Ive bought three pair of glasses from this place. first pair was great. second pair the lenses were terrible. the last pair I paid over 600 dollars. The nose piece on the frame keeps popping out of place. their answer was they could cut a piece of the rubber nose piece off that it wasnt needed. My answer was why was it designed with it if its not needed. so im stuck with a shitty pair of glasses for a year until my insurance will help pay for another. never ever going back to that place. they do not stand behind what they sell. shame on them read more

I have been using Corona Optique for several years for glaucoma check-ups, and now also for prescription eyeglasses. They provide a complete eye exam including refraction, pressure testing, and peripheral vision testing. They will detect any glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts. My ophthalmologist is Dr. Little. She is an excellent diagnostician and she individualizes patient care. She is open to questions and communicates well. My insurance covers my exam. But, if I happen to owe on my deductible at the time of my appointment, they expect a cash or check payment from me on the spot. Corona offers a large selection of designer frames which are too expensive for my budget. However, there is no objection if you take your prescription elsewhere. I can get an excellent exam at Corona and then get affordable eyeglasses at Walmart. It's a good combination. read more

Upscale decor & very inviting. Receptionists are always very pleasant & nice. I've been going there for years & have seen a variety of doctors there. All were very professional, personable & competent at their chosen profession. I even tried out the Dry Eye Clinic that they have. It was a little weird having my eyelashes cleaned by some machine, but they do pamper you & it did make my eyes feel better for a while. Unfortunately, it just wasn't covered by my insurance. I've only had one bad experience in almost 16 years. It was my first & last experience of having to speak with their billing person. She was rude & stubborn & argumentive. In the end she did what I asked her to do, which was to bill my secondary payor, that they're contracted with, before charging me. She said they would refund me if my secondary paid. Long story short, I told her that's not the way that it's supposed to work. I told her if my secondary did not pay for some reason, then send me a bill, and I will pay it then. We argued, she billed the secondary. I should not have had to argue with anyone to get my secondary insurance billed, nor should I have been requested to pay the balance before they billed them. Also, note worthy: they're glasses, frames & add ons are very expensive. Even with insurance, I usually spend $400 - 500 for one pair. It's much cheaper to just take the prescription to Samx Club & have it filled. It's usually a couple hundred less & they do take some insurances, like VSP. read more

The staff is great however the quality control is horrible. After spending over $1000 for 3 pairs of glasses and waiting for 3 weeks to receive them 1 pair broke immediately after opening them. The second pair was so bent up that they didn't sit right on my wifes face and needed to be bent and twisted to get them right. The 3rd pair somehow got the wrong prescription on the lower half (bifocal). I went back and and now have to wait another 3 weeks for them to correct the prescription, unacceptable. I will say that when I asked for a refund on the broken pair they refunded the amount on the spot. Long story short I will not return there and cannot recommend them to anyone. read more

I visited here along with my son this year. Dr. Corona is very nice but it took 3 visits and me bringing my old contacts and same with my teenage son to finally get the right contacts that were comfortable and the proper fit. These three visits were over the holidays and so it was about 2 months before I actually got the right prescription written. What really toasted me was when the front desk wrote out my prescription they dated it back to the very first day I came in so my prescription was already two months old when I got it. She said t was by law they had to but it was hand written and she could have put the later date. I have to have my prescription renewed every year so now this year I just have a 10 month prescription instead of a 12 month. So the Dr. Is nice and some of the front office is friendly but there are a couple of the girls that don't really have much friendliness. read more

