Stay away from this person, Hannah, the owner/hair dresser. What an awful business person. I had a 2pm appt for my daughter's hair cut yesterday, who was visiting out of town. I knew of Hannah for more than 20 yrs since my sister was her regular till up to 4, 5 yrs ago. I also am very good friends with Hannah's cousin for more than 25 yrs. I knew she was not a very friendly, service-oriented person, but also knew that she's good at what she does so I wanted to treat my daughter. We arrived right at 2pm and see Hannah cutting another person's hair. The only other employee who was working at that time was shampooing another customer. So I thought we had to wait for our turn. Was disappointed that we were not the next customer, as we were right on time for our appointment, but was okay with it because that's to be expected at any business. Things get backed up and you don't start on time. Fine. Then around 2:05ish, Hannah finished up with the customer she was with. Hannah then instructed her employee to blow dry her customer's hair, and then shampoo my daughter afterwards. Then she said out loud that the one who just finished shampooing was her 2:30 customer who came too early and that my daughter was her 2 pm customer. Wait a minute. We couldn't start shampooing because the employee had to dry her previous customer and that Hannah starts her service with her 2:30 one who came at least 40 min early to her appt? Then what is the point of making appointments for and being on time for those appointments? That's what walk-in places do. I got pissed. So I told my daughter to take off the gown and told her we are leaving. On my way out, I asked Hannah, "how can you take your 2:30 person instead of taking care of us first?" She goes "your daughter didn't get shampooed yet". Right. Because her only one employee had to dry her previous customer. My point is this: If she had her 2:30 one arrive super early, she should have called me to come at 2:30. Or she should have dried her previous customer herself and let her only one employee shampoo my daughter to get ready. What is it? She can't shampoo anyone or dry anyone's hair because she is the hairdresser? I felt flat out ignored. She should not have said out loud that she was gonna take the 2:30 person's appointment ahead of us. On my way out, I told Hannah she should not run her business like this. I did not curse at her (although I curse a lot usually). She then told me to watch what I say. REALLY? All she had to say was I'm sorry. I bet she is not even sorry. For less than 15 min, we paid $7 for the parking fee. Then here's what really pissed me off. I called my friend and told her what happened. Again, instead of saying I'm sorry for what you had to go through, she said it happened because I don't understand her cousin's system. What kind of system? A system that ignores appointments and takes whoever gets there first? I immediately hung up and blocked my friend's number of 25+ years. I am so done. Was I wrong to do what I did? You decide. PS: We immediately went to a different hair dresser, where I am a regular, and we were able to be serviced immediately, in the exact style my daughter wanted, all for less than half of what Hannah was going to charge us. Save your money here and go to Hair World instead. Free parking, great service, and my daughter got the exact hairstyle she was looking for. We couldn't be happier! read more

They didn't listen to the customer carefully and gave the same layered cut based solely on hair length, rather than customizing it for each individual's hairstyle--like a factory-style service. I am sharing what happen to me at this horrible hair salon with devil owner 2pm 6/10/2024 . My favorite hair shop was busy today, so try to go this shop. Today was second visit. They told me unless 3month later will be better!! When we go to the hair shop, sometimes unhappy with style or customer service. But first time get those horrible things at hair salon in my past 50years. Beware when she got mad or bad mood with you, she will revenge to your hair!! Even 1 star is wasteful!! The owner cuts everyone's hair. I came back because I was pleased with my first visit. I told her it's been 7 weeks since she cut my hair and I wanted to retain same style. She began cutting my hair and within a few minutes chopped off my hair so short. In disbelief I asked her why she did what she did to my hair. She got upset, began sneering, spewing insulting words in anger, "How would I remember what I did to your hair 7 weeks ago? Your hair looks shorter cause you are balding." (대머리 된 머리를 어쩌라고) She continued being abusive verbally and with her body language. There were other customers present and I was so embarrassed and upset I quickly paid and left the place. I would never return to this place. It's true that I don't have thick hair but I am not balding. What a way to treat your customer and still charge $85. read more

