Update... Have been going to the salon for the past 2 years. I always get coffin shape with dip powder. I have not been too happy the past few months due to the pricing. Most times it's $40. Once, a guy who I'd never seen before and have not seen since, charged me $50. Last week, the young lady who did my nails (and ho was also the same person who did them the last time I was there) charged me $50. When I asked why, she said because they were coffin shaped. Theyre always coffin shaped. I was frustrated, but I paid it. B the time I paid, the manager walked over and whispered to the young lady inquiring about my complaint. The manager then tells me it was $50 because they're long. Mind you, I've been wearing my nails this length and coffin shaped for a very long time. Sometimes I ask them to cut them a little, sometimes I ask they file them down a little. When I questioned the discrepancy in pricing, I was told it's always $50. So is it always $50 or is it because all of a sudden my nails are long or is it because they are coffin shaped?? How do you judge what's 'long' hen there is no guide to go by. There's also no prices listed. When I'm loyal to you, but you try to screw me over, I take my business elsewhere. Pandemic nails!!! It was highly easy to set an appointment & all I did was a quick phone call. I felt nervous at first, but everyone was wearing their masks, people were spread out, dividers were up and sanitizer was easily available too. So I went half blind because I didn't see any prices besides the pedicure price sheet they hand to pick out what pedicure you would like. The Sugar Scrub Pedicure was awesome and I was able to choose my scrub (lavender)! Everything was great. My only ding is that I wish you could include tip when paying by card, but my nail tech (Annie) provided her Venmo and I easily sent her a tip that way. read more

I came here on Saturday because other local nail places were booked and I did not have an appointment anywhere. I was surprised when this place told me to come right in. After my experience today, I won't be back. If you look around at the many, many nail salons within a five mile radius of the area (and there are SO MANY), this place has to be one of the most expensive. They said they raised prices due to COVID, but I cannot justify the price. For reference, I stopped by at my regular spot right before this, and they wanted me to make an appointment there for next week, which is why I did not get it done there. (I was going out that evening and it was spur of the moment.) I had time to look at the price board at the other shop, and they did not change their prices. A pedicure and gel manicure was the same price at the other place as it was before COVID, roughly $43. Here, it is $58. While a regular pedicure at the other shop was $15, this place charges $28. For about $70 ($58 plus expected tip), the job was just not good. It was extremely rushed and took not even 45 minutes. $70 for 45 minutes of sloppy work... No, thank you. Also, at the other place I usually go to, they give you a little hot stone foot massage for a few minutes during your pedicure, and the massage feature on the salon chair is also free at the other place. Here, they charge outrageous prices to use the massaging feature of the salon chair; I think upwards of $20. There is no hot stone treatment here, either. I will just remember to make an appointment at my usual place next time. read more