I had a very disappointing experience. I waited a few months to see my usual, Dr. Malinger, but the quality of her medical service was different. I went in specifically for contacts and was not provided any instructions on next steps. She requested a follow-up, which I thought was nice, but I didn't know why. Turned out I was supposed to go into the follow-up with sample contacts on and I had no idea. I apologized, and advised at the follow-up that I was given no instructions. The disappointing factor was that everyone was irritated with me because I didn't have the samples on. They tried to cancel my visit, but I advised them that I wanted to discuss several items about the trials with Dr. Malinger including an itchy eye that developed due to the contacts. The assistant said that they would have to switch my appointment to a medical visit and that the doctor may not have time for me. This was really upsetting because I had an appointment and the itchy eye was due to the contacts. In addition, the assistant said she was going to order a different trial to go through this whole process again. I advised the assistant that I wanted the same contacts in 1 day because I liked them a lot. She immediately told me that they didn't come in 1 day. Disappointingly, I had to stand my ground, respectfully, and said that they do. I researched it in Accuvue directly before my follow-up. Irritated, she left to ask other staff members. She came back and advised that I could see the doctor for my itchy eye, and also said that they would order me the 1 day samples. At this point, I asked her what the next steps were because no one was instructing me on the process. She advised respectfully. So then I move forward to see Dr. Malinger and she came in to look at my itchy eye, but then she left and didn't give me the opportunity to ask any questions. She said she would come back, but she didn't and a different assistant came to check me out. I didn't receive instructions for my itchy eye and I didn't get a chance to talk to her about the contacts. I advised the assistant that I still wanted to speak to the doctor, and I turned around and saw the doctor - and asked her a question about the combination of blue film glasses with contacts for work, and she literally said "it is up to you." She looked so irritated with me. I just said thank you and left with the assistant, who made sure to collect my co-pay. I felt upset and I do not feel like I should have had to pay. There was literally no care to this visit. The assistant handed me a coupon. I asked if the item on the coupon is what I am supposed to buy for my itchy eye and she said "yeah, it's over the counter." I asked if she knew where I could go, and she said "anywhere with a pharmacy." This is by far, the worst eye care visit I have ever encountered. What was the point of waiting months? Le the rest of the lame doctors in Yuma, they are not open on Fridays, which makes it extremely inconvenient to make an appointment because I work ~1 hour away. They also refuse to make appointments on the same day for new patients and with members of the same family, so I would have to take more than 5 hours of sick leave to take care of my family. The one star is for the candid talk I had with the Glaucoma specialist. I had an appointment as a new patient today. I needed a doctor with glaucoma experience. She admitted to me their clinic doesn't handle patients with difficult conditions. I respect her for that. She saved me time and grief. She recommended other clinics but that wasn't much help because I've been to them all. Eye care is Yuma is very difficult for me with several eye conditions. My impression of what I witnessed at check in is this clinic is about selling you corrective lenses and not a total eye care experience. They take insurance but have several sheets for you to sign allowing them to bill you for all kinds of things they think/know your insurance won't pay. I sensed also a lot of confusion with office staff. Gave them the name of my eye doctor in Washington and when they contacted him for when my last visits in 2021 were they thought my doctors office said 2013. That was totally wrong. I called Washington clinic after leaving there and she said of course not she said she told them I had 2 appointments and September 2021 was the last one. I guess things happen for a reason. I am glad I won't be seen there. Thanks for reading and put your guard up if you go to Corona. read more

I just moved here from California and was looking for a eye doctor for me and my son. I found Corona Optiquue and decided to try it out. I purchased two pairs of glasses for my son and I and spent over $200 here. I came back to ask if I can get a sample of a pair of contacts that I desperately needed because I am coming out in a wedding. I spoke to the manager and she said in order for her to give me a pair she needed to sell 12 boxes. She was no help at all. After spending the money I spent here I thought she would at least help me out. As I can't afford two pairs of glasses and contacts too. They just lost two customers. I will not be returning here. I have a friend that also goes to corona optique and she was sold a pair of contacts, so why was I told no? Shame on you corona optique! My aging mother goes into your store because she needed to change her lense after getting corrective eye surgery. You convince her that instead of replacing her lense she needs the "Cadillac" of glasses. You convinced her that her brand new pair of glasses don't look right on her (even though she has had MANY compliments on them) and tell her that if she doesn't pay $600 for a pair of glasses she can buy the "ford" equivalent and "get by." You took advantage of a senior citizen who didn't realize that new lenses with now great vision at 20/25 shouldn't cost $600. Shame on you! read more

