They did an outstanding job! There was construction on Randell Rd that destroyed my car, and Lamont detailing did an outstanding job trying to help get all of the tack off. Unfortunately, the company State Contracting ruined my car and is lied about having safety provisions in place so my claim was denied by insurance (which is insurance fraud), but that is a separate issue. Lamont detailing came out immediately as spent hours working their hardest to get the tack off of my vehicle. The tack damaged my paint, but the fact that they got off as much as they did was appreciated. They are a local company, and can come to your location. They charge a reasonable fee, especially for the extreme damage that was done to my car, and they were very kind and professional. read more

I have used Lamont and his team on numerous occasions for cars that I wanted to keep clean on regular basis or get ready to sell and trade in. Even sometimes when I didn't give them too much notice, Lamont always fits me in his schedule. From our 4 door sedans or Suvs they have always done an amazing job and stayed until it was done sometimes taking up to 4 hours. I paid for a car detail and only received a regular carwash at best. I asked for the detailing to focus on the interior, specifically asking for a product to protect the interior dashboard, trim, etc. There were details that were missed throughout. For example, Lamont did not bother removing a simple windshield phone holder which left behind obvious rings on the windshield. The car was still wet from the initial car wash and "wax" from in between and under all doors, trunk, and handles trim. The interior of the back windshield and under panel still had lint and smudges. Everything seemed to get a once over but definitely not detailed. It seems like no interior products were used of any kind besides a damp towel. (smelled like it) When I asked I was told (on the phone) that due to allergic concerns he used unscented products. I was never asked if I had any allergies to such products I specifically requested. This seems to be a trend within other reviews. Lamont and his partner rushed through the entire "detailing" in less than 45 minutes. He was gone before I could finish taking a look at the car and make any requests. I have had my car detailed before and I don't recall the process ever taking less than two hours even between two people. I texted my concerns which were quickly followed up by a phone call. The call escalated as I tried to explain the details missed but was met with hostility and expletives. Lamont was easy to schedule with and was very responsive to my request. He and his partner were seemed responsive to my request but the services paid were not rendered. IMO. I Would not recommend. read more

I will say that my car looks a lot nicer than it initially did but it was still very dirty and dusty. Lamont was nice and easy enough to schedule with. Planning around the weather was no issue, and he kept me updated on when the rain would clear and he'd be able to come out. The issue I had is just that, when I pay the price for a detail, I'd expect the details to literally be taken care of. When I initially texted with Lamont, he said it would take 2 guys 2.5 hours. But, when they came, it was 1 guy who spent 2 hours. If you're doing the math, yes, that is less than half of what I was originally told. In that short amount of time, it was very similar to the cleaning I get when I take it to The Car Wash Lodge in Cary. There, 5-6 people descend on the car for about 25 minutes. Do the math, and that is about 2 hours of work, but the cost is about 20% of what we paid for the detail. I personally wasn't looking that closely, as it was my wife's van and I was handling it for her. But when she looked, she found a ton of things that just weren't done - crumbs in crevices, bugs on the outside, certain areas not touched. I message Lamont and sent him pics, and he understood and was able to send the guy back that day. The guy then spent another hour on the car on the issues identified. I guess my issue is... we shouldn't have to supervise. I feel like the car should be cleaned above and beyond how I'd even be able to check. That is detailing to me. I suspect that Lamont is really busy, and that is great for his business. He has really good reviews here on Yelp, and I'm sure they are well deserved. He was nice, as was the guy who came and cleaned the car. I think my experience was an anomaly. But, I think that, at least when my van was done, he was just stretched too thin. He told me his guys had a lot of vans to do the day they were at my place. Maybe that is why only 1 guy came instead of 2, and why he only initially spent 2 hours on the car. I paid to get 2 cars detailed and these guys just plain washed the cars. I could have just gone to Car Lodge and saved my $$. He said he would swing by and finish the job but as others with bad experience, Lamont stopped responding to my text. Customer service is great until you pay them. Would not recommend. Front bumper had dead bugs, leather wasn't conditioned, his team forgot to hand wax the car, trunk wasn't vacuumed, door interiors were dirty, seats weren't cleaned, ... I could go on. We had what you would call a "child" emergency in my car. I don't know about anybody else, but it wasn't anything I could personally deal with. So... naturally I went to Yelp and found just who I was looking for! I contacted LaMont at around 830am - he called me within a few minutes. I told him the problem. I am totally committed to supporting small businesses whenever possible, but the problem with Lamont is that he doesn't act like a business should. We had an appointment for 10:00 on a Friday. The Thursday before, he changed it to 9-9:30 (that's okay), but then called later and rescheduled until 2:00 because it was going to be too cold (if your business depends on the temperature, you should state that up front, not make a last-minute change). On Friday, he called at 2:17 to say he was running late (ya think?) and wouldn't be there until 3:30 at the earliest. We rescheduled to Saturday morning at 10. I warned him that it was getting difficult to accommodate his changes (guess he forgot I was the customer) and that the 10:00 appointment better happen or we would be done. Well, I called him at 10:10 to say we were done. His guy showed up at 10:27. Lamont doesn't listen to his voice mail, which can make communication difficult. Rather than calling people back when he sees someone has called, he should check voice mail--or turn off voice mail entirely. When he and I first spoke to schedule a time, he was distracted by his children's report cards. I'm truly happy that he is an involved father, but he shouldn't try to have a business conversation unless he is able to focus on that conversation. So ... those are the reasons for the one-star review. I'd like to do business with Lamont, but he needs to have a business for me to do that. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I have a 2008 RAV4. While I am very conscientious about getting the oil changed and replacing parts, I am a slacker about washing the car.
