We were clients of this establishment since they first opened in the summer of 2018. We would get our hair cut, styled and have manicures done at least once a month. To anyone that owns a business, having long term clients is a HUGE deal. In addition to our monthly care, we would often purchase hair care products too. We all know how expensive buying salon quality products can be. By first look it is very appealing to the eye. There was a certain calm Zen like feeling. However once you start going there on a regular basis, you can feel the general tone of the business go way down. For instance, you cannot have a conversation with your hairstylist without everyone chiming in with their thoughts and opinions. The manager will tell you that you are talking too loudly, which may have been true but we found that rude. When you get a manicure, you are taken to the nail room in the back of the salon. While you are getting a manicure, the owner of the spa paces from the front of the store to the nail room. They try to see what is getting done and take notice of the amount of time spent with a client. We thought this to be intrusive. A client is paying top dollar for services so you would think that the nail technician would take their time and do a good job. Of course not, my nails looked good for a day and the gel manicure would start to chip and peel off my nails. The owner blamed the brand of gel polish. Sometimes it would last a couple weeks and sometimes it would last maybe 3 days tops. Three days at a cost of $45 is ridiculous. As time went on the spa developed a very cold and uninviting atmosphere. The treatment of their employees was horrible. The treatment towards long term clients became increasingly worse. The final straw. On Halloween (not a National Holiday) the owner called and had to cancel our hair appointments at the last minute because she let her employees go home early and she had no one to sit at the reception desk. As we are the owners of many businesses, we aim to please our clients. If we being the owner had to cover the reception desk, it gets done. End of story. I wish it was the end of the story because the owner of the spa refused to cover her reception desk so we could get our haircuts. So naturally, we took our business elsewhere and I encourage all of you to do the same. If you continue to go there, don't schedule appointments around any holidays. Forget about trying to make a late evening appointment because the owner as she told us "has a life" and cannot keep the spa open late to accommodate the average working "Joe". This Spa/Salon is amazing. I went in last week for a Brazilian Blowout to treat my coarse, frizzy, and hard to manage hair. I left the spa feeling like I had a whole different head of hair and was extremely satisfied. In comparison to other salons in the Yardley/Newtown area, this service is extremely affordable at Yardley Day Spa and perfect for this hot, humid summer. The owner, Sherry, and staff truly cares about their customers with promising results. I couldn't be happier to find an extremely beautiful and professional spa/salon in the area. I had an appointment with Amber to have my hair highlighted and trimmed and couldn't have been happier with the experience. I didn't get to see much of the spa itself but the front area where I had my hair done was clean and calming. Amber refreshed my blonde highlights perfectly which is no small feat given my hair is not only very long but I also had gone a few months since last having it done.