I was disappointed in the way they tell you the cost of your glasses. I expect to be given a detailed list of the cost of each item within my purchase of new glasses. ie: in my billing list tell me the 1) cost of frames 2) cost of lens 3) cost of extra tint or glare prevention, then i can do my own calculations as to out of pocket vs ins. If you notice when the person tells you the cost it's obfuscated. I really feel they purposefully obfuscation. My eyes mean a lot to me, so I get my exams done there, and I like their doctors. I have had the best care and exams there, but I have yet to get a pair of glasses made by them that I can see clearly with. I've had to take them back over and over, and still they're not right, but yet I can take their prescription and go anywhere else and the glasses are fine, no problem seeing clearly. I just had a new exam done there, and ordered glasses, and again the same thing, something is not right about them. I will now be taking the prescription somewhere else and pay for a different pair to be made that I can wear, because they won't give you back your money, they just keep remaking them, until I say enough, and give up. When I wear the ones they made, my eyes ache, get gritty, and I feel like I have to rub them all the time, but not with glasses made elsewhere. I have two other pairs made at Wal-mart and Eyemart Express, and they are both fine, so why are the ones from Corona Optique so much of a problem. Their glasses are higher priced than anywhere else, because they are supposed to be of the finest quality, but it's just not so. Nikon lenses from Wal-mart have been far superior to what they have created for me, and half the price. My mistake this time, I should have known better than to order from them again; last time I gave up and eventually donated the brand new pair back to them for the Lions club. read more

Seriously they make me feel like I am the "star" and tend to my needs even as a walk-in. Yes. I broke my glasses frames on Monday morning--without my glasses, I can't see to get to work, much less to work once I got there. I was able to superglue the bridge of the glasses frames back together with a pretty tenuous hold, but good enough to get to Corona Optique. The frames were 3 years old, so not under any warranty--and I was overdue for another eye appointment. They actually squeezed me in to an appointment 15 minutes later, and while I was in that appointment, they were able to take my glasses, which had, again fallen apart, and find a new frame that fit my lenses. The frame I chose for my new prescription was covered by my insurance, so I only had to pay for the new frames for my present lenses and the bifocal upgrade for my new glasses. SWEEEEEET! Last year they did better but this year it has been terrible for me. I went there to get eyeglasses back in July and it is already September 15 and they don't have them yet. Theysaid it is because of Covid and I understand the delay but it is taking super long. Last thing I knew the frames are coming from Italy ! If I knew they were going to take this long I could have picked different frames or have gone to a different place. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Brown... I now understand why appointments with him are hard to come by. Also, the employee who helped me to look for eyeglasses quickly and easily understood what I was looking for (despite my pickiness), ordered three pairs of eyeglasses (beyond their current selection) for me to try out when they arrive. DO NOT GO WITH INSURANCE Went in with a prescription and insurance. Picked out a pair of frames and was prepared to pay the difference after insurance. All I needed was anti reflective coating added. First thing they tell me is that they don't have standard coating which is only $20 co-pay. But wait, they don't have premium tier 1 either, I have to get premium tier 2 coating for $43. That is all they use. Well sorry but i am not the one to be preyed upon just because I have insurance, I will shop elsewhere. After shopping elsewhere with even more predatory practices, I decided I liked their frames better so I went back. Now we have a new story from a different salesperson. "Yes we have standard coating". Ok, i would like that. After asking questions about warranty, she had to go clarify some points on the warranty. Upon her return, I'm told they don't have any coatings except the premium tier 3 which is $120 after insurance. What a joke, they can't make their markup from insurance on the frames, so they rip you off on lense mark-ups to make up their margin. read more

Everything about my visit was, in my opinion, underhanded and deceitful. They insisted on insurance cards, though I repeatedly told them I had no vision insurance. I only needed a prescription for glasses because the Southwest Eye Center across the hall was taking care of medical eye issues. When I explained this, the woman doing the examination asked: "Then why are you here?" (????) They said, "You are so lucky. We can get you in right away because we just had an appointment cancelation." I don't think there was an "appointment cancelation." They didn't want me to start thinking about the exorbitant $656 price for my polarized, photo-gray, anti-glare glasses. The sales associate stressed several times the money I would save via insurance for my examination and glasses. She said you will have $161.61 paid by insurance. This is after I told her I had no vision insurance. She then stapled a brochure on top of a credit card slip, shoved it toward me using her left hand to make the slip just visible under the stapled brochure, and said "I only need your signature here," pointing to the signature line with her right hand while lifting the stapled brochure over the slip with her left hand, shading most of the information above the signature line. I began to realize I had signed for $656, which she never verbalized. As I stated above, I believe everything about my contact with the associates at Corona Optique was underhanded and deceitful. read more