Came in on Saturday as a first-time customer to Designer Nails. Within my first impression there were employees sleeping throughout the salon, and barely any customers. I came in for a simple gel manicure that typically lasts around 30 minutes at my usual salon, but it ended up taking over one hour to complete. A gel manicure with a simple design should not take that long. Secondly, the nail tech consistently commented on how "horrific" my nails initially looked, and in return, thought it made most sense to drill and file down my nails to the consistency of printer paper. I am a preschool teacher and am in no-way rough with my hands on a daily basis. My nails are usually strong and healthy, but now feel incredibly thin, and frankly uncomfortable as if they will break at any moment. Third, I got my nails done on Saturday, and it is now Tuesday. I came to find one of my nails is now chipped. It typically takes around two-three weeks for my gel nails to chip. I have never had gel nails chip this soon after an appointment. Lastly, I asked for a simple "heart" design on a few of my fingers. During my appointment, my nails tech was busy chatting with other employees to notice how horrible of a job she had done. The "hearts" look more like triangles. I told her that this was for a special occasion for my anniversary, yet she did not even remotely attempt to fix the "heart" to make it look better. I am embarrassed to have nails that look like this for such a special occasion. I spent $40+ with the price of the service and tip, for a too-long, half-assed experience. I believe I should be getting a refund for such low-quality nails, for damaging the integrity of my natural nails, and for wasting my time and money, since now I have to get them done again. If I could give no stars I would. I went for a pedicure and got cold water and my big toe cracked in half. He then tried to cover it up by using super glue to attempt to put my nail back together. I go to this place because it's convenient & I usually don't have to wait but today is my last time. The staff is generally nice & welcoming & their quality of work is just okay. What is unbearable every time I come is their clientele. Today was my final straw. A lady came in & made a loud announcement after taking off her mask saying "I got the shots. I can't get any of you sick." & then proceeded to get her nails done. The staff didn't say one word to her about the mask. While she may be vaccinated that is NOT how it works. The vaccine only protects against serious illness. Even once vaccinated you can still be a carrier & you can transmit it to others. I thought this was extremely careless of both the staff & customer. This was the first time I used Designer Nails and wow, the disappointment is real. My friends and I were so excited to try a new salon, especially after not going for a year during COVID. For timeline references, we went on Saturday afternoon and today is Friday afternoon. We all started with pedicures and those were lovely but way too expensive for a simple regular polish ($28). My technician, Ashley, said she was going to put three coats of my light colored polish on and said she was going to do the last coat and top coat in a few minutes for unknown reasons. Instead of just waiting a few minutes...she did it after my gel manicure was done and ended up smudging both big toes and not redoing them. I still don't understand that. After the pedicure, I was so ready for my simple gel manicure. I was showing Ashley my inspiration pics of galaxy nails but as a simple matte black design with white dots. She was eager to do the design and we were off. My nails were already shaped by myself in the almond design and I asked for two tips because my nails recently broke. She ended up putting on five without my consent and did not warn me that getting a nail shape that wasn't rounded or square would cost $5 dollars (!!!) more. Half my nails were already shaped almond and she didn't even touch them!! Not to mention that she didn't push my cuticles back and didn't fully coat my nails because of that. My technician was super unclear on what she wanted me to do with my nails to dry them and took out a gel light machine instead of just having me use the built in ones. In the end, my nails had air bubbles in them UNDER GEL POLISH AND MATTE TOPCOAT. Not even a week later, my all my nails are chipped and two of the tips broke off. What a disappointment. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is not clean and hygienic. They don't clean in between customers at the manicure table. There was nail dust everywhere and clippings. The person doing my nails didn't listen to what I wanted, even after I repeating myself. He was actually hurting me while working on my manicure, even after I said something. He kept using his long thumb nail to clean off my nails and digging his own thumbnail into my nail beds. That is very gross and unhygienic. The gel manicure itself also doesn't look nice, and my cuticles weren't cleaned well. Never going back. Very unhygienic. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

My husband and I went in there to get pedicures and I got a gel manicure. The prices are outrageous $28 for a pedicure. And my gel manicure took all of 20 minutes and it looked awful, a few days later the gel Polish started to bubble. No 6 feet distancing either, there is someone right next to you in a pedicure chair which is about 3 feel away and I made note because I'm a doctor, that no one wiped the chair down before another person sits down. Don't go here save your money and go somewhere else, where it's more Covid conscious and where the owner isn't constantly talking about when she had Covid. Salon is immaculate and just beautiful and staff is friendly. It was a very pleasant experience and I kept thinking to myself how I would love to come back. That is until it came time to pay. I went with my wife we got pedicures and charged an outrageously high price. I would give them zero stars if I could just for the extremely high prices I could go elsewhere and get a manicure AND pedicure for the price I paid. That alone was enough to make me never want to go back. They really need to post their prices in their salon. I would have walked out had I known what I was going to pay. If they were to lower their prices I may be willing to give them another shot because as I said the experience was pleasant in the staff was friendly but those prices were the highest I've ever seen at any salon.
