    Dubai chocolate crepe
    Chastity V.

This is a small dessert stand in a market that serves very sweet takeout desserts. I walked in and placed an order on their iPad for a Dubai chocolate crepe ($16.38). No one called my name or acknowledged when I grabbed my order. Their two employees talked to each other but not to the customers. Zero eye contact, as well. There was also only one table with seats outside, so I took my food home. Parking is also difficult here. But the Dubai Chocolate Crepe (4/5) was pretty tasty, gooey, and rich. It was large crepe as well, good for two people to share. If you don't like your desserts extremely sweet, this might not be for you. I like sweet desserts, so I might come back.

I saw a video of this spot on social media and went to go checked it out. It was a little busy upon arriving and we were just standing there waiting to order until we had asked and realized that there was like an iPad on the counter where we had to order, so maybe putting a visible sign or having the employees welcome and say something would be helpful. I got the Dubai chocolate crepe and added strawberries which came out to about $18. The flavor was good. It is a bit the sweeter side since they do drizzle A LOT of the pistachio and chocolate on top. The strawberries were necessary to balance out the sweetness, but without it, I think it would've been a little too sweet. It's big enough to share and the presentation was great.

This is a no frill dessert spot. It is nested inside the grocery store so while you wait, you can buy some middle eastern grocery and snacks. We got the banana biscoff crepe because I love banana and Biscoff cookies and it also has chocolate on top. It is $15 after tax but it is a very delicious and huge crepe with tons of banana and cream. I was so impressed with the crepe!!! For me, this is a nice dessert to share with friends and family. I don't think I can eat this whole crepe by myself. Will come back to try Dubai Chocolate next!

Wanted to love it but I don't. We ordered the Dubai chocolate strawberries and banana biscoff kunafa. I was shocked at the price for each item! The strawberries were $16 and the kunafa was $14. The strawberries were very ripe and fresh, but that wasn't my main gripe. I wish the pistachio sauce had more flavor. I could be wrong, but it tasted like white chocolate which is a huge disappointment. Pistachio sauce/cream is one of my favorite flavorings and this did not meet the mark. The kataifi was pink and had a sweet flavor to it, which also over powered the already sweet dessert. I was looking for rich chocolate, cold pistachio, and a salty crunch. Unfortunately, I got sweet paired with more sweet, paired with sweeter. Just too sweet to actually enjoy. The biscoff was also a letdown. Super sweet with minimal richness and salt from the cheese. It had the same dyed phyllo with an underlying sweetness and a definite imbalance of flavors. Would I come back here again? Probably, but for other food items. Their savory food selections smelled and looked incredible. I think for dessert, they deviated from their cultural roots to cater to the American flavors which is so disappointing! Maybe the savory options will hit the mark.

The Sweet Spot really hit the spot! I ordered the Dubai chocolate crepe and it was absolutely delicious! so rich & gooey. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the portion was generous. If you have a sweet tooth, this place is a must-visit!

Can't believe we found this gem of a spot nestled in the Sunnyvale Market! High quality sweets from a local business. So surprised this spot is not more talked about. We ordered a Dubai Chocolate Kunafa (Knafeh) and it was made fresh on the spot for us. There were many other flavors to choose from as well (and strawberry cups - Dubai Chocolate, Biscoff, etc), but we were curious about the Knafeh. We took it to go and it stayed hot and crispy the whole way home. So tasty and really hit the spot! We will be back!

The banana biscoff kunafa is good. It's kinda sweet so i would recommend sharing. I had no idea there is a cheese in the middle but it's actually very good

Just discovered this late night spot is at my favorite little Persian market so automatically knew it was going to be great. There wasn't a big wait but definitely was a spot to be at for the time we went. They do take orders online which might be the way to go. We got the Dubai chocolate strawberry cup and the Dubai chocolate kunafa. The strawberries were perfectly ripe and the little crispy pieces of shredded phyllo dough accompanied by the rich chocolate and pistachio sauce was everything and more. The kunafa treat was also special but wishing the sweet cheese in the middle was more melted but again the flavors were amazing. Great late night sweet spot and really well curated. Will come again when I'm not on my diet to fully immerse myself again.

I started trying to lose weight about a month ago and finally began to see some progress. Naturally, I felt it was the perfect time to reward myself. This time, I decided to check out The Sweet Spot, as they just opened recently. Prior to this, I had never tried any Middle Eastern desserts. I ended up getting the Banana Biscoff Kunafa, and it was absolutely worth every bite. I'll definitely be coming back to try the Dubai Chocolate Kunafa so I can compare them, but honestly, everything on the menu looked delicious. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a tasty dessert--or to break their diet and not feel too bad about it. Overall: 9.7/10

Just like others I really wanted to like this place. Went on Saturday at 6ish pm. First off it's not visibly easy to find. Parking can be a pain. We had to park across the street. It's located in a small market store next to hot food that the store sells. There is a counter with an iPad where you order. No one greeted us or explained what they offered. They did have a menu hanging up and on the Ipad I took my own order. When I was done paying a man behind the counter who was facing the wall said"be ready in 10 mins". Did not turn around or anything. I walked around the store and then heard my name. The guy didn't even acknowledged that I had grabbed my food. I ordered ordered the Dubai chocolate kunafa It was hot and looked beautiful but sadly it did not take good. The kunafa was not crispy, the pistachio cream was thick and the chocolate was meh. Strawberries were good though. Something also left a really bad oil like taste in my mouth. Overall would not go back. Sad cuz this was my birthday treat, oh well!

