Yesterday we come at this Destination Kia, Kia department of dealership after driving 1and 1/2 hour, hour before closing. We started looking cars outside, the sale representives where standing out talking, smoking and not even looked at us. They didn't want be bothered with come to us, welcomed us and offer their help, so they just ignored us for hour and then they get ready to go home and closed store and nobody never acknowledged our present there. My guess they figured out it's too late to closed the sale and make money so why bother even spoke with us. I took my car in for service today. It was for a recall. My car needed a software update. When I picked up my car it wouldn't lock or unlock so I assumed the batteries died in my remote. I went home and tested it using a brand new set of spare keys. That didn't work. I called the dealership. I spoke with a woman and explained what happened. I then spoke with a man in service who said his name was Carlos. He asked me how far I lived from the dealership. I said I lived 3 minutes away. He told me to go back to the dealership and he was going to inform him that I was on my way. When I got to the dealership the representatives looked at me as if I had two heads and claimed no one named Carlos worked in service. They asked me what number I called thinking I may have called Nissan nextdoor. I dialed the number in front of them and put the phone on speaker so they could hear it for themselves. They told me to come back tomorrow. What am I supposed to do NOW, leave my car unlocked in Albany overnight?! Disgusted doesn't even begin to describe how I'm feeling. read more

I had an awful experience with the extremely rude Heidi. She lied to my wife, saying that my credit history was too new. Problem is, I'm over 40 years old. I have a credit history. So, then, Heidi is a liar. The other problem is that my wife alone was put on the loan. While I was there in her office while my wife signed paperwork, I asked Heidi questions and she ignored me, treating me as if I were invisible. Here's the problem Heidi: you treated me like crap. I never forget things like that. My wife included my monthly income under misc. income. Without my income, she wouldn't have gotten the loan. Yet, Heidi treated me like Kunte Kite at a Merle Haggard concert. Another thing Heidi forgot is that all I have to do is withhold my income and not transfer the funds to the joint account. After a few months, bye, bye car. Heidi forgot that. And yet, she was extremely rude by ignoring me. Based on my experience there, I will be withholding my funds and the car will be taken away, based solely on how Heidi treated me. How do you like THEM apples, Heidi? If you want to be treated like crap, be lied to and be forcibly denied being on the loan, then go to Destination Kia. One more thing Heidi: expect the car to be towed back by a repo man. I brought my Niro in because the door handles started to randomly snap off. They fixed that as it was a recall. Drove away and my engine light pops on. Hmm, that's odd. Called them and they said, "well you're due for an inspection so you better bring it back in because that engine light needs to be off before it will pass inspection." So I bring it in a week or so later and I'm just over the 60,000 mile mark, so of course it's not covered. I left without getting the work done. The code was U029F. They told me the wires were corroded but the paper quote says "break in the wire". I left without getting it repaired because of the quote and that I didn't trust what they were telling me. I have called the service manager and left messages with no response. I just don't trust these people. read more

You sign a contract for negotiated price, wait for the car to come in, then they tell you it's $1500 more than the agreement. Basically told us to take it or leave it because they could sell the car for a lot more money now then when we ordered it in February. So much for honesty and integrity !!! read more

A nice car dealership. The lobby is open and the service people are easy to deal with. Water, coffee, and wifi. Just remember to read your service paperwork in detail before signing. My Experience at Destination Kia I'm going to call it the Kia no one can drive, this all started on 3/9/19 we thought we were getting a great deal. 2019 Kia Sorento which I fell in love with the moment I drove it. They let us drive it home to Massachusetts on their dealer plate and we had to return on Monday to sign the paper work.