the best), and they don't try to sell you every single cosmetic service they provide. I have NEVER liked the dentist but I knew I needed to go in and make it a regular thing again for me and my family. I was referred to Desert Ridge by a good friend who found me the perfect dental office. They eased my anxiety by making me feel right at home and explaining everything and checking on my throughout the entire process. They also were able to take care of a cavity for our daughter without drilling or putting her under, I could not be a happier mommy! This staff melts my heart! I had the unfortunate need for a root canal that required intravenous anesthesia and this was the only dental office that accepted my insurance within two cities that performed this type of procedure. I love their new age equipment! They take x-rays right there in the same chair. Their rooms are really calming with blue tranquility paint and they also play your favorite music or movies for you during your work and waiting time. As a very un-dentist like move, they also serve Otis Spunk Meyer chocolate chip cookies in the waiting room! I know I genuinely enjoyed this staff because as I was coming out of anesthesia, my husband said that I kept telling him how nice they were and how great they were. He quoted me saying, "Seriously, they are just the NICEST people!" Over and over again, lol! The doctor is genuine and kind, he's also very patience with a patient's pain and concerns. Never felt uncomfortable once, and I come with an immense fear of the dentist (hence the intravenous anesthesia). My only complaint is how far away they are to me! I wish they were closer to the NE Heights, but they're way over on Universe. If they were closer and more convenient, I would--without hesitation--change dentists immediately. read more
