Dr. Garcia is a mystery to me. She fired me as a patient and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. I assumed she was simply moving from that practice or no longer accepting my insurance but my husband is also a patient and he did not receive a letter. I have tried calling her to see if there was a mistake but she has not returned my call. I'm usually every dentists dream as I have no dental issues and just need cleaning. I'm friends with her hygienist and the other dentist at that practice (he has since moved). I have never been fired as a patient by anyone before. It's truly just so strange! read more

Although we have been pleased with the dentist and dental hygienist, we find the billing office to be extremely frustrating and downright incompetent to deal with. They are quick enough to ask you for the money but when you have an excess of funds of several hundred dollars it takes weeks to get the money back. I changed insurances, but they continued to bill the old insurance company despite me taking the new card in and calling them repeatedly. we shall see how this latest situation develops, but both my husband and I are ready to switch dentist if it is not resolved. read more

I have called my dentist here several times regarding an urgent tooth extraction, and I've been put off every call. Dr. Pako is no longer here and the new "doctor" is very inexperienced. Had a tooth ache and scheduled an appointment on my lunch for a quick tooth extraction. Dentist said 45 minutes and I would be on my way back to work. After 2 hours in the chair with him prying and pulling on my tooth it broke in half and he punched a hole into my sinus cavity. He sent me to en emergency oral surgeon which I had to pay for out of my pocket to finish the tooth extraction and see up the hole in my sinuses. Missed the rest of the day at work plus another day the next week to get the stitches removed. Never had such a horror movie experience before. Not recommending. read more

Showed up for my appt. 10 min prior to get screened for Covid-19. Sat in car for 25 minutes as I watched 4 others arrive after me get called to go into the clinic. I was already frustrated so I called to see how much longer I was required to wait. The front staff lady told me the dental tech was finishing up and needed about 10 more minutes. I told her no thanks. They wanted me to wait outside of their clinic for 35 minutes!!! Unprofessional to say the least. I WILL be looking for another dentist that can honor people's time. read more

I would highly recommend you AVOID this dentist. I very rarely write negative reviews on Yelp, but I think this one is important to help you avoid a dangerous dentist! The front desk staff and hygienists at the clinic are amazing...the dentist, not so amazing. I had my basic cleaning appointment in September at which time the hygienist thought there was a small cavity in one tooth on the x-ray. The dentist wasn't there that day to look at the x-ray or my teeth (which I thought was odd, I've never had a dentist before that only has the hygienist see the patient...). The hygienist told me they would call me after the dentist saw the x-ray. I waited about a week for the call but was never called, so I called them. Clueless once again the lady on the phone told me they'd get back to me. They did and said the dentist recommended a filling in that tooth, so I made an appointment for the filling. Upon coming to that appointment the dentist told me he would have probably just waited on the filling to watch the tooth for another 6 months (are you kidding me??), but since I was there he'd do the filling. I've had pain and temperature sensitivity to the tooth since he did the filling over 10 weeks ago and have had two subsequent visits to him in which he said that there is likely nerve damage and I will require a crown or root canal. I've since been to an Endodontist (which my dentist was nice enough to cover the initial appt cost) who said a root canal will likely be the only option if the pain doesn't resolve (which it hasn't). This is very frustrating because I had NO pain or temperature sensitivity to the tooth before he did the filling. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone as he has likely caused me a lot of future dental bills and wasted my time (and damaged my tooth/nerve!). read more

