Kudos to this little flower shop in Saint George, Utah, for working with me on my special request. I was driving into Saint George from Las Vegas, where I had flown into from Los Angeles, on a last minute trip to support a family member in Saint George who had just lost her son. I needed an arrangement that included her and her son's favorite colors. While driving, I made a cold call to them to see if they had the color palettes I needed and to discuss my vision. When I arrived in Saint George, I headed over and we looked at the flowers they had, the vases, and how the arrangement would look. Within a couple of hours, I was able to pick up a very beautiful and meaningful arrangement. My family member was very touched by the beauty of the flowers. Flowers were sent to the church for my uncle's funeral yesterday, and when we looked at them half of them were dead and even had petals falling off. It was appalling just how poorly these flowers looked. It highly upset my aunt because of how dead they were and how it was for my uncle who was a well honored military veteran. I almost bought flowers from this company and I am so glad I didn't waste my money on dead flowers from them. The flowers should have been thrown out days ago instead of being used in an arrangement, especially for a funeral. I am appalled they even used them at all. I wish I could share the pictures of the dead flowers on here, but I don't see an option to do so. read more

The flowers look like they were purchased at a half price sale at the grocery store! It only had two or three flowers the rest was eucalyptus and fillers. Not even the little white babes breath. The ribbon looked like it was made from Dollar store ribbon. I was so embarrassed at how puny it looked next to all the others there that day! Have you thought that "pictures don't lie?" Chances are you haven't ordered flowers or fruit baskets to be delivered. Whether online or phoning, whether using a venue in the recipient's city, or a network that refers to an establishment in the delivery city...you don't always get what you order. Take pictures, itemize content and use these when thanking the sender. This week's delivery came from a direct call from the sender to Desert Rose. The ordered fruit basket was to contain 2 mylar balloons, pineapple, keewee, grapes, small triangles of processed cheeses, oranges, apples. The balloons were there, oranges, apples, mangos, bananas, brie, box club crackers, tangerines/clementines. Rehab patients don't have knives (or refrigerators) to cut brie or mangos. Nor would they need a big box of crackers. Remove all the paper and the items that could be consumed not much left. The sender was not happy. Desert Rose rectified this by sending grapes, small cheeses, and strawberries. It would have helped on the redelivery to indicate WHO the recipient was. The front desk had to call back for that information. I tried to drop their star rating to 2 stars for that carelessness. Yelp wouldn't allow. The lesson for the merchant is to ask enough questions when tailoring a basket for a recipient (especially in a medical facility) using good old common sense. Nothing wrong with checking twice for accuracy. The delivery person should have checked before leaving Desert Rose for complete information. read more

I was given the name of this florist from my sister in law. She used them for her father's funeral and said they were very helpful. I wanted to order centerpieces for my daughter's wedding reception. I spoke with Nila. She was very friendly and seemed to be willing to help when I spoke to her on the phone. She told me to email her the information and a picture of what I wanted and she would get me a quote within a couple days. I immediately sent the information, Friday, July 1. I figured since it was a holiday weekend I wouldn't hear from her until Tuesday, July 5th. (Monday was July 4th.) I called on Thursday, July 7th when I still hadn't heard from her. She said I would have the quote by the end of the day. Today is Saturday, July 9th. I still haven't gotten the promised quote. Obviously she doesn't want or need my business! read more

The reason people go to the trouble and expense of ordering through a florist is for artestry. Its sad when you're hubby spends a lot of money to get something special and have it fall short. To be honest he could have gotten a better more beautifully arraigned bouquet of flowers from the local grocery store at half the price. I'm so grateful to have a wonderful hubby willing to do something so special for me. I am broken-hearted and angry. I read reviews hoping to find a good florist in st George to send flowers for my grandfather's funeral. I finally landed on this company. The woman on the phone seemed very kind and understanding so I thought I was in good hands but I made the mistake of letting her know that I wouldn't be able to attend the funeral. Apparently that is code for use cheap, dying flowers. I told her I would spend $125 and asked her if it would make a beautiful arrangement and she assured me it would. My parents attended the funeral and took a picture of my arrangement. The chrysanthemums were dying. There were some alstroemerias, an iris and fillers... That was it. It looked like a cheap $30 grocery store arrangement at best. An OLD, dying, $30 arrangement in a cheap case with a cheap bow. I was already so sad not to be able to attend my grandfather's funeral and agonized about it. My husband is military and is gone right now and we live in Washington so I couldn't afford to fly out with all three of my little ones. I wanted to send something beautiful in my place to let the family know that I loved them and that my heart was with them. Instead I'm just so sad... So broken-hearted. This meant so much to me and I was taken advantage of. I have friends and family in st George but I would never use this company again. Judge for yourself... I included a picture of the "fresh" $125 flowers. The owner called and did give a full refund... Which is why I moved it from one star to two. But when I asked the owner whether she thought this arrangement was worth $125, she said it was. So... If you expect to spend $125 for an arrangement that looks like this with cheap flowers than this is your store. read more

Never Again!!! I ordered their (Eye Candy) bouquet which was delivered the same day, and appreciated. Unfortunately when the recipient received the flowers she called to thank me but said the water & vase were dirty and some of the flowers were dying. I called Desert Rose Florist and they said they would re-deliver the next day. I did not realize re-deliver meant show up, take the vase to their van, pull the dead flowers out and then bring the remaining flowers back inside? Same dirty water, vase and less flowers than before. Honestly not sure why they even came back out if that is all they were going to do. Spend your money elsewhere - Avoid this company!!! read more

I was lucky to find a great florist when sending flowers out of town to a relativein the hospital. The bouquet was beautiful and the owner so helpful when I found out last minute my sister-in-law was in the hospital. The delivery charge was $8 and reasonably priced. Yey for Desert Rose! I can't say enough about Nila and this little flower shop! I was on a tight budget and turn around time for flower for my wedding ceremony in Zion National Park. My hired florist had backed out 2 weeks prior to the big day and I was scrambling on finding a replacement from states away. Needless to say, Nila really came through! I called her in a panic and she reassured me and made my vision of a perfect ceremony come to life fit with arch garland, 3 bouquets, 3 bout's and a large arch floral arrangement! I can't thank her enough for working so fast under such a short turn around time and being willing to work with me on the budget a bit to make sure I got what I wanted in the price range I was willing to spend. Her husband even delivered them to the hair salon in hurricane where I was getting ready at the morning of! My son in California ordered flowers from this florist for my birthday. The arrangement was very disappointing. It was mostly filler greens, had hardly any color to it. I saw a picture of what it was supposed to look like and it was far from that. I will not recommend this florist to anyone. read more
