This review is mostly about staff , but also about Dr Mills and Mathew Woods who runs this office very poorly. I came to see Dr Mills right before Christmas. She didn't write Rx correctly and therefore pharmacy didn't release it to me. Pharmacy called and faxed multiple times and I called multiple times the same day , no response! Dr Mills also gave me steroid medication (she wrote that Rx correctly) that made things way worse . The entire holiday weekend I was burning from it! So when everyone returned from the holidays back to work, this office did not and they did not have a message saying that they are not coming back from the Christmas holidays like all regular people. So I've been and pharmacy has been calling them for another couple of days after Christmas with no response. Dr Woods, do you even read reviews about your practice? Why open the practice if you CANT run it? Time to fire your managers, they are ruining your business and making patients upset ! Oh! And let me tell you how they deal with patients who have not been treated correctly. They sent me a letter dismissing me from the office. So basically, if they don't like you, they will kick you out and won't refund your money! Unbelievable practice! They won't admit their mistakes and blame it all on patients! I gave them 2 because of history and this review is more of the office staff than Dr. Woods. I made my appointment to see Dr. Woods in January of 2023 for January 2024. I arrived the time they wants which was 15 minutes before my appointment and told the receptionist I was there for an appointment with Dr. Woods. After waiting an additional 20-25 minutes to be call back to a room only to be told my appointment was with a physician I had never see before. I have been a patient of Dr. Woods about 5 years and haven't seen anyone else or wanted to be seen by another Dr. So making an appointment a year in advanced did not guarantee I would have an appointment when they told me. They offered to "work me in" which meant I could have been there another hour or whenever. People have lives beyond Dr. appointments now I will either need to find a new physician or make another appointment to hope they get it correct the next time. This was a wasted morning as I don't live next door and had to drive 40 minutes to the appointment which didn't happen. read more

I rarely leave yelp reviews but this was an infuriating experience. I waited weeks to be seen due to a strange rash. The doctor spent maybe 5 minutes with me, barely looked at the rash, and then I received a $300 bill in the mail within 5 days. Not to mention she spent more time telling the new MA how to chart my info than actually looking at the issue. She prescribed some things for me (I'm pregnant) that are NOT safe for pregnancy. She knew I was pregnant. Bad medicine. The one she did prescribe needed further forms filled out by the doctor, it's now been a month and nothing has been filled out. Even after calling multiple times and promises they will be filled out. The only reason I left two stars is for the pleasant front office staff. I'm sorry but wtf did you charge $300 for? You did nothing, and I paid a copay. Absolutely absurd. I'm sure they're billing for things they never even did. Will never go back. read more

We have tried twice now to set appointments with Dr. Woods or Dr. Mills and every time the scheduler takes all our information, and card insurance data, assigns the appointment; then, puts us on hold to comeback and says "sorry I am here with my manager and she says someone else took the appointment and there is not any availability now until July". Why do they make me to be on hold when she already saw I had gone to their practice before and I am going their at the recommendation of my previous dermatologist, Dr. Lines, all to tell me that they cannot see me? First encounters with this office were great. After my follow up appointment I was prescribed medications. My script wouldn't go through electronically. I phoned a 4th time and asked they call it in due to the data breach with eRx. She told me it's not effecting her or anyone else and she hadn't heard of it. Making an appointment with them requires you to book out far which is fine. I took time off work for the appointment and they call me to reschedule an entire month out. Cool fine whatever. Took more time off work for next appointment and I was called AGAIN to reschedule. I politely expressed my frustration and they were able to keep the day but move my time around. A week before said appointment I get a call AGAIN to reschedule! At this point I said just cancel it. She asks me if I'm sure and I told her yes that it was frustrating and she says ok then clicks on me. I was so furious! It is my pleasure to tell you about the communication and care Heather provided to me today. The automated communication ( aka KLARA ) is just not friendly and actually UNFRIENDLY. I was forced to hang up on "KLARA" so many times and tried desperately to follow prompts to the point of exhaustion. It seemed there was no other option! \ Never was there an opportunity to just get through to a real person. KLARA must be fired and sent to a secluded island!!! Desert Sky Dermatology has many courteous, helpful staff members that can and will help patients if given the opportunity. Unfortunately, by the time "KLARA" has interfered, it has taken so much time that "WE", the clients/patients, are justifiably annoyed. But then ~ up pops one of the many staff members that really do want to provide "CUSTOMER SERVICE"! That was, to my good fortune, HEATHER!!! HEATHER WAS EXCEPTIONALLY Friendly, Concerned, Pleasant and so easy to talk to while she understood the complexity of the reason for my call. This is who should be answering the calls of patients. The many staff members employed by Desert Sky do a great job to make us (the patients) feel cared for while " KLARA " does not accomplish sufficient customer service. My suggestion is as follows : Fire KLARA and Distribute "her" salary to the many great employees that would appreciate a raise! read more

