I ended up booking for Wednesday afternoon, parked nearby the coffee shop. Wasn't a busy day. Arlene is such a hair expert! I told her I prefer short hair for the volume and she showed me some ideas. We decided that a short bob would be best to fix my mess! She did a fantastic job fixing up the uneven pieces, making sure to fix the bangs so it would grow out nicely. She also showed me how to style it at home, since short hair is high maintenance. I'm super happy with how it turned out, and I'll definitely be back when it's time to trim. Hopefully by then I will have learned my lesson!

However, when it came time to be seen, I was told it had been cancelled. It took multiple receptionists to realize that one of them had accidentally canceled it. The problem is that I was never notified. I didn't receive a cancellation email or text despite having notifications enabled, and no one could explain why I wasn't contacted. If I had been notified, I wouldn't have wasted over two hours driving. What was most disappointing was how the situation was handled. There was no tangible effort to make things right--no attempt to fit me in, prioritize me for another appointment, or offer any accommodation after I had cleared my schedule to see them and spent so much time traveling and waiting. I understand that mistakes happen, but unfortunately, I left feeling like my time wasn't valued, and I can't recommend a salon that handles scheduling errors this way. Additional note: My appointment was originally in August, but I rescheduled for July. I received a cancellation email for the August booking, but never the July one because I didn't cancel it. Edit: They claimed to have offered to schedule me with the soonest available appointment, but what's to guarantee that my appointment isn't mistakenly cancelled again? What's your new procedure to ensure my time isn't wasted? Will I receive an email notification this time? I can also schedule at home for your "soonest available appointment," so ultimately I was still offered poor customer service.

She's incredibly knowledgeable and even showed us exactly what she was finding. Vanessa is helping us for the first time, and she's been great as well, very thorough and helpful. I'm especially glad both of my kids can be treated at the same time, so we don't have to spend double the time here. The interior of the salon is gorgeous and everyone seemed friendly, however. To start, my appointment was set for 12:15 but my stylist was still finishing the client before, so I had to wait 15 minutes to be seen. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but it didn't leave the best first impression. Then when we were talking about what I wanted to achieve, I showed her reference photos and told her I wanted to even out my layers and keep the bottom length while refreshing and trimming the layers to look like a reference photo I brought. She insisted that I tell her the specific length I wanted off of my layers and I told her I wasn't sure what the exact measurements would be. I'm not a hair stylist and usually when I get my hair done my stylists don't have an issue giving suggestions during the consultation or using the reference images to gauge what to do, but she kept saying I needed to know the specific length to tell her to cut. Ultimately I ended up telling her one inch and she proceeded with trimming my hair. Once she styled my hair at the end, I noticed that there was quite a disconnect from my bottom layer with my top sections. The bottom layer looked uneven to me and unblended. It seemed too thick and stuck out from the top layers. I also explained to her that I have a perm that is growing out, and it looked a bit off after she had styled it. The top part was frizzy to me and the bottom looked choppy to me but she just trimmed some more while saying that the layers are actually all blended together, but it's just because of my grown out perm. I added a picture of my hair that is washed and dried at home to compare and it still looks unblended to me.
