I saw dental hygienist Liz and Doctor Rodriguez. I HATE the dentist. They noted this and were very patient and kind. Liz checked in with my throughout my cleaning and made sure I was comfortable. I hadn't been to the dentist in a very very long time. I have a lot of shame about this but they were kind and didn't contribute to my shame. One thing I really liked is you know how much the service is going to cost prior to having it done so there are not any surprises at the end of the visit. They will also let you know the cost of any follow up care when scheduling. I have to get some fillings a few weeks and I know how much it will cost so I can budget if needed. I really like that! A lot! I never thought I'd give a dentist 5 stars but they deserve it.

    Birthday surprise. What awesome people!

Very friendly staff. The only downside is that a patient shouldn't feel pressed into buying or having extra services done.

I came in to have a bonded retainer repaired by Dr. Han that had been stable for 18 years. Prior to…read morethe repair, I did not have a visible gap between my front teeth. Within about two weeks after the retainer was reattached, I developed a visible gap between my front teeth that had not been there before. When I returned to the office, my concern was repeatedly dismissed. Multiple staff members were brought in and I was repeatedly told my teeth "had not moved," despite the gap being clearly visible to me and multiple people in my life. They relied heavily on a 3D scan they had taken two weeks earlier when they originally repaired the retainer. The scan generates both a regular image and a 3D model. They claimed the "model" showed a gap even though the "photo" did not, attributing the difference to saliva. I asked them to do a new scan and compare the images side-by-side. The new scan photo clearly showed a visible gap. However, they were never able to overlay the images, add scale bars, or consistently display the scans side-by-side. I was also given conflicting explanations about why they could not open the updated 3D model. The owner (Dr. Hand) said it couldn't be opened in that room specifically and we couldn't wait to open it in another room when it emptied out, while the technician said the 3D printing company generated the model and they could not access it directly. Even their explanations did not align. At one point I explained that the gap appeared to have increased from roughly 0.25 mm to around 1 mm. The owner responded that maybe it moved "microns, not millimeters," even though that is essentially what I had already said (~750 microns = 0.75 mm). She acted as though I did not understand the difference between microns and millimeters, despite the fact that I literally run a scientific research lab working with nanoparticles and microneedles. After over two hours of advocating for myself, I requested that the bonded retainer be removed because I was concerned it had been reattached in a way that was no longer passive. Once it was removed, they gave me a removable retainer made from the scan before the gap developed. They did not charge me for this visit. After only a few hours of wearing the removable retainer, the gap had already started to close. By the next day, it had essentially closed completely. The retainer caused significant soreness and I could not even bite into food normally, which further confirmed that real tooth movement had occurred. They had also told me that if my teeth had truly moved, the retainer made from the earlier scan would not fit anymore, which is simply not true and not how aligner systems like Invisalign work. Overall, this was one of the worst patient experiences I have had. I would have preferred a respectful, collaborative discussion instead of having multiple people repeatedly insist that nothing had changed when it clearly had.

I was diagnosed with a cavity, he filled it, I had increased pain, then he filled it again, but the 2nd time with metal (without explaining the consequences of using metal). He reassured me, "if you have any issues with the tooth again, come back to me and I won't charge you". I thought he was being nice. Stupid me. I started having increased gum pain and could not chew on the right side of my mouth. Something felt wrong. I went to Copper Canyon Dental to see a different dentist. There, they showed me Dr. Moore's work. My tooth he "fixed" was cracked, part of metal he put in the tooth was rubbing against my gum causing irritation, and the tooth BEHIND the tooth he worked on was shaved down. The Dentist asked why did I choose metal and then described the work done by Dr. Moore as "sloppy". The issues I was having made sense. I was told I would eventually need a crown or the cracked part of my tooth was going to fall off. I tried to push it off for as long as I could which lasted 2 years. In that 2 years, I had to chew on the left side of my mouth, deal with frequent gum bleeding, and dealt with on and off pain on the right side of my mouth. Eventually part of the tooth was dying and my gum had severe irritation. I attempted to contact Dr. Moore several times and his office ignored me. I went in person. He wasn't there. I even wrote him a letter leaving my contact information. No answer. So here I am, writing a review to give you a warning. Was the staff friendly? Yes. Was the environment / ambiance pleasant? Yes. However, I dealt with 2 years of mouth / jaw pain, damage to my gum, and eventually needed a crown that cost me $1,096.

Most of his teeth have broken, with only some being replaced. It is so bad right now that he can barely eat. Did I mention this was a $30K investment. Yes, between the surgery that was needed to prep for the implants, the implants themselves, and Dr. Essenmacher's fees, we paid $30,000 for 5 years of pain and misery. Now her solution is to get implants made from different material. To the tune of another $25K! Oh, but she'll do it for only $2,500. Another $2,500??!!! She should be covering the cost since we've already paid for the implants. And the most disappointing thing is that Dr Essenmacher portrays herself as a Christian woman. That is what made me suggest to my son that he sees her for the implants. This has been a 5-year nightmare with no end in sight. Please save yourself the agony and see someone who specializes in implants so you can get what you're paying for. Shirley

This review is a long time coming. My dentist retired in 2018 and I went to Byron Wall because one…read moreof his specialties was TMJ. I had 5 abfractions, where a small piece of the tooth has broken loose due to clenching. Wall was going to fill the abfractions, but also wanted to grind my teeth to fix the clenching. I was told, "I just do a very minimal grinding, about the width of a hair, and it can make a huge difference, this allows the jaw to relax, and then you won't clench and cause more abfractions. " I agreed to only have the abfractions filled, and to wait on the grinding, but I was told that I would have to sign a release that if they did not do the grinding, then the fillings might fall out, and they would not be responsible. The fillings were horrible, big globs of material that were very rough and jagged. There was no way to floss as it would get tangled in the jagged filling material. And because of the grinding he did, now I was scrapping my teeth on one side of my mouth. I returned several times, and each time he said that more griding was needed. He tried to sand down the excess material on the fillings, but this was impossible to get smooth. Neither process worked. I had difficulty getting through to Byron Wall, he is very busy, and it is difficult to get him to listen. The clenching was worse, now I had pain radiating to my eye and head. When I chew on the right side, my teeth scrape tother on the left side. Then I was told, "Sometimes it takes up to a year of grinding to get things to be right." I spent $2,411 with Byron Wall. Now I had to find a TMJ specialist to fix the new problem created by Wall where I scrape on one side when I eat. And to fix the horrible fillings he put in. I asked for a refund. Byron Wall refused. In a letter he said that he had recommended crowns and that I had refused. Crowns for what? Crowns were never discusssed. He said he performed all that I had asked him to do. I left Byron Wall and became extra cautious. I met with these dentists: Alicia Abeyta, Greg Sanchez, David Willoughby, Wayne Luco, and Robert Supple. Everyone of these dentists said the fillings done by Wall would all have to be removed and redone. They could not understand why he would put such big globs on my teeth-- Willoughby said that one of the globs was like a cave--a place for a cavity to start. Robert Supple said that he can fix the clenching and hopefully the chewing problem created by Wall. He said that grinding the teeth before getting the jaw aligned and stable is backwards. I said that one of the reasons I went to Byron Wall is that he was named Dentist of the Year. One of these five dentists said, "Unfortunately people put value to that when a dentist can pay to be dentist of the year." It has taken a very long time to recover from the work of Byron Wall. I would have given zero stars if that were available. David Willoughby removed and re-filled all of the five fillings done by Wall. Willoughby said the standard is, "smooth as glass" and that's what Willoughby did. Robert Supple was fabulous had helped me tremendously with the clenching and scrapping one one side created by Wall.