There were many to choose from, and I'm so glad I overheard the other customers ahead of us saying that the vanilla salted almond toffee flavor was what they are known for. We ended up getting that flavor as one of our two. For our second flavor of two scoops, we ended up getting the marshmallow neapolitan. -Vanilla salted almond toffee: I can see what the other customers meant for "this is what they're known for." I love that the almond is candied/carmelized with toffee. It gives it a roasty flavor, which gives the flavor so much depth. The almond also gives a bit of crunch/texture, which makes this flavor so unique. -Marshmallow neapolitan: I'm not typically someone who likes marshmallows or goes for neapolitan, as I don't like super sweet and I don't like mixing flavors. You can definitely taste all 3 flavors--vanilla, chocolate, strawberry. The marshmallow doesn't make the ice cream as sweet as I would have thought, it really just adds the marshmallow texture. The ice cream is very thick and creamy. It doesn't melt too fast to meld all the flavors together (which I don't really like), and I really appreciate that the ice cream holds together so well! The gentleman helping us was very patient in letting us try several flavors. The shop had a more old time feel. There is a bench to sit on to eat for a bit, but no tables. Overall, I would totally come back to try their unique flavors!

I called the shop several times, but there was no answer, and I even left a voice message but never heard a call back. I appreciated that kind gesture. The next morning, I settled for cupcakes and decided to call the order in and pick up the cupcakes in the afternoon since I had no time that morning to go to the store. But lo and behold, I called and again no one answered. I texted the same number from the day before and a response came back that they would contact the store to give me a call. I checked in by calling the store two more times and still no answer. And no one called back that afternoon either. Sadly, I had to give up, but was glad to give business to a way more responsive bakery with delicious cakes.

Chef Hassan created a customized menu for our group, and every dish was beautifully prepared. I ordered the Beef Wellington, well, because there was absolutely no reason not to when that's on the menu! HA! It was incredible. The flaky dough wrapped around that filet mignon, ooh, amazing. It sat on creamy potatoes and veggies of some sort (it's been a minute, I can't recall the exact option). The private room was nicely lit, there were some candles and flowers across the table as well as wall decor. The server and busser took a little to get things rolling, but eventually things were moving along. We also had a few children in our party, and the staff was wonderful accommodating, which made the evening even more enjoyable. We were so impressed that we came back a second time - just my lady, my 6-month-old daughter, and myself - and it was on a busy Saturday night when you typically need reservations. We were lucky enough that Onur (manager) welcomed us with no hesitation and have us a little space to relax with our daughter and enjoy a wonderful dinner. We ordered the Appetizer for Two, which includes: Bruschetta, Caprese, Prosciutto Melone, & Beet Salad - a perfect amount for the two of us. Then we each got the Beef Wellington. Again, never a disappointment. YOU MUST TRY IT! To finish the night I had a latte and we shared a salted caramel gelato. Absolutely delightful. If you haven't tried La Fontaine, I highly recommend giving them a try. The weekends are busy, so if you're able to step out on a week night, do it. We are so glad we didn't spend our own money for this experience - it was like someone took a Restaurant 101 class and stopped halfway through the course and decided to open doors. La Fontaine is another super overpriced Walnut Creek restaurant whose continued existance can only be an unsolved mystery. On a Friday night at prime dinner hour, the restaurant was almost empty. This allowed us to hear the very bland and sleepy classical elevator music suitable for a funeral home lobby. We were able to puruse the entire menu thoroughly before anyone came to say hello or take our drink order. The menu could not be more uninspired. La Fontaine boasts the passion of Italy with the elegance of France. Um, the only conclusion is that no one at this restaurant has ever been to France or Italy and taken all their cues from a midwestern based "fancy restaurant" menu. We ordered drinks, an appetizer to share and our dinner choices. The appetizer came out 5 minutes before our drinks. I asked for ground pepper as there was no salt or pepper on the table and fresh pepper should be offered with a salad. While waiting for the drinks to arrive, we had plenty of time to look at the cheap silverware that was all banged up and the design inconsistancies of the space. It seemed like they started with a clear design brief but either ran out of money, or interest or most likely, both. The drinks arrived. Another 5 minutes later, the server came back and I asked for pepper again. Oh yeah. The salad was standard good, not great and cost $18. My husband ordered the lamb and I the branzino. His lamb at $52 was unevenly cooked and in a sickly sweet brown fig sauce. The veg was a boiled and bland mixture of broccolli, carrots and green beans. For a restaurant that boasts local and seasonal ingredients, at mid June in California, I have to think they shopped blind (no offense to blind people) and don't know how to prepare vegetables. My branzino was overcooked and very salty at $42. It came with "mango salsa," quotes intentional as it could only be described as small chunks of mango and maybe three tiny tomato chunks. I opted for brussel sprouts instead of the standard veg offering - see above - and those were good, but nothing special. The dessert menu came, we looked, we yawned and declined. Again, what a boring offering and everything had tasted meh to that point so why bother? We quickly left only paying for the tip - the server clearly wasn't going to make any money that night and we felt bad for her despite her very poor service. Conclusion. Mains at $28 (a burger or a chicken sandwhich) - $58, I expect a thoughtful experience that starts with the ambiance and finishes with excellent service and food that actually tastes like it was made for adults and not a picky 6 year old.

It was chilled nicely and overall, it did brighten up my mood for the day. I think I need to go to 30% sweet and it will be perfect for me. Overall, I can see myself coming back here again.