I am now a regular customer of this place! Hannah is so great at cutting my hair, and also taking into consideration how it will grow out. Usually with short pixie hair you have to get it cut every 6 weeks or so, but because Hannah is so good at her job, I can go for 8-9 weeks without cutting it again. It doesn't turn into this awkward haircut, which is amazing. I knew this place was great with haircuts, but I was still hesistant about hair colouring. One of the assistants here constantly dyes her hair (and it looks amazing each time) but I was still not sure. I went to another salon (that I just reviewed here on Yelp) but they were not getting me the colour that I wanted. Hannah told me she would cut and colour my hair for less than what they were charging, so I finally decided to give it a try. While it is still not the exact shade that I wanted, this is the closest I think I will ever get and I am really happy with the end result. Guess I will be coming here from now on for cuts AND colour :D Hannah is pretty no-nonsense--you come into the salon, put your stuff into a cubby hole, put on a gown in the changing room, and sit wherever she tells you to sit. She has two assistants, who are both great but I unfortunately don't know the names of either one of them. They both seem to share duties of washing, drying, and colouring hair. The one who constantly changes her hair colour is an expert on the subject and she made me feel at ease at getting my hair bleached and coloured here. Both of them seem to be very experienced and I am a fan of all three ladies who work here. The last time I came here I got a trim, bleach, and hair colour and the total came out to be $250 (not including tip). It is pricey but the end result was definitely worth it to me! read more

Worst business practice I've ever seen! My mom went in for a hair trim and she cut so much that it looked like a man's haircut. My mom politely mentioned to her I only wanted a trim why did you cut so much? She replied by saying don't ever come back. My mom was so shocked. Hands down the best hair cut I've received. My aunt, mom and husband (and now my kids will) go here when we are in LA. The best part of her cut is that Hannah makes it so easy for me to take care of my unruly thick curly hair. To those who find her rude, she's actually very nice once you get to know her. She's a real straight shooter, kinda bitter sweet like the old Korean way. ;) Most other hair stylists told me I need to either straighten or perm my hair to calm it down. First time I came here was in junior high because my mother wanted to get her haircut. After that one experience, I never wanted to come again. The lady was scary and told me that my haircut didn't match my face and made me look unattractive. Traumatic, especially for a girl who was already going through enough self-esteem issues as it were. With no salon I trust, I somehow end up making an appointment at this salon whose hairdresser had made me self-conscious of every haircutting experience I ever had since junior high. My mother reassured me that she's not that bad once you get used to her. yeahhhh.... I go. First thing she asks me "who cut your hair?" me: "errr....some person at X salon". her: "that person should never touch scissors again" Not much has changed with her. Maybe I got tougher or less sensitive, but she's just the way she is. I have to admit though, she is good at cutting hair. You can tell by the way she kind of just starts without much concern about your opinion. hahaha. I always find it best to leave her to her artistry. It comes out well because she knows what looks good for your face. I just find it funny that she doesn't let anyone else in the salon cut hair, probably because the only person she trusts to cut hair is herself. Always be sure to make an appointment because she hardly ever takes walk-ins and seeing that she's the only one who actually cuts hair you'll be waiting a long time. 4.5 stars! Details is NOT like every other korean hair salon in k-town/LA. The hairstylist and her assistant is professional and is there to focus on the task at hand which is You're Hair instead of chitchatting and gossiping on who did what in k-town like the other salons do. The atmosphere of the salon is clean and modern. This hairstylist is truly great at her own art. With every cut she does, she puts her personal twist on it while keeping with the current trend and maintaining it to look as natural as possible. Either if its a short cut, trim, or that 2 inch cut, she'll cut it so that it never fails those three elements. One thing that really makes me always come back, is that she genuinely cuts for you're hair's health. If she sees that you're hair is damaged up to the max, she'll fix it. It is a bit pricey for k-town, but it's definitely worth the investment. Once it's cut, it'll look great even when it grows out. If you're a busy person and can't afford the time to get a cut every month, you should give this place a visit because she'll correct what's wrong with it and cut + style it for longevity. *Must make appointment. This place is unlike any hair salon I've been to before. Its her way or the high way. If you're late, the hair dresser won't keep the salon open past her set hours for you, but luckily she can cut and style hair in 30 minutes. Like someone said earlier, this place is ran like an assembly line. First, she asks you to come over and let down your hair. Then she asks how much you would like to cut it (and you must be CERTAIN) because she will cut your hair right in front of you. I told her I wanted to shoulder length and she cut my hair right then and there. I was in shock because I did not know it would be so fast, but then again you have to be sure because she has no patience. Then you get your hair washed and she will cut it in layers or whatever style for you. What I like here that I've never seen before is that she will brush your hair back and then take an electric razor and then make sure that your hair is cut STRAIGHT. She will use the razor to trim your hair so each strand is the same length. I really appreciate that attention to detail. Then she will cut your hair and you will be out of there in 30 minutes. I asked if she does any deep conditioning treatments, she said no. Conditioning starts at home and if you did it at her salon, it would only look good for a couple of times and then lose its effectiveness. I really liked her honesty, as a lot of salons will try to push services onto their customers. A cut here costs $60 and she does not take tip. She also sells jeans, but she seemed so busy with haircutting, I did not want to bother her with asking about the clothes. I highly recommend this place if you want a good hair cut and no frills type of place. She may not seem warm, but that is because she's focused on just cutting your hair and nothing else. read more

