The atmosphere is super inviting and the dining room is buzzing with patrons. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner which added a special spark to our visit. To start off, we got the palak chaat, a novel concept to my Pakistani self. With a base of crispy palak pakora topped w sweet yogurt and all the spicy sauces and toppings, this chaat was absolutely phenomenal and delivered on taste, texture and excitement. We were recommended the mixed grill to keep things going. Like it's name this appetizer was a mixed bag. I think the chicken kababs (achari, tandoori, malai chicken) were all made incredibly well. The pieces were a little big and could have been cut up a bit better but the flavor, marination and preparation on these chicken kababs were amazing. The lamb seekh kabab and boti were, however, disappointing. You could smell the lamb which is never good. The lamb kabab needed to be cut into thinner pieces, marinated in more spices. The seekh kabab were on the dry side and needed a lot more fat content to keep their moisture intact. As a Pakistani I admit I have very high expectations with lamb anything just because lamb is the crown jewel of our cuisine, and these kababs fell flat by that standard. The owner raved about the daal and we ordered it as our entree. We also ordered the shahi murgh quorma. The daal was thick, tasty and delivered on our expectations but I wouldn't say it was out of this world or anything. The shahi quorma was very muted in flavors and mild but I still enjoyed it. My concept of quorma is something much more decadent but I wasn't upset. Zeera rice had an abundance of zeera in it which was honestly kind of different and nice. The rosemary naan was a spectacle and absolutely huge, with crisp edges and soft pillowy-ness. Definitely their naan felt like a show-stopper. We were given dessert which was ghulab jamun and kheer. The kheer was thick and not too sweet, you could tell it was made with love and malai heavy milk which is just how it's supposed to be. I loooved it so much. The ghulab jamun were absolutely delicious and a nice size as well. Even though there are a few improvements that can be made here, overall this was an absolutely fantastic meal and I cannot wait to return to try more things off of their expansive menu!! I was presented a set list with a plethora of hors d'oeuvres, Buffet and Dinner compilations, and a separate drink menu, should an open bar be desired. Though many fantastic options were listed for consideration, Chef Mellanee informed I could inquire about offerings not listed, also. On the day of the tasting, my then-fiance and I, had car trouble. After speaking with Chef Mellanee, she graciously offered to extend the appointment to a reasonable time. By a miracle of God, we made it to the tasting, with 20-mins to spare. Upon entering Chef Mellanee's presence, we were immediately put at ease. The highly stressful event we'd been through, began to melt off us. Music played, in the background that set a loving mood. My beloved and I, sat at a table set for us to dine like royalty. Each course was impeccable, and Chef Mellanee checked to ensure our thoughts about each dish, were of genuine satisfaction. After our meal, and offering our final decisions, Chef Mellanee brought out a card game for us to play! It was a sweet game, made to enhance connection between a couple. We loved it! On the day of the wedding, upon entering the venue, I was told by my wedding planner to check a bag that had been left in my changing room. There, I found a white box, embossed with The Fork Goes on the Left emblem. Inside sat a few wonderful items, and a thoughtful, sweet note, that I keep in mind each day. From the time of service to the end of the night, everyone raved about the food, and service, rendered by Chef Mellanee, and her A+ Team. The food was well seasoned, and delightfully satisfying, speaking to our guests' Caribbean background, and elevated tastes. Chef Mellanee's team were the epitome of polished professionalism, courtesy, and joy! What also caught my eye, was how well Chef Mellanee's Team had her back. Before my husband, and I, were to take a picture with Chef Mellanee, the same lady on her Team, stopped to fix Chef's collar, to ensure she looked her best - I LOVED that!