From the very first visit I felt a atmosphere of arrogance. As I met with dental assistant another employee whisked in with a loan application. Her comment upon returning. Led me to ask the question "are you surprised". Checking my loan app and tallying the total were the only thing they were efficient at. 3 separate times they did not respond to important calls. These calls added weeks to my treatment plan. The last call in regards to an important ct scan that had been ready for 3 weeks. This test led the cancellation of my dental work that was to take place over 6 months. It also added 6 to 12 thousand dollars to an already enormous sum. I never right reviews but my experience at this dental office was extraordinary that I felt I needed to write a review. Alegre dental was by far the best and most professional dentist office I have ever been to. You can tell the office is very clean and has very modern equipment that makes the exam actually very pleasant. They had a flat screen TV on the ceiling and you had your choice of TV or music, which made it very comfortable. Dr. Major was VERY professional and friendly and made you feel at ease in the dental chair. The office staff was very friendly and welcoming as well. Dr. Major is the best dentist I have been too. I have been to many dentists in the past years and have received sub-par treatments/service. Dr. Major has brought back my faith in dentistry. His service/treatment for my family is excellent. He is very skilled, careful, and professional throughout the whole procedure. You can tell he is very detailed and careful about his work because he would do constant checks to see if I was okay (which showed he cared about the condition of the patient). So, at first glance of reviews everything sounds great. My first red flag was the staff. For the over the top reviews of a dental office you assume these people must be amazing. Who gives a dental office a review unless they are amazing or horrible? Second red flag was when the hygienist did not respect my opinion on the use of fluoride which is based on research not just my personal opinion. Third red flag was when the hygienist tried to sell me a "in depth" oral cancer screening for 99.00, also not covered by insurance. Fourth, red flag was the hygienist telling me I needed a 300.00 cleaning that is not covered at my usual 100%.. Then telling me I had the start of gum disease when every hygienist that has ever cleaned my teeth has commented on how healthy and pretty my gums are. She would not even give me my free annual cleaning claiming insurance would think they were fraudulently billing them. I wonder why she would be worried about that, hhhmmm. So, I make an appointment for a second opinion somewhere else. Of course I have to now pay out of pocket because I can not have two exams in two days and get my insurance to pay for it. Sure enough, Hygienist was trying to up sell something not needed. My dental exam was done my a dentist this time. It is my opinion that alegra had people give them good reviews because what I experience does not come close to even a two star review. Oh, and I told them I had anxiety and they still recommend a deep gum disease cleaning with novocain, sedation, the works, where it just was not warranted. Many of us share the same crappy dental insurance and with dental expenses being so high and the economy and pay being so below survivability many of us have take out loans just to pay for minor work. To try and drain every dime from your patients is not the way to earn business. When a dentist listens, knows what he or she is taking about, and comes up with the best way to meet the patients needs, that is an amazing dentist. I avoided the dentist like nobodies business for years. Based on the commercial Alegre had a few of years ago I gave them a try. I haven't missed an appointment since! I finally talked my husband into giving them a chance and he quit his other dentist after seeing what an amazing place this is. My entire family sees Kendra, she is beyond awesome. I feel like at this point she is a part of the family and I hers. She and "Doc" remember the craziest details about each member of my family when we go in. I trust that they are taking care of all of our dental needs, they do a great job while being so much fun at the same time. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I should have written this a long time ago! My experience with Alegre Dental was simply awful. Before I explain what was so awful, I must add that the dental work itself was great. Less pain than I've ever experienced at the dentist. So, everything else has to be VERY BAD to cause a problem with nearly painless dental appointments. Alegre practices a very hard sell, loads of guilt and pressure to have an implant. I proceeded with this plan though it was far beyond my financial abilities. The lecturing and the guilting was unbearable for me. When I told the assistant that she needed to ease up as I was fresh from my 32 year old daughter's death - she herself started crying and told me all about her sister dying ten years earlier. Now, I had to comfort her and I just refused. I never returned to complete the work. Later, it was discovered that I have a $50 credit. When I asked that it be refunded, I was told that it takes 6 - 8 weeks coming from Illinois. 7 weeks later, no check. "Wait some more, it's in the mail." Another week, I was not nice but that didn't matter. Wait some more, we'll send a new check. They claimed to have my address wrong. They were not apologetic, and did not offer a more reasonable solution. I have since discovered another practice, no guilt, no pressure, complete understanding of my finances and they politely work with me so that I can complete my care within my financial abilities. AND! It's nearly pain free also. I am in hock up to my eyes for an implant that I cannot afford to complete and wouldn't go back to complete at Alegre if I were exquisitely rich. And, the new place's treatment plan is MUCH less expensive. Skip this office. read more

I am so glad I found this practice. I needed a lot of serious work done, after having a horrible experience with another dentist several years ago. I was hesitant to start all the work that needed to be done. I've been going to Alegre Dental for well over a year now, and now that all the work I needed is finally finished, I couldn't be happier. Dr.Major does excellent work. The staff is polite, I've never waited more than 5 minutes to be seen, the office is nice, their technology is top notch, and their work is absolutely flawless. They take my dental insurance, so there were no issues financially. I would absolutely recommend this office to anyone. read more

This is a young dentist with a new practice. On the Plus side there is nice new equipment and a young, eager staff. On the Minus side he does not have a lot of experience and the staff has not matured in their customer service skills. OK for the basics like routine cleaning, but if you need anything more complex than a filling I would highly recommend going to someone with more experience both in the field and in working to keep a patient happy once things go south. My wife and I had been using this practice for a couple of years now but they lost both of us after the very poor way that they handled a very basic issue. read more

