They said that it would be about two hours for my reading glasses and they said that my glasses for driving would take about 10 to 14 days. I sat at a young woman's desk and explained to her, my glasses needed to be looked at, and perhaps needed a bit of glue to reinforce them from breaking loose. She immediately got up, took them to the back, repaired them, cleaned them and brought them back to me. I was charged five dollars and happy to pay it. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. I then started getting my eye exams elsewhere, so I cannot comment on any current optomertist at Walmart. However, I continue to use Walmart for frames and lenses. They will accept prescriptions from outside optomertists. They grind my lenses precisely to the prescription. They now offer "extra photogray" which is helpful if you are sensitive to light, especially here in sunny Yuma. Walmart also offers a good selection of frames (men's, women's, and childrens's) and at different price levels. Eyesight is precious, and I find Walmart to be reliable and convenient. The Vision Center employees will explain your options, and will patiently wait while you chose out your frames.

First, the nose piece fell off and I had to make a trip to town for repairs. I was told that the person who usually does the repair work was off that day but I could either return the next day or the salesperson, who was new, could probably do the repair. I agreed. The nosepiece fell off again three days later. Second trip to town; repair was made but I was cautioned that the nosepiece holder was very fragile so I should be "careful with the frame". This was disconcerting since the designer frames were costly. Next, the wire holding one of the lenses broke so, another trip to town. I was told that the manager was the only one who could make the repair. The manager was on vacation and would not be available for over a week. I expressed my disappointment in the non-service I had received from this business and that I would never use their services again. I received neither apologies nor options. I went to Corona Optique who made the repair, free of charge , while I waited. They also checked out and cleaned my backup glasses.

I had never been under anesthesia before, but everything went smoothly. My surgeon was Dr. Wallmann. He and all the staff were attentive, meticulous, and pleasant. Many thanks to everyone! After surgery, I felt mild pressure in the eye and had mild bloodshot which went away. I had occasional episodes of scratchiness, but it has mostly gone away. When they remove your eye patch, they will give the patch to you and it can be used again. You will need tape, which you can buy at the 99-cent store and at any pharmacy. You will need wrap-around sunglasses, which you can buy at Walgreen's for $14.95 to $19.95. You will need lubricant eyedrops, which you can buy in a twin-pack at Walmart for $10.83. If you need readers, you can get nice ones at Walmart for as little as $5.88 (women's). My personal advice (not intended as medical advice) -- follow the pre-op and post-op instructions, and take your meds as prescribed. Call them if you have any concerns after surgery. They are there to help. Get some rest. Thanks again to everyone at Southwestern for my new world of vision and color.