(MASSACHUSETTS WILL NOT RECOGNIZE NY DEALER PLATES IF YOU GET STOPPED) Mistake number 1 found out that the % rate was 2.5% HIGHER than we thought(my fault I should have checked with the sales manager to get it in writing) We drove home on our transferred plates, we now have 7 days to get registered from the day you drive it off the lot. On day 4 I still have not gotten my registration(WHICH THEY WERE GOING TO DO FOR US) I was in Albany on a delivery and stopped in to see what the issue was, the blamed the bank saying paper work was tied up. We have over a 800 credit score so what could be a hold up? They must do business with a bank that still is delivering pony express. Was told when I was leaving that it was happening as we spoke,they gave me the # of the person who was doing the transfer. I called him and he told me to meet him at the registry in my town. I got there and no one was there I waited for 10 minutes and no one showed or called. The very next day I called out sales person and was told it would happen today before the end of the day, which was on Friday 3/15. SO IT DID NOT HAPPEN AGAIN AND NO ONE CALLED...Saturday 3/16 I called Destination and talked to the Sales manager who should have been involved by now but he wasn't. I talked to my insurance rep on Saturday morning and was advised not to drive the new car as of Sunday the 3/17, if I had an accident the company would not cover the car because its past the 7 day window. OK buying a new car is not my favorite thing to do. However, I dropped in on a Sunday at noontime and was pleasantly surprised by Destination Kia. I met with salesperson Kenny Lau. He was awesome. He took the time to listen to what I wanted and then found exactly what I was looking for. There was no pressure and no hurried sales pitch. Kenny took care of all the details from my trade-in to financing options to explaining all the features of my new ride. A very respectful sales person. On Oct. 7 we went to Destination Kia and were going to buy a new car from them and trade in a lease with 4 payments left. Being a Sunday we were told we would need to come back Monday at 9 am when they opened to sign the final paperwork because the banks were not open on Sunday. We gave them the keys to the old vehicle and they had us put the new one on our insurance so they could process the paperwork. We stayed in Albany for the night (we live an hour away). Upon arrival on Monday morning we were told the new car was stolen off their lot. They tried to push us into another car that was not the color that we wanted. The car was stolen from inside their service center while the service tech was in there. The thief took his time (approx. 5-8 minutes inside the car) and then drove off with the car. Destination was unwilling to look for another car for us and literally said "its this car or you can go elsewhere." Not willing to even look for another car for us. In the meantime we were told by the salesman "Mel" that it would be "no problem for us to get a police report." We had to call immediately and get the car off our insurance and we wanted a report to prove we never had possession of the car. We then had to go back home and then make another trip to Desination Kia because they did not have the second car ready for us. Told us it would be at least a hour or two. We had to work. We text Mel and he again said "no problem" for police report. Then when we texted again we told him we had changed our minds about the other car because it was not what we really wanted and they were not even willing to put a remote start in it for all the inconvience. They told us take it or leave and then he said he can't give us a police report. He was done and we could talk to his boss. His boss told us he did not have a report number and it was in another office. Barely could give us a phone number to police station. Finally we got a incident number. To put the icing on the cake Destination tried to cash our down payment check that they did not return to us. This all happened on Columbus Day (which is a bank holiday.) They knew we did not buy a car from them and we called and left messages twice, with no return call, for our check. Oct. 9 they processed the check. Fortunately I was smarter than them and had already put stop payment on it. We went down the road to Fuccillio Kia and bought the exact same kind of car as what was stolen from Destination. Fuccillio was beyond helpful and would recommend everyone looking for a new Kia go straight to Fuccillio Kia and do not their waste time with Destination. It is a very shady operation. read more

So I'm still sitting here an hour and a half after my APPOINTMENT for an inspection follow up (cracked side mirror). No one has given me any clue as to when they will be done. I saw some of the other posts regarding their service department but wow. All true apparently. Terrible service. UPDATE. not only did the mirror they ordered for me arrive cracked, they put my old one back on but had cracked it more than when I arrived. It went from a single crack across the very top corner to being spiderweb cracked so much I could not even see out of it. They have me coming back YET AGAIN and so far it's been over an hour. Looking for a new car recently, I had a very unpleasant experience with this dealership. I do not think Destination Kia is a woman-friendly dealership. Getting through to anyone on the telephone was almost impossible. I was put on hold with a phone ringing eternally (no voice mail), or transferred to someone whose voice mail recording answered. The receptionist/operator stated she could not leave her station to see who was available to actually take my call. I went out on a limb and purchased a vehicle (before even seeing it) through Damon at Destination Kia one state