Located in a corner lot with private parking, this cozy cafe offers a decent selection of boba, smoothies and snacks. And there is plenty of indoor seating if you want to stay and enjoy your meal. I went for my usual go-to for my visit, Passion Fruit Green Tea w/ boba. The drink was nice and sweet, and the boba had a good consistency to it. Being conveniently close to Costco, I plan to make this my go-to boba stop moving forward during my Costco runs.

Since I genuinely didn't enjoy it, I politely asked if they could remake it or let me exchange it for a different drink. Instead, I was told that if I wanted something else, I would have to purchase another drink. The only solution offered was $1 off a second drink, which was disappointing considering I had only taken one sip. At that point, I already knew the drink wasn't for me. As a customer, I wasn't expecting a refund. I simply hoped they would stand behind their product and provide good customer service. What disappointed me the most wasn't just the drink it was how the situation was handled. A small gesture, such as remaking the drink or allowing an exchange, could have turned a negative experience into a positive one and earned a loyal returning customer. Instead, I left feeling that customer satisfaction wasn't a priority. Sadly, because of this experience, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this place to my friends, family, or clients.

I also noticed that their prices seem to have dropped a bit--at one point, drinks were creeping up into the $9 range, which felt very steep. As for the Halo-Halo drink itself, I really like the concept. It's a taro-coconut milk tea loaded with toppings like boba, egg pudding, lychee jelly, and maybe a few others I forget. The drink was surprisingly not too sweet--which isn't a bad thing--but I personally would've preferred a sweeter flavor profile to better match the traditional Halo-Halo flavor. Still, the overall taste was nice and mellow. They also offer an "ice blended" version of the Halo-Halo, which I imagine might be closer to the real deal. I'm curious to try that next time.

Mochi: Soft and chewy, and the ice cream inside was delicious. Yuzu Soft Serve: Super creamy with the perfect hint of yuzu. I was expecting it to be a little more tart, but I honestly wasn't mad that it wasn't. The serving was huge too! I had to share because there was no way I was finishing that large cup by myself. Mango Matcha: Perfectly balanced. The mango didn't taste artificial at all, and neither flavor overpowered the other. Passion Fruit Slush: Usually my go-to when I want something refreshing, and theirs did not disappoint. The passion fruit flavor was perfectly balanced without tasting watered down, and the slushy ice texture was everything. They even add a passion fruit jam with actual passion fruit seeds in it. I was already so full, but I could not stop drinking it. Uji Time may seem a little pricey at first, but honestly, nothing disappointed and it was worth every penny. The staff were a little awkward and didn't seem very enthusiastic--they were pretty monotone and not particularly welcoming. But everything tasted fresh and well made, so I didn't let it bother me too much. Overall, I really enjoyed everything we ordered and I'll definitely be coming back whenever I'm in the area!

The place is a bit small, with claw machines and a small area where they sell merchandise. Ordering is simple via a kiosk. The menu here is unique, meaning that the one in pleasant hill is mainly different than here. I like my roasted milk tea at PH, but I couldn't find it here. Instead, I opted for the Mango Flamingo. Mango Flamingo: Mango green tea with Hibiscus on top. This was a rather floral and delicious drink. The mango portion of the tea was not too sweet and the hibiscus was a nice addition. The mango star jelly added the extra sweetness I liked to complete the drink. Overall, finally nice to try it in person and if I am around the area, looking forward to trying more.

This was my first time visiting them again since the ownership change so it's been a minute. What I see here now is just depressing, not just because the place was empty, but it's now devoid of anything that felt like a spot someone would want to hangout at. No music, when I got in there was one person waiting for their food and nobody was even at the front counter for minutes before somebody finally came out from the back. Ordering is just through the kiosk now, which isn't a bad thing. The part that was really rough was the reason why I even came here; the boba. I got a regular milk tea which now they only have a single size. I miss the extra large size they used to have, but oh well. The next issue comes with how much the boba actually costs. They may have gotten rid of the extra large cup sizes, but they're still charging the almost the same amount for it in a much smaller cup. What a deal, right? And we get to the actual drink. When the person making the drink after receiving your order finishes within a minute of making it, it's never a good sign. Why is that? Well, they had premade jug of milk tea ready to pour out for your tasting pleasure. When you have a premade jug of milk tea, it's never a good sign. While I've had them at other places that have done this before, and it's ranged from bad to mediocre, the one here at Milk Tea Lab, now, was in a word, rancid. It was incredibly gross with absolutely no redeeming qualities to it. I generally try not to be so harsh, but this was really not it and I couldn't even finish the boba because of how bad the milk tea was. It's sad to see how big of a dropoff this spot has become compared to what it used to be. This isn't like when they first opened where there were only 2-3 boba spots right next to them. Now there's at least a handful of options within a few minutes away, and dozens of spots within a mile or two, and this is what they're pushing out? It's a shame but this Milk Tea Lab which was their starter store is no longer a place I would ever go back to for boba. It's time is now past with this new ownership.

She must've misheard me when I said, oat milk, cause she started using whole milk after I ordered. I told her I have dairy sensitivities. And she said that is the only milk that she had. But this was after I paid for the drink... i've never had a problem at other locations with no other dairy options. ...there was also barely any Boba and half the drink was red bean. Very disappointed. I must've been fourth in line after a family, and three other customers were served before me. If you have dairy sensitivity, DO NOT come here. I do not recommend it. Probably not coming back here again.
