I enjoy trying know stuff and getting my body in a better state. Don't judge me - but i did try the COLON HYDROTHERAPY SESSION and groupon deal came with 4 sessions. For that procedure - i would figure you have a nice room you change in with nice smelling flower; you know to get the atmosphere flowing. NOPE... you're basically walking in a "DOCTOR OFFICE" type setting and asked to disrobe from the waist down and lay on a table with a towel over you. So classy environment here. Lol! Well i totally forget the person who was helping me - she was nice and very quiet at first; omg why did the first session there wasn't any music playing. Ugh - so i was asking several questions during that time and she was happy to answer ALL of them. I will say I did go to 2 out of 4 session; unfortunately the last session discourage me to come back. Why? because one of receptionist was pushing product hard - like come on like me leave already. It was the worst especially since i didn't inquire about any and i said NO multiple times. Ugh! That being said - I just didn't come back for my last two sessions. ***If I had to make any suggestion then it would be - please get a bigger bathroom, update the rooms a little, and fix the stained ceilings/cover the water pipes coming out the walls. Felt like that time should have been made up. My second issues was: they laid me flat on my back. That's a no no for a pregnant woman. I began to feel nauseous laying flat on my back and my baby began to hurt more! The reason was their beds don't raise to accommodate a growing baby belly. So I asked the therapist to let me change positions. She obliged but mentioned she would need to change her massage plan. Prior to this experience I had 2 other prenatal massages and neither one laid me on my back. I would suggest they get beds that can be adjusted to better position to accommodate a growing pregnant belly. Also the spa is located in an office building on the lower level.

I live out of the country, but am from Michigan originally. I know many people can't understand…read morethe concept of having a colon cleanse, and if you are on the fence, this review is for you. And yes, some of this is TMI, but I am hoping to reach and help others. I recently had an intestinal health issue - my ileocecal valve was inflamed and not functioning properly. I don't always have access to organic foods where I live so I think the accumulation of pesticides, insecticides, and herbicides affected my normal function. I had pain and an overall feeling as if something was stuck. I tried supplements and changing some things in my diet, and those did help. But I knew I needed a colonic. Noone offers this service where I live, so I came to Michigan a couple weeks ago to visit family and booked a colonic with Michelle. First thing to mention is that Michelle offers the closed system - far superior to the open system, which I tried in California in 2012. The open system is like a continuos enema, which isn't bad, but the water and cleanse can't reach to the other side like it does with the closed. And that's exactly what I needed for my problem. Michelle does a way better job at explaining the differences between the two, but all I can say is - I will always go for the closed method. Second thing to mention is I ended up needing two treatments to get through all the sludge and blockages in my descending colon to access the ascending colon. I brought a friend with me (that's a good friend!) and she ended up purchasing a four pack. If I lived near someone that offered colonics, I would go yearly or maybe twice a year. I know people who go regularly and others who only go when they have an issue. When you think about it, it is kind of weird to think about getting your butt cleaned out, but - just don't think about that. Instead, think about all the money, doctor's visits, and pain you could save yourself by having this done. That's the way I look at it. About half-way through the second session the hard plaque-like blockage came out and I immediately felt relief. Now, my digestion is 100% and I am pain-free. There was no pill that I could have taken to cure my issue and it cost me 2 treatments of colon hydrotherapy and 2 hours of my life. If you are someone thinking about this, I encourage you to call Michelle and discuss your questions with her. I really believe in the healing and preventative benefits of this service.

The massage therapist's service--no continuity/flow in the massage, she jumped from one body part to another haphazardly and quickly (within a minute she would jump from my shoulders, to my shins,back to my shoulders), pressure of massage was also not uniform and seemed haphazard as well; --I felt stressed during/end of the massage 2. The massage therapist's commentary--I heard about medication she was taking and then not taking, I heard about her dog, I heard about her sister, I heard about sunglasses she took off a rack at a store-- multiple topics that jumped around quickly as well. 3.Not sure what the scent was at the time of the massage, but this was not something that I preferred--I realize that this point is more subjective of an experience and that others may be fine with the scent--this point did NOT contribute to the star rating. -I got this massage in 2017. Something called to me today and boy am I glad I stopped. I ended up having a 30 min acupressure session with Ke. It was extremely relaxing and just what I needed to destress after a busy work week. Ke managed to hit all my trouble spots in my neck and shoulders. Not to be crass but I always a good butt massage because people often forget that your butt connects your back and legs so much stress stems from there. Ke didn't miss a beat but was extremely professional. I noticed there are cameras in the treatment area too so no one can claim otherwise. For $30 this was worth every penny. There were two people there, a man and a woman. The woman was easy to communicate with and understand but the man new little to no English so the lady translated for him. I had the man work on me and he did a wonderful job throughout. He really helped loosen my super tight muscles and was a very kind man. I will definitely return to Life Studio.