over in New York (I'm from MA.) I purchased a Telluride that I have been searching for, for over a month. Let me tell you, it was so worth the 6 hour drive! (We have a Kia dealership in my town, but they were unable to get me exactly what I wanted.) Damon was super helpful through the process of buying out of state! He kept in contact with me (just about hourly because I was so excited about my new SUV.) I drove up to go pick it up within about a day. He had everything ready for me. Paperwork was ready to go and a breeze to fill out. He answered every single question I had leading up to the sale, and even sent me pictures of my Telluride along the way. After doing paperwork, Damon sat down with me in my Telluride and went over EVERY single button it has to offer! He customized it to how I wanted the vehicle to drive. After leaving, I felt blown away with Damon's hospitality. But it didn't stop there. After I got home, he asked me how everything was going with my new vehicle and followed up with me several times to ensure I was satisfied. He even spent time on his Sunday night, reaching out to me on how to use a special feature I was previously curious about. I was SO happy with my experience with Damon. I hate car buying. Been through nearly every make of vehicle and had only one good experience...well, now two! I came in after receiving a flyer because it was time to turn in a lease on a different make vehicle. I was greeted by sales rep Andy Masino and right away he was friendly, helpful and never pushy. Never showed me something I wasn't interested in. Made sure I was happy with all aspects of the vehicle, right down to the color of the car and features. The financing was quick and painless and he gave me a price I was comfortable with. Never saw a stupid 4-square and they didn't screw me by beating me over the head with MSRP bs. Made me realize how badly I got screwed over with my last lease. I would definitely deal with Andy again. So friendly and helpful! I love my new SUV and would do it all over again!! OK, can only start with three stars as our experience is only two months old. First of all, we needed a new car and after years of sending kids to private school, could finally afford a newer car other than the normal $5K cars we've paid cash for over the years...being somewhat cheap and always looking for a good value, I did a fair amount of research and found that Kia offered the best value for off-lease cars in what we were looking for...we knew how much we wanted to spend, we had the terms and pre-approval through USAA (awesome company! Thanks Dad for your service!), so it was just a matter of shopping around... We really wanted a Honda CR-V, but given what we wanted to spend comfortably, that would have meant a pre-owed from a dealer that was 4 years old with 40 - 60K miles...We looked at several at several places, but never found anything we wanted to buy. Labor Day, we drove around just looking at dealers...we pulled into the Big "F" Kia franchise which struck us as a meat market, music blasting, we lasted five minutes, the obnoxious commercials alone have turned us off to that string of dealerships, so we got back in the car and headed down Central Ave. One of my coworkers had recommended Destination Kia, so we headed there just to poke around. We were met by a hostess whose job is to connect us to a sales guy - we got Anthony. We really didn't need to buy a car that day, we were just poking around. He was very good, no pressure, just walking around with us, we came across a loaded Sportage with 14.5K miles, 2013, off-lease, very clean, took a little drive, again, not really intending to commit, we liked the car, after we got back, we went through the car thoroughly, very clean. As we talked, Anthony threw out the obligatory, "What do I have to do to get you to sign the papers?", I laughed, I knew what it was worth being off lease, so I threw out my number, we did haggle a little, but I ended up within $750 of my number. When I called USAA to go through the numbers, they punched in the VIN and said their book value for the car was $2K over what I paid...granted, it's off-lease, so they've already made money on the car, but I'm in business, they need to make money, I get it, it's a matter that we walked away feeling pretty good, felt like we were treated very well, got a car we liked for a good price. So far, we love the Sportage. kbb.com and edmunds give it good reviews - it's not a CR-V, but for the price, we got a fully loaded low mileage car. It handles great, just very nice, some things like the back-up camera are a little cheesy, but the vehicle as a whole just feels very solid. Since then, Anthony has reached out several times to touch base with us, make sure everything is OK, car dealers are car dealers, but we were really comfortable with Destination mostly due to the fact we got Anthony as our sales guy and they made things very easy...knowing what we wanted to spend and having the financing before we walked in probably made it easier... Another review for another day - USAA rocks. Yes, it's not open for everyone, but Anthony said it was the easiest transaction he's ever seen - they basically e-mailed their finance group a check and the money was in their account within 18 hours. I'd recommend Destination Kia and Anthony specifically as he was very relaxed and genuine. read more