The older lady knows what she is doing, and she may not act all fake and super kind, its just her personality.she gives it to,u real what she thinks looks good on you and will work for you. Detail is pretty amazing. There is only one hairstylist but it's run like a assembly line so it's efficient. Personally, the assistant scares me a bit, but she's friendly when you talk to her. The hairstylist knows what she is doing and asks all these questions to make sure you get what you want. The only problem is that she tends to cut bangs a bit shorter than you ask, but it actually works out b/c it looks good when it grows out. She takes that into her cutting as well. But if you don't want that, then specifically ask that she doesn't cut it too short. You can park in the garage behind the mall and she'll validate for you. Last time I asked, she didn't take credit cards, but they accept personal checks and cash. It is a little pricey, but it is worth it. I've been a regular for quite some time now, and hasn't had a bad hair cut ever! read more

I came here two weeks ago and got a wonderful hair cut, I love it! It looks beautiful styled or not. I am super satisfied with Hannah and her assistants! They are very friendly and professional. You get your hair washed before she starts to work on your hair, then once she's done cutting your hair she will ask one of the assistants to blow dry it. After its dry Hannah works on it a little bit more, once she is done the assistant will then style your hair. I have curly/frizzy hair so when she curled my hair it was so beautiful I nearly shed a tear. Hannah will then take a last look to see if your perfect and then you'll be on your way. My wife comes to detail hair salon for a womens haircut whenever we visit Ktown. The owner is pretty quick and accurate to get her job done ontime. They will get you a validatoion for the parking, but you have to pay $1 regardless. They have nice staff and good service. I highly recommend details salon for professional hair services. Rats chewed up my hair!!!! My mom has a man hair cut!!!! This place is the worst hair salon I've been to, in my life! I asked to have my hair cut ONLY 3 inches...now I have hair that is near my shoulders. Before my nightmare, my hair was all the way down to the small of my back! I told her 3 inches! 3 INCHES! She chopped off at least 7 inches. That isn't the worst part, she decided to give me a mushroom hair cut...the Rachel cut from back in the day. I freaked, told her to fix the top heavy poof...what does she do...she layers my hair more...starting from my ears...all around. I look like a 50+ year old mom. My hair is top heavy. Now my bangs...oh, the bangs...I can't see through them. I have lots and lots hair, kinda curly too. She gave me such heavy bangs, I can't see through them when I look down. I didn't get one bit of sleep last night...tossing and turning...even my hair up in a pony tail looks horrible. It looks better up so I have no choice but to wear a pony tail until my hair is long enough to get fixed. Onto my mom....she told her, countless times...do not cut my hair short, like a boy. what does she do??? She chops my mom's hair off and shaves it to make it look like a cone. My mom was so upset, she didn't want to go into work the next day. To top it all off, she charges $55 for a ridiculous hair cut. She is sooooo outdated and doesn't cut hair with any technique. She pretty much grabs your hair, chops off a handful, and does that to your whole head. She is horrible, horrible, horrible. Plus, the yorkie in the shop is not friendly. I'm writing this review because the experience I had at Details really impressed me. The assistants made me feel very comfortable being that it was my first visit to the Salon. I didn't know what to expect and am normally very anxious when going to a new place. But my anxiety didn't last long when I was greeted by a smiling face with a great attitude. Relaxing shampoo/scalp massage and I couldn't be happier with the haircut. Very experienced hair stylist and worth every penny. Parking was not an issue as there is a park garage in the back. I was stopping by to see the clothing product and book an appointment but as soon as I asked the owner( the only hair dresser) she said it with such an attitude " I don't sell clothing product to none customer". I have never received a bad haircut and each one grows out perfectly. She is blunt and brutally honest - and accurate. If she tells you that the cut will not look good on you, she is right.
