To call their products a scam would be an understatement. They offer "made to order" dresses where they take your measurements in person and tell you to order a size which is far from accurate. The result is being charge several hundred dollars for a dress that you are required to pay the same price for in adjustments, essentially doubling the price that you're paying for for the dress. Half the bridesmaids received measurement suggestions that were so off base, either the dress was leaving cuts on their shoulders from being so small or completely fell off the body it had to be completely re-made by a tailor. To top it off their "customer service" does anything but provide "service". They are unhelpful, rude, and offer no solutions or support. They'll send you 20% off marketing emails and then refuse to offer any kind of price adjustment after failing to fulfill their service agreement in the contract they force you to sign in ordering the dress. Then, after all of that - half of the bridesmaids dresses fully ripped at the seams during the actual wedding. Please, save your bridesmaids the $500-$600 they'll have to spend on the trash that Jenny Yoo sells and let them order off the rack at any other retailer. read more

About 3 weeks ago. I helped my best friend look for her wedding dress. We were assisted by Kenna and Monica was shadowing. If you make an appointment ask for either one of them they were amazing. I have been following Jenny Yoo for quite some time since I've been engaged! I finally got to see their showroom after making an appointment with them last week. I got to work with Natalie who was very friendly, patient and very helpful in helping me find 'the dress' for my wedding! Usually some bridal shops give you a limit of 5 dresses but for Jenny Yoo, I was able to try on multiple dresses, as long as it was within the hour limit which is great if you're not sure about what style flatters your body or to your liking! If you are a modern, easy, budget conscious bride - this is the only place for you! I wouldn't even try anywhere else tbh. This was the first place that I went to try on wedding dresses and I was a definitely bit nervous and overwhelmed going into it a whole wedding dress experience but the entire Jenny Yoo Team is a well oiled machine who is there to walk you through every step of the way. From their social media to their online assortment to scheduling the appointment to the beautiful salon to the exceptional staff, I wish I could do it again!! I recommend this to literally everyone that is in the NYC area. Location: easy to get to by subway! Timing: booked an early 11 am appointment so that everyone was awake and fresh, highly recommend. The appointment started on time which was great. I was there with my bridesmaids for about 1-1.5 hours, which seriously flew by. Process: I spoke with my bridal stylist, Olivia, who is the absolute sweetest. I told her about my wedding, budget, and style and she did her magic! I tried on a total of 7 dresses and ended up falling in love with the second dress I tried on. There are also clear slip on heels in various sizes in the fitting room which was incredibly convenient. Fitting rooms and vibes are super comfy and not intimidating at all. Olivia accessorized and made me realize that I love a good veil!! She also took my measurements and wrote down everything for me to take home. Pricing: Most dresses are around $1000-$1500, which is definitely affordable compared to the other bridal salons that I was researching. The dress I couldn't stop thinking about was $2000, which was a bit over my budget, but I saw it on the hanger and knew I had to try it on!! I did not feel any pressure at all when I was there. Right when I got engaged I knew what designer I wanted for my wedding! I was looking for a wedding designer that created modern, minimal, and elegant wedding dresses. Jenny Yoo was a dream come true! She has such a great variety to choose from. When trying on different wedding dresses, you can tell the quality of the fabric within each dress. I loved how every dress was so comfortable and more importantly very moveable. Compared to other wedding dresses that I tried on at other stores, I felt like I was wearing a costume and couldn't comfortably walk around in the dress. Also, I am a very petite bride. I was scared that I would look like I was drowning in my wedding dress. However, there wasn't any Jenny Yoo dress that made me feel that way. All of the dresses here felt more light and airy, which was exactly what I was looking for. I ended up going with the Jessilyn dress and couldn't be happier! Extremely disappointed in my visit. I noted in my appt request the types of dresses and styles I wanted as well as my regular dress size. When I got there and the consultant measured me, disappeared, came back and told me they had NOTHING for me to try on. NOTHING on my list, no alternatives, NOTHING and then recommended I make an appt at Anthropologie instead where they have more Jenny Yoo wedding dresses. I was in such shock and left quickly. I know regular clothes and bridal sizes don't match but I'd like to think at this point you'd have an idea of how to convert your sizes and if you had NOTHING for me to begin with, you could've let me know and cancelled my appt instead of me wasting my time going there. They apologized but it's like WOW ya'll really dropped the ball. Note someone wrote me a few days before my appt: "I can confirm that we have samples of the styles to try on. The consultant will pull the closest sizes for you to try on". Editing the review after their response. The date I put in my email (that they replied to btw) with sizes, styles, etc. was the same date I said to the consultant in-person. read more

Some of the dresses were gorgeous, but the person working with our bride was so indignant, condescending, and rude she totally sucked all the joy out of this special day. Pretty sure our bride found "the dress" but she wasn't sure because the store associate was so glib and cold rushing her though everything, blowing through descriptions for the dress and fabric, and pushing us out of the shop early. Repeating the exact same answers when our bride asked questions and making her feel stupid. I'll hesitantly share the associate was Sarah L so that folks can try to avoid her. Really deeply tarnished this once in a life time memory, I'm not sure why she works here because she seems to hate it too much to even pretend to y care, which sucks for her as much as the bride and friends visiting the store. Our bride asked to try a certain accessory and the associate gave a face like "are you serious that sooo lame and ugly", and I know because unfortunately her irritated demeanor ruined nearly everyone of our photos. read more

