And a large common room with a fully stocked kitchen with fresh eggs from the chickens on site. We were immediately greeted by the two sweetest dogs that would periodically check up on us and keep us company. They were so well behaved. Occasionally The cat would also visit. Our host were always available if needed, but allowed all the privacy we wanted. The view of the stars from the upper patio with fireplace and hot tub had to be my favorite experience. The cedar fire had such a pleasant fragrance, and the sounds of wildlife in the area and the views were unspeakable. Even though if feels like your out in the middle of nowhere, there are so many things nearby. I understand why there is a three day minimum stays, you will want to spend more time there to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. No tv is available and that was wonderful.

This place is a gym and you are a pearl, a gift. Thank you Andria for your charming and dynamic personality and how you welcome everyone into your home. Very eclectic and eccentric and I loved every minute of it down to cat. Joshua, Bonita, Alyssa, wow, what a special treat to have met you all. Andria, you picked the perfect room for me and my husband, without a doubt. It was charming and the personality of the room was big, bold and flavorful, we loved it. We heard about your gourmet breakfast and I was excited to actually to be able to experience it, and it was not disappointing. The art work was fabulous with a lot of history, the articles were great, but Andria took the time to do her own library. The happy place. Binders of her life, so much time and details. This is the only place that I have ever been that has as many books a small library. Even flip books, a special treat for me for sure. The property was incredible, the gardens, the Koi ponds, special seating everywhere that overlooked the views of the city, quiet and intimate. I WOULD RECOMMEND

It was the first time using airbnb but they had great reviews and I did not hestitate about booking with them. Any other place just paled in comparison. We happened to arrive much earlier than check in and they had the room all ready for us. The property is breathtaking and even the amazing pictures do not do it justice. I was in awe at the level of hospitality and comfort Nancy and Jerry put into the lovely guest house for us. The refrigerator was stocked with water, soda, milk and juice as well as breakfast items including eggs, bagels, cream cheese, butter, fresh fruit, granola bars and coffee. I wish we had more time to just stay and relax at their home but we took advantage of having breakfast right outside on the patio while watching the sun come up and staring up at the stars in the evening. Jerry gave us some great advice on things we should see in the area and we ate lunch at the Haunted Hamburger in Jerome as he recommended. I cannot say enough great things about their property, the view and overall friendliness but to book a stay with them and you will not regret it. Everyone needs to experience this breathtaking location and that's the reason I posted to Yelp, so others can find this amazing getaway!

It's only a steep, windy 15 min drive from the larger town of Cottonwood, but offers wonderful views and cute charm. I would highly recommend stopping here if you're visiting Central Arizona. The bed was slightly hard and the house is older but breakfast was great. Nancy even accommodated for my Vegan friend. You get your own entrance, living room, bedroom, garden patio and bathroom that sits below their main house. My only complaint was that I got - what I believe to be -altitude sickness because as soon as I went "down the hill" to Cottonwood, I felt significantly better. (5000 elevation to 3300). I've been in higher cities before, but never felt anything like this. A local told me it might have been due to the ghosts! Either way, I had a good time and took some nice photos.

We usually just go up for the day and check out the local shops, drink wine and eat food from "not chains." This time we wanted more as it was our two year anniversary AND the Jerome Historic Home Tour. I couldn't find a place but being the most resourceful gal ever, Rach nabbed what had to be one of the last rooms available in town. When we pulled up, I have to admit I didn't know what to expect. Once we got situated inside I realized what a great find Rach had really made. I really liked this B&B had only one guest suite as it has it's own separate entrance and patio that can see all the way to Sedona. B&B's to me always seem a little confined as the rooms are usually a little older and not much space to really relax. Not so at Hillside. I really like the separate living area with its great assortment of historical references on Jerome, (we came for a bit of history and were pretty impressed with what we found). And the back patio, it's quiet and has views that are tough to beat. The owners Nancy and Mike couldn't have been cooler as well. They gave us plenty of ideas for things to do in town and really made the experience that much more enjoyable. Breakfast was filling and delicious and the coffee didn't suck. Although there are a couple other places I am eager to see and stay in Jerome I am really looking forward to the next time I can spend time at Hillside. Oh, be sure to find the book about Ghost Towns. It's big and white and the pages for Jerome are falling out. Worth the find!

Mingus, and also as an excellent way to avoid the excess of nearby Sedona. During the first visits to The Historic Connor Hotel my respite was Room 12, up the creaky wooden stairs to the top floor, where a king bed, private bath and great views of the Verde Valley greeted me every morning. I stayed for several nights, enjoying the first floor Spirit Room Bar and its live music and western comaraderie by night, and its strong coffee and light breakfast at first light if not too hungover. It was a wonderful space to write, reflect and philosophize. It might have been haunted like other places in town, but me and that ghost got along just fine. Two loners we were. I returned three times to Connor, reserving #12 each time. It was a home away from home. Although during those years I occasionally slept in other heads on beds in Jerome when I felt the need for a change, this 1898 stone and brick edifice always had my heart. The private deck was private enough to feel like you could be in your birthday suit, and the hot tub was large, with powerful jets, and clean. Was a wonderful experience to jump in your own outdoor tub first thing in the morning without having to really worry if it was disturbing anyone else. The view was stunning, clear and unobstructed through the valley onto majestic mesas. The breakfasts each morning were very delicious and well presented, so appropriate for a honeymooning couple. However, they were consistently on the sweet sugary side, and I would have preferred options of having protein or something savory for breakfast, though the sweets were definitely good sweets, 100% sweets give me a headache, not a good way to start the day. Though it was kind of nice to have the hosts wheel breakfast into your room every morning, it was a bit awkward and I would have just told the hosts to leave the breakfast for us in a separate room elsewhere until a certain time because we like to sleep in. If the room were set up such that the breakfast cart didn't have to be wheeled in through the bedroom it might have felt less awkward because then you felt like you couldn't be the true slobs you were and spread out in any way you wish. Fireplace was great in warming up the room, easy to turn on and off. In terms of noise, you can barely hear cars go down the road below if you try to listen for it, and since the place is made of wood, the frame does creek and pop a bit. However, when we mentioned the wood frame issue I was not impressed by the host's reaction which was more on the defensive side. Though they apologized they insisted previous customers did not experience what we did (and that approach tends to indicate that something is wrong with us since other folks didn't have the problem) and for being a business that charges what it does for the rooms, they could have at least offered some small renumeration like a complimentary 10% off, and we did ask, but they refused. If it weren't for the reaction of the host (not very business savvy), the awkward and always sweet breakfast, I'd give the place 5 stars because the grounds are just so stunning and everything else was great.
