    Pulled Pork And Burnt Ends
    Randy G.

Holy smokey! Talk about some serious BBQ with some serious smokey flavor. There is no missing that flavor in their food. As you sit here and read this, imagine sticking your head in a cloud full of wood burning cloud of smoke. Now you get the picture. I had to try their combo option with all five of their meats. I was least impressed with their Pulled Pork. It was soft and tender but it taste as though the flavor had been drained out of it. It just didn't have much flavor to it. The Burnt Ends, just close your eyes and enjoy. I made sure I didn't eat all of it so I could end with these. It was the best of all five. I'll easily ditch all the rest for a full plate of these. It's smokey, juicy, tender, crunchy, greasy, and tangy. The BEST! The Ribs and Brisket are also very good. They love to include the smokey flavor here. There is no hiding smokiness in either of these as well. In one aspect I wish something didn't have the smokiness. Not because I don't like it, but for a bit of contrast. Lastly were their Sausages. These also have a hint of smokiness, but also sweetness. They have a nice outer shell snap from the casing. They do admit though that these are bought from someone else instead of them making it. I didn't mind, I still enjoyed them I want some more burnt ends now!

Came here after a slow roll, It was parked at batch brewing company. They have these things called" burnt bits" and I did not know what they were so i asked the guy and he described them as basically brisket because I thought they were going to be more like rib tips and boy was I wrong. They were so delicious! They just ripped apart so easily. YUM!! Also order a side a mac and cheese that was middle of the line for me, not bad but not the best. And the brisket came with cornbread that was mouthwatering! Yum, yum yum!

Tasted like it was burn and then reheated. I asked to get it redone and was told I can't and to deal with it.

Meat was dried out and very over priced. Plus everything just looked unsanitary. I'd rather eat frozen pulled pork from the grocery store.

At an event last tonight at Hart plaza…read more It's the longest line at the event or maybe Nu Deli was double the length. Ordered two chicken corn tacos ($20 ticket voucher), walking Doritos chicken nachos ($20 ticket voucher, mangonada ($15) and a pina colada in a pineapple with fresh fruit ($30). Ordered 3 more chicken corn tacos with cash ($10). All told they charged us $59.61 cash and $40 of ticket vouchers, that's $99.61. Seems rather steep for what we got and really inflated too. The tacos were okay, nothing special. Chicken was little small granules and almost seemed like it was maybe ground chicken or the strangest chicken granules we have ever seen. Not what we expected at all. The pineapple pina colada was so-so, not worth $30. The mangomada didn't taste so great, was disappointing for $15. The walking taco would have benefits better less the water logged corn that sogged things up quickly in the nacho Doritos bag. All in I would not say it was worth nearly $100 worth of food and drinks here.

So many people around trying to get a yummy snack. There were so many things to chose from. I wanted the Eskimo Popsicle, but they were out. Then I was deciding between the Nevada mango or the Nevada Strawberry. My daughter was craving mango, so I went with that. It was really incredible. It tasted like a mango puree smoothie with whipped cream. It was around $10. It was a very large portion. I love the festive look and mango on top. I would like to try the strawberry next. I did not get any food. The tamales looked good and the churros too. I am not sure if they are a regular here at the market but I would love to see them again at this location.

I'm not sure whether this…read morehopping red food truck brands itself Chick-a-Dee or Chick-a-D (in our classic English Gothic 'D' font) so you'll have to bear with what they put on their website. Food trucks are all the rage. It seems almost every food movement now has representation on wheels, a plus for those of us in specialty cuisine drought areas or savouring more than a hamburger or hot dog at entertainment venues and festivals. Now the competition in the Metro area is fairly fierce across all categories, so setting oneself apart takes no special magic other than damn good food at a reasonable price. Chick-a-dee, with its eponymous poultry mascot suggests, specialises in chicken. Their simple menu stretches through the standards you might expect: chicken tenders and fries, fried chicken, chicken dogs. There may be a wider menu I somehow missed but you'll have to forgive me, I was too busy scarfing down an exquisitely breaded, juicy, oil-free tender spiked with delicately savory finishes to really notice. That grumbling you heard? Me that I neglected to buy four pieces, instead of two, shared with my beau. It may also be my stomach insisting another piece would be ideal. For all it's an American staple, breaded and fried chicken is notoriously difficult to do well. Too little care, it ends up an oil-engorged mess with the breading sloughing off or unpleasantly dry and chewy. Too often the latter happens, especially when made by an inexperienced or rushed cook. Not so the case with Chick-a-dee. I don't know what I was expecting, but what I got was an incredibly moist, tasty tender as long as my fist is wide, and generously breaded. If I have a single complaint -- other than not being fed more of this goodness as part of a 9 piece tender basket -- it might be I'd like a more savory breading option. Am I hyper focused on that breading? Yes, yes I am, because it came out golden and fluffy, flashed to the right balance of crisp and soft. It sealed in the proper amount of juiciness to the chicken. Prices are fair, the French fries are a little bit lacking compared to their amazing chicken, and they whipped up my order in no time flat. You've made a convert out of me, sweet birds, and I'll be singing your praises to my fellow Detroiters.

I'm gonna start with the egg rolls, they were by far the best part. Absolutely fantastic flavor and the #75 sauce made it even better. The chicken tenders were good; but the fries were not that great. Maybe piling the tenders on top made them soggy but we ate it within minutes of receiving it. The house ranch made them better. The Atwater chicken has a lot of potential, the garlic cilantro aioli needed some salt or something, you can taste it has good body just lacked punch. So the chicken sandwich was just ok. Service: Amazing, my brother made good recommendations and they were pretty quick about getting the order ready. Always appreciate a kind face that doesn't need to rush you as you ask questions. Ambiance: You can get expensive gas while you wait for your food. I'm sure it's an awesome spot when the weather is warm. It's definitely a spot to come back to. We enjoyed our meal.

Now, objectively I can say it's very good. The portions are huge, the meat is flavorful and juicy, the peppers were good. There's just some herb or something mixed in there in the marinade/aus jus, that I just don't think I like (I think it might be fennel? Something kind of licorice-y that I don't jive with). But if you're an Italian beef fan, or enjoy that flavor profile, you're gonna love it! Now, what I did love was everything else! The fried ravioli? Delicious! The french fries? So good! And a very generous portion of both! Service was also VERY friendly and everything was prepared quite quickly! It's a walk up window but there are some picnic tables for dining there, though I chose to eat in my car before making my way back home. I would 100% come back by and go for perhaps a sausage or a coney dog next time, definitely stick with orders of those ravioli and fries, too!