If I could give this review no stars I would, I bought my 22 Telluride from destination Kia in March And in June I heard a noise in the rear. So I crawled under the vehicle to find out rear sway bar link was never connected from the factory. When I called destination I called 4 days in a row leaving messages for someone to call me back and that never happened, And on the 5th day someone answered and told me this would not be covered under warranty even though it was no negligence and it was just not done from the factory. I have been in the service industry and been a mechanic for 10 plus years and this by far is the worst experience I have ever had. I had pictures and videos to prove and all I wanted them to do is to give me the nylon nut to re attach it myself, They would not even accept That the car was like that from the factory. If you could stay far away from this place I would. You pay $60000 for a vehicle for nobody to take care of you. read more

I left them a pretty good review a year ago, but then I had to comeback this year 3 times to fix the water in the tail light issue and another defect. Well, after it rained, the water still got there. Apparently, the tech did not tighten the bolts. Now I have to waste another half day for them to blow the tail light and tighten it. Another time I scheduled an appointment for a pretty serious safety recall, dropped off the car and when I picked it up after work, I was told they ran out of parts and have to reschedule. How does that happen when you book an appointment for this specific reason? Oh, and the sales people...they think we still live in the 80's. My 2013 Kia Optima Hybrid, purchased at Destination Kia, started giving us an issue about a year ago by not starting when the ignition was pressed. The lights came on, radio, a/c, heater, etc, but the car wouldn't start. This problem was intermittent. Most of the time it would start, and then once in a while it wouldn't, and seemed completely at random. We brought it to a mechanic friend who couldn't identify the issue, and suggested that the dealer might have more luck. We brought it back to Destination Kia who ran diagnostics and couldn't find anything wrong. They suggested that we video tape the next time it happened to show them. It happened again when my daughter was in Binghamton, and it had to be towed to Kia down there. When the car got there, it started just fine, so we made an appointment again with Destination and brought it in. Now is when things went haywire. We brought in the car on December 21 for a 7:30am appt on the 22nd. We were told we'd hear something by noon the next day. We heard nothing, and ended up texting Lucas, our service consultant at 6:06pm, "What is the status of the car?" At 7:19am on the 23rd, Luke wrote back, "I WILL HAVE A DIAGNOSIS WITHIN THE NEXT FEW HOURS WE ONLY HAVE 2 TECHS THAT CAN WORK ON HYBRID CARS. BUT I MADE SURE TO GET IT IN THE SHOP LAST NIGHT TO GET WORKED ON IMMEDITIETLY [sic]" At 10:39, I wrote back, "Do you have an update?". After several messages on voicemail because we were leaving town the following day without any unsolicited correspondence (and a day and a half beyond our appointment), "Yes the vehicle just got done i had a kia master hybrid tech check over all the systems for fault codes and there are not at this time","he checked over battery as well and he couldnt get the vehicle to duplicate the concern". "There is only a diagnosis charge of $135" When we picked it up, he told us we should videotape the problem next time so they can see what's happening. I reminded him that we had, and he said, "Oh yeah, I told the master tech that." Anyway, fast-forward to a couple of weeks ago, I figured out that what was likely happening was that the gear shift was not properly registering as being in park. If you jiggle the gear shift, it starts right up when we have the problem. We made an appointment with Destination Kia, told them the problem and asked them to fix it. We made the appointment for 10:00am on January 19, dropped off the car on the 18th and even gave them the Kia Genuine Part (long story). Anyway, we got Luke again who remembered us (after looking at the history), he said that either my wife or I would hear back in the morning. Well, my wife thought I must have heard and vice versa, so nobody tried to contact us. At 5:30 pm, I wrote, "Luke. We never got a call, text, email or the like regarding our cost of the fix on our car which was scheduled for service this morning. We'd like to know what the costs will be and when we can get our car back. As a reminder, we left the part with you. Thank you." Not long after, he wrote back "HEY ITS LUCAS FROM KIA I WILL HAVE AN ANSWER FOR YOU ON THE COST BY TOMORROW". At 7:50 the next morning I wrote "Please let me know was soon as you can, we'd like to get the car back as soon as possible" At 9:30, Luke got back with the estimate, and I asked