I have now found an older dentist with a good reputation who does not have a huge debt to pay off, does not have Netflix beckoning on the ceiling, and does not pester me with sales calls offering $100 off dental procedures--the last straw took place when Dr. Pisotti called me soliciting at my work place. I am an old school professional myself and I feel it's unethical to hit your patients up with sales calls, along with that little twinge of guilt. read more

Both of us were seen right on time and the front office staff was very professional and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and felt I was receiving excellent care. Today I went to visit the Alegre's Office Manager Sylvia and Rebecca the clerk to try and resolve a financial matter. They started out sweet as pie but in the end Sylvia crossed her arms, dug her heels into the carpet and wanted to know when I planned on making the final payment. I would call this 'cold and callus' considering the frustration, let alone stress, I've been experiencing about my billing. Yes, I have been very worried and lost a whole lot of sleep over this matter - and I was right to worry. The financial situation involved dental insurance, FSA and Alegre's (corporate office) unwillingness to rectify a transaction error (mine and Rebecca's) went to deaf ears. After a call into corporate office I received a NO - NO - NO, a NO WAY and NO HOW are we willing to adjust our records for you Ms. Martha! I expect that Dr. Paco Major is not aware or perhaps is aware but chooses not to get involved with office details on patient billing, after all, there is Sylvia the office manager who has the power of the pen to write and say NO and offers only options for me to make final payment. Yes, I stressed for seven days to include a weekend because NO ONE returned any of my calls where I left multiple messages expressing my concern. And to think, I was referred to this office because of all the rave reviews. Warning: DO NOT work with this dental office if you have FSA (Federal Health Savings Account). Be ever so sure to cross your t's and dot your i's as this office will not help you otherwise. A note to Sylvia, you need more training on customer care. The right thing would have been for you to say in this delicate matter "Ms. Martha, you take a couple of days to think about this and call me when you're ready to move on". This way, you don't come across so callus and rude. Your words, tone and body language made me feel even worse than when I walked in your office! If there is a rebuttal, rest assured they will point the finger right back at me. This I expect. I totally regret getting Invisalign with this office! read more

The worst customer service I've ever experienced. Not just for a dentist, but any business in general. The staff continuously tried to up sell me on teeth whitening and X-rays. I told them that I had just had X-rays and wasn't certain my insurance would cover it. They refused to do the "cleaning" that I scheduled, unless I would do X-rays as well. They even offered to give me a whitening tray kit, if I did the X-rays. After I politely rejected the X-ray request, the changed their tone and verbiage. I wound up leaving work early and driving all the way to their office for a "cleaning" and waited in their lobby for 37 minutes before they even called me to the back. Once in the back they repeatedly tried to sell more serviced for the visit. I explained that I only scheduled a cleaning, and that is all I wanted done for the day. I have been a patient here for a few years. I have been very pleased with their service. The staff are professional, courteous, and friendly. When I first started going there I was impressed with the facilities and equipment. Everything seemed state of the art. I especially liked the digital X rays. It was the first time I had X rays taken with a hand held device and the dental personnel didn't have to stand behind a shield or cover me with a lead blanket. I recently had a tooth that has had many fillings and finally got to the point it had to have a crown. The doctor explained everything completely even taking pictures and showing me what and why certain things were necessary. Unfortunately this particular tooth had been through so much trauma that after the crown was placed it still caused pain but the dentist and staff were sympathetic and got me in as soon as possible to get things fixed up. With regard to some other reviews, I appreciate being given options. Yes... they offer fluoride treatments when getting cleanings especially since the city no longer puts fluoride in the water supply but I explained once that I didn't want it because it seem to make me a little queasy and they have never mentioned it again. Yes... they also offer oral cancer screenings but, it is completely up to the patient if they want to do it or not. In my case, I didn't have it done in order to do some checking on-line and didn't feel pressured in any way. I think they are just offering a service that the doctor feels is of benefit to his patients. read more

the reason i contact the office is because of there internet promotion of $995 for an implant. i came into the office; the dr wanted to remove my tooth right away charging me $1200 plus a few other procedures plus the crown; the total was close to $4000. the dr numbed me and was ready to remove the tooth. i was very confused and put a stop to the rest of the procedure because the internet price was an attraction/scam. one of the assistants said the dr will honor the $995. so i went ahead and scheduled the appt. WRONG!!! i called for confirmation and they refused to honor there internet promotion. i called a few weeks later for billing questions and they took over a month to call back. i will not be going back to this office nor referring any one. read more