Been here twice with two kiddos and both were seen by two different doctors. They are very kind and very patient. The second time the wait to get on the calendar was over a month out but when I asked about a cancel list they found me an appointment the next week. The staff is also incredibly kind and prompt. Carlie is amazing! My wedding was 3 months away and I had really bad acne. I wanted to get it under control before the big day. In those 3 months, she completely turned my skin around. Now almost 2 years later, my skin almost never has any blemishes. If I do get one, it's gone in a few days. She is such an amazing doctor and truly listens to your concerns. I went in to get a full body skin check and a couple of moles reviewed. The assistant was very nice and he took the initial info. Then came in the doctor, but she was not very approachable. As she did her skin check, I felt like she was rushing. I had many questions and answers were vague. When I stated I wanted 2 "moles" reviewed, it seemed as if she did not want to do it but since I insisted she went ahead. Once moles were reviewed she just said to keep bandaids on and nothing else. I had to call and double check that there weren't any post op procedures I missed-which I did. I think the facility is nice and clean, and front desk ladies are helpful. Im hoping next time I can get a different doctor, someone who is willing to do their job and listen to their patient. read more

Secretary stated, the End of February is soonest appointment... when I ask for recommendation on other offices they say, "I don't know of any other offices with sooner appointments." I said, "seriously, in all of Phoenix, you don't know of any other offices?" "No," she said! Either this industry is seriously cut-throat here in AZ or this lady is just not helpful.. So efficient! I haven't been to a dermatologist since I was in high school so I didn't really know what to expect. Now that I'm experiencing some hormonal acne, I was able to get scheduled for a couple of months out. I called to reschedule and they were able to get me in today, over a month and a half sooner due to a cancellation. PSA: Medical Office = Stupid long wait times! Today I had an Dermatology Appointment to get a couple spots inspected. I was prepared for a long wait and expected I'd need to fill out endless forms, even though I'd already filled them out online. Then of course, I knew I'd get shuffled into a room to wait another excessively long time. I arrived at 1:45 for a 2 PM appointment. I only had to sign 2 documents regarding my identity. I was ushered into my room by an amazingly nice person, then the Doctor Matthew Woods arrived within 5ish minutes. Discussed my concerns, gave me an "inspection," discussed treatment options, stuck a spike into the side of my head! Ok it was just a little freezing off of a blemish, but yowza! Then I was out! First let me start by saying this would've been a five star review had we not had issues at the very end with billing. Although, the error was resolved quickly had my husband not questioned the fees we would have been overcharged almost $90 for an procedure that was not done. This was our first time going to Desert Sky, everybody in the front office was very nice and it was very large and clean inside. We were greeted by Emily who took us back to our room and discussed the nature of our visit and then Ty came in and did skin checks on both my husband and I. He answered all of our questions. Both were very pleasant and Ty seemed experienced and knowledgeable. I felt that they took their time with us we didn't feel rushed during the appointment which is nice. I went in for Volbella injections for my lips. Dani was very nice and informative, she applied a numbing cream prior to the injections and she was very careful to make sure that I was absolutely numb. They also listened to my request for natural looking lips. I just needed them plumped a bit, to fill out the lines and make my upper lip a bit fuller. Ty Nielson PA-C was the Provider that performed the injections. He was very careful and attentive to the correct placement of the needle. I had no idea how complex this procedure was and I am so glad that I had this performed by a true professional. My lips look fabulous! I highly recommend this clinic for this procedure. So very pleased with this practice. I recently moved from California and have been putting off the cumbersome task of finding a new Dermatologist. I searched Yelp and so glad I did. This practice had great reviews and I understand why! I scheduled an appointment for consult and same day treatment of a mole that was aggravating me. My appointment was booked 3 weeks out, but that is to be expected of a thriving practice. I was seen by Dr. Wing. Dr. Wing has outstanding bedside manner. He was very thorough and proficient. I was treated the same day since he had some flexibility with his schedule. I was given care instructions and not rushed through my appointment. It makes me wonder why all healthcare facilities don't utilize online paperwork (the kind you don't have to print). It makes so much more sense and is super convenient. The facility was nice, clean, and bright. Dr. Rkein made sure to address all of my concerns during my visit and really helped with my skin issues.