about the original two diagnostic charges, and whether we could get a credit for them, since they would have been part of the price had they discovered our problem (and not left it to us). Also, there had been a suggestion of that the last time we had dropped it off. Luke responded, "I'd have to look into that I'm not at my desk today" And when I asked when we might find out, he said first thing tomorrow. I then asked if there was someone else I might talk to. He said that I could just call Kia service. At 9:42, I was put in the voicemail box of Ken, the assistant service manager who never returned by call. At 11:43, I called and asked to speak to someone to find out about pricing and my car. I explained that Luke is out and Ken never called me back, so they disappeared for a bit and then told me that Tom, the manager, would call me back shortly (he didn't). My wife then called and talked to Mike, a poor bystander who worked there. He said that he was told they "didn't want to replace the switch because they didn't think it would fix the car, so they were waiting for a technician to look at it and do a diagnostic (AGAIN). Also, they were planning on doing an oil change, which we didn't ask for because we'd just had it done on the 17th. All we asked was to replace the switch, and they wouldn't even though they've never been able to diagnose a problem and this particular issue wouldn't register a fault code. Luke even indicated, when we brought it in that he originally thought it might be the inhibitor switch. Long story short, I have had a miserable experience with Luke and Destination Kia, not to mention Ken and Tom. We ended up picking up the car, unfixed. read more

very poor experience trying to purchase a new 2020 Telluride SX from this dealership, I prefer to do business with a dealership via email and there is a reason for that which will come later. I was trying to get the numbers on the above mentioned vehicle, when loaded it is under $52,000 and not bringing any kind of trade in. I Almost fell over when I first received the numbers, $788.00 a month (approx.) for a 36 month lease with 10000 miles a year. Those numbers work out to be full MSRP!!! when I questioned the sales person for the actual cost of the vehicle to me they ignored it and didn't deny that they were selling at MSRP!!! and all in the meantime creating a false shortage on the 2020 Telluride St, I brought this to the attention of the manufacturer a number of times but never received a response. This dealership is not transparent and you get the feeling of being taken advantage of. For a dealership that comes off as a wholesome, friendly, and family oriented is far from what I experienced. They might be the "leading dealer in volume sales" puppies and babies and blah, blah blah. Ask them where their customer satisfaction numbers are?? they are embarrassed to say or advertise them. read more

Definitely the worst service department of any dealer I have bought a car from. You drop your car off and someone writes your information up. Whoever writes you up is the ONLY ONE you can speak to should you have a question while your car is there. If this person is unavailable, with someone else, one the phone or away from their desk your out of luck and you need to call back. No other service personnel will help you! Dropped our car off at 9:00 for what we were told would be a 2 1/2 hour service job. Advised service we will be back at noon to pick up the vehicle. Rather then just show up we called service. Got the typical run around with having to speak to your initial intake person. On hold forever. Finally spoke to someone and was told vehicle isn't done so come at 1:30. Now a 4 1/2 job. Ran errands and got to the dealer at 2:30. OUR CAR STILL IS NOT DONE!!!! We need to wait possibly an hour. Over a 5 1/2 hour job. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!Avoid this service department if at all possible. 4:00 and he is still waiting for our car. Really??? Had a great experience buying a vehicle from this dealership. Our sales guy, Josh, was extremely friendly and not pushy at all. He went over all of my possible options for trading in, buying or leasing and was very patient when I didn't want to make a hasty decision. My credit score is not excellent but he was able to get me approved for a fairly low interest rate and I couldn't be more grateful. Believe me, I've been completely scammed by a scumbag dealership and this is definitely not one of them. I made an appointment for diagnostics after work, and upon arriving, I was told it was too late and I would have to come BACK in for another appointment. On Sat May 15, we leased a Kia Sedona. Our salesperson was Matt Marcil. We informed Matt that we were just looking and wanted to check out other car dealers since we were not sure what type of vehicle we wanted.. After getting a price that was to high, we were introduced to Justin who wanted to know what he could do to get us to lease the vehicle that day. Explained the same thing to Justin and said the price was to high. Several times he came back with a lower price and before you know it we agreed to lease the Sedona.