My appointment at Jenny Yoo was my first and it paved the way for my visits to five other places. The selection of dresses is vast and the studio itself is beautiful and warm. There was one other bride trying on dresses but we never crossed paths so it felt very private and as if we had the shop to ourselves! Sarah L was my stylist and she made me feel welcome and less scared, had knowledge about the dresses I had picked out, and answered my (incessant) questions. She also helped to take photos and let me try on some veils to imagine what the complete look might look like. On top of this, we spoke more casually throughout the hour which just made me feel way more comfortable, like I was with a friend. I came back to try my dress on a last time before ordering. This time I had a stylist who I embarrassingly can't remember the name of but she is petite with bright pink hair and was wearing black rimmed glasses. She was also super friendly and helpful, made recommendations about sizing options, adding to my previous experience and solidifying my choice to go with Jenny Yoo! My experience with Jenny Yoo has been incredibly positive. The dress is exactly what I was looking for and at least half the price of other designers. And with the cost of weddings, what a god send! I can't say enough good things about my experience trying on wedding dresses at Jenny Yoo. When my group first entered the salon, we immediately noticed how good it smelled and how bright and welcoming the space felt. The stylist I worked with, Erin, is an absolute gem and made the appointment so fun and special for my family and me. Since this was my first ever time trying on dresses, I was pretty nervous, but Erin made me feel at ease. The appointment moved at a really natural pace, and I never felt rushed or pressured. She paid close attention to my preferences while still suggesting other options that were a bit more out of my comfort zone, and I ended up loving some dresses that I never would've expected. Erin was also really sensitive to my comfort when it came to things like taking measurements. As a street size 12-14 with a ~$1,500 budget, I also appreciated how she embraced my budget and was able to pull plenty of sample dresses that she made fit beautifully. One dress and veil combination Erin suggested actually made my mom cry, and it was such a special moment that we wouldn't have had without her guidance. In the end, I left with two very strong contenders that fit very well into my budget, feeling excited and confident about my bridal look! I had such a great experience from start to finish with Jenny Yoo NYC it was a must I came on Yelp to rave about it. I have been planning quite accordingly as appointments were hard to come by (covid restrictions). I initially contacted Jenny Yoo about my 4 bridesmaids coming in to try on dresses together, keeping restrictions in mind. They were able to accommodate us while ensuring we felt safe. Kayleigh & Desiree were both so highly responsive both over phone and e-mail. With a total of two appointments, one with my MOH to finalize a color scheme and one with all my girls, the entire process took about 1.5 hours. All in all I would say the staff is so understanding of one's vision, they made it come to life almost immediately. My experience trying on wedding dresses at Jenny Yoo was lovely. My stylist, Ally, was so sweet and helpful. I really loved working with her. The shop is pretty and has a relaxed atmosphere. I was the only customer in the salon, so I really felt I had her whole attention. I never felt pressure to buy, either. The only negative comment I have pertains to the actual quality of the dresses themselves, which was inferior to many other gowns I tried on from different designers. However, the prices are reasonable and if you are trying to stay within a lower budget, Jenny Yoo would certainly be a fine choice. read more

Having been a bridesmaid at many weddings over the years, when it came time to plan my wedding, I wanted my bridesmaids to have flattering dresses that they would be able to wear again. I didn't want them to have another dress to add to their closet graveyards of taffeta and sateen. I immediately fell in love with Jenny Yoo's selection, and arranged for my bridesmaids (or at least the ones that lived in NYC or were able to make it up) to have a fitting. This boutique was super flexible, and Taylor was great at helping my bridesmaids pick out dresses that were flattering. Jenny Yoo was also really great at accommodating fittings. not a good experience at all and not worth the price. I was unable to make a decision between two bridesmaid dresses during the appointment time so was told I could email and let them know what I decided. I emailed them within 15 minutes of leaving the appt and didn't hear back. Four days later I followed up by phone call and was told I would need to pay for rush shipping now for dress to come in time for the wedding. extremely frustrating since I emailed them right after I left appt and this was not originally the case. I finally got the dress 3 months later and it is worse quality than the dress I tried on at the showroom. The dress I received was extremely thin and cheap. it was also the exact same size as the dress I tried on in person, yet somehow was now so much bigger (didn't lose weight). had to pay another $140 to get dress taken in and hemmed. Not sure what the hype is about. Their "made to order" still forces you to pick one size. It's not like knowing your chest/hip/waist size changes the dress they make based on your measurements. For a dress that is a universal size 4 and not in any way customized (and sold in bulk on their website), I am unsure how this can count as a Made To Order. The bride insisted on using Jenny Yoo and now that I am touching the fabric, it's a rip off to pay $300 for a dress that wrinkles quickly and is lower quality. The return policy is clearly stated on the website-- but for future brides, please don't ask your bridesmaids to order dresses that can't be returned. BHLDN also sells Jenny Yoo bridesmaid dresses, and with a much more generous return policy. 3 stars for cheap material, and for a less inclusive shopping and return experience than other major bridal boutiques. Being in this wedding and the cost/headache associated with going through Jenny Yoo has been more stressful than picking my own wedding dress. Chelsea, the NYC showroom manager, found a whole bunch that looked beautiful! She made the whole experience so easy, and so much fun! I scheduled an appointment during the week which I highly recommend. There were a lot less people, I was able to walk around and not feel overwhelmed.
