I stopped by to pick up items for japchae and bulgogi which are two dishes Koreans make during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Here in America you can get those foods at any Korean restaurant year round. Overseas the average Korean family doesn't eat either one once a week. I have a great friend coming to visit and I purchased the foods necessary to prepare japchae and bulgogi at Christmas along with the ingredients to make birthday soup. My friend will be cooking. Yum! While I was at Holiday International Market, I saw radish kimchi and picked some up. It's not fermented yet and will be by Christmas hopefully. Entering the store on the right side at the front were several varieties of rices. I looked to the left and the cold section was the distance of the length of the store and stocked with several varieties of noodles, tofu's, vegetables, fresh fish, fresh shrimp and much more. There was NO SMELL from the seafood. I walked around the store admiring all the clean floors and shelves which is expected from a new business. The young man at the cash register was friendly and helpful. He didn't hover and I appreciated that. I purchased several items and was pleased with my grocery haul. I used to go in early on Saturday to buy fresh lettuces for Korean BBQ. The owner was always nice and helpful. She made the best tasting tteokbokki. Ground beef was lean, oxtails were trimmed very well so I wasn't paying a lot for fat and the dogs are still chewing on the bones two weeks later. I work for a Vet and he approved the raw femur bones for my large dogs. Never give cooked bones, rawhide, ears, or bones from fowl. Im so glad I found this meat market. The butcher was so very nice and helpful.

Southern cooking is appreciated and I can find my staples such White Lily self rising for biscuits as well as sage sausage to make the gravy that goes on the biscuits. And as far as the pharmacy- even if there weren't enough good reason to shop there the pharmacy would be my reason. You know that small percentage of patients that report side effects? That's me the statistics are talking about. The pharmacist saved my life when I called about a newly prescribed drug and how it was making me feel. It turned out to be a dangerous reaction. So when you can trust a store that meets all of your needs why go anywhere else?