(Pressure!!!) We were turning in a leased Ford Transit Connect that had damages. The repairs to the Ford were part of the deal but misunderstood that we still had to put a claim into our insurance company before Destination Kia could repair the vehicle before giving it back to Ford. Destination Kia said they would pay us back for the $500 deductible. Today 5/19/2017 went to the dealership to clear up the issue with the insurance company, put the claim in while I was at the dealership (hope I we get the $500), wanted to talk with Matt about a hitch we ask Monday to have installed and leave off the 2nd set of keys to the Ford. Matt wasn't in so have no information about the hitch. As I was leaving the dealership Marshall was at the Service Desk inside the showroom. I asked it I could get me vehicle wash and he said yes drive are the corner. I did and a few minutes he came out and said there were several cars being washed and it would take about 1/2 hr. I said I'd go do some errands and come back. Came back asked if I had an appointment for service. I said no wanted to get my vehicle washed he looked at me and then said hold on. Came back he said we only wash vehicles if you had service. Informed him that I told Marshall I would be back in 1/2 hr. Sorry we only was vehicles if they had service and there are several vehicles in line to be washed. This is how I spent my day driving from Catskill NY and received the worse Customer Service ever. I wish I had read the reviews before even visiting Destination Kia. I thought it would be better than Fuccillo "MR HUGE" Based on the reviews it doesn't seem like the ownership (Jim) cares about there customer or how their kids act during their commercials. I purchased a 2015 V6 AWD Kia Sorennto with the sole intended purpose to tow a travel trailer. I was guarantee this vehicle is capable of towing between 5-6,000 lbs NEW YORK STATE requires electric brakes are required on any travel trailer . I called the service depth to inquire if this brake system had to be performed by them as to not void my warranty. The service depth informed me they already have an issue with a customer whose seeking warranty service n Kia has declined the warranty because of the electronic brake system being Installed they feel the customer was towing more than the suggested weight of 5000 lbs because Kia feels no need to have electronic brakes on a travel trailer rated less than 5000 lbs I prefer this just as a added safety measure ! So heads up folks in purchasing from them all I can say is IF I REQUIRE MY WARRANTY SERVICE AND AM DECLINED THERE'S GONNA BE ONE HE'LL OF A LEGAL BATTLE COMING THIER WAY ! Be aware Kia warranty considers this a ruff terrain an a harsh climate therefore if you don't do an spend the roughly $500 every other oil change for upkeep they can void the warranty sorry but I don't feel my transmission fluids need to be changed at less than 30,000 miles such a scam ! read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible..... I would never ever recommend this dealership to anyone. Careless mistakes on their behalf, have cost me my great credit score. They forgot to send complete paper work to my previous company I was leasing with long story short ended up having my entire balance reported. My credit score dropped over 100 points! Around the same time I am trying to buy my first home! I response. I was told he was unable to meet with me when I requested his presence a day I came into speak with someone from the dealership who was helping me. THE ONLY REASON was told by Shaun Collins who isn't even the general manager there was nothing they could do, and I needed to be contacting my old company bothering them! I was so disappointed! I was only apologized to and pretty much told to bad. They all went to sleep at night while my credit was in the drain!! DO NOT GO HERE! This was the first time I did business with destination Kia and it will be the last time!! We agreed on fixed down payment and monthly payment for my Kia Sportage. But when I got my 1st bill they had increased the monthly payment and I had no idea that they made me sign a contract that had different amount mentioned. I made sure to ask the salesman Will Richard, that everything was to what we had agreed on. He said "yes" later he had no idea what had happened. It has been a month and I still have not heard from anyone to explain the discrepancy in the contract. Not only I have this problem but when I was getting the car, it was missing a letter from AWD on the side. It was supposed to take no more than a week or two to take care of that problem. Now it is a month later and I have not heard from them. I made a big mistake and I feel really sorry for not going back to Fuccilo Kia. Never had a problem with them!! read more

Don't waste your time or hard earned money at this establishment. They are a bunch of snakes! I have been to many, many car dealerships and this is one that we will never be going back to. Sales people are arrogant jerks who will treat you like you don't know anything... I'm pretty sure I am very well versed in how the whole process goes.
