Hands down, best chicken in all of Berkley. This is the Raising Canes of Oakland County. And it's pretty easy to say that since there aren't many places in Berkley that sell fried chicken. But also because, this is some of the best chicken in all of Metro Detroit, period. Went to Nashville recently, and I have to say I no longer have to worry about returning to Tennessee for chicken. Little Lou's Hot Chicken is so tasty. I got my order to-go, and my chicken breast was steaming and extremely juicy when I tore into it. Absolutely mouthwatering breading on the chicken. I found myself digging in the box for little pieces here and there. I gotta say I'm impressed by the price being so reasonable for how great everything was. I've never been to the brick and mortar location, but I had a chance to visit the Little Lou's food truck. In the past my friends had told me that Little Lou's had great chicken, and while I was excited to try it, I didn't think it would be *that great* because how much different can a chicken sandwich be than all of the others? I was mistaken. It was honestly such a great sandwich. I had the sando with mild heat. It was the perfect amount of spice for me, and the chicken was soooo crunchy and flavorful. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. I think I typically expect food truck food to be sub-par, but I was so impressed by this sandwich. Excellent Nashville hot chicken! I had their sando (sandwich) and a side, their southern slaw. I ordered the sandwich mild heat but could have easily done the medium. (First time trying so I err on the side of caution). I didn't love their slaw, (liked it tho), too many onions for my liking so I'd get another side next time. The sandwich was very good but it could've used more sauce on it (I was too lazy to go inside for more). Cute interior and a lot of outdoor seating too. I was worried of the heat since I'm pregnant and heartburn is unreal but definitely could have gone hotter! Very crispy, very yummy, and the crinkle cut fries are awesome. Good spot for a quick family meal as opposed to going to a fast food chain. I kept it simple and ordered the Sando medium heat and a side of collard greens. My order was ready within 10 minutes and the staff brought it to my table. The chicken on the sando was juicy and the perfect size. Not too spicy with the pickles and Cole slaw. It did get a little messy but that's what a good fried chicken sandwich is all about. The collard greens were just okay. Collard greens are one of my favorite foods so I may be picky. I found these ones needed more smoked meat or something to make them more savory. And could have been cooked a little more. I did order the banana pudding pie to go and that was perfect. The chicken pics look pretty good on here, let's see how they taste and if it's really hot or not. It's located on the corner of Coolidge and Catalpa at the light. They have a patio with quite a few tables. 7 tables inside. Benches while you wait. Their music seems a tad too loud, then again our seat is right by the speaker, which we picked since the seat seemed out of the way. We ordered two chicken tender combos one hot with fries with the shake sauce ($0.50, which costs them pennies), and slaw and the other one with slaw and potato salad and extra side of pickles ($0.75) and side of their comeback sauce. $28.89. They didn't give us a number, they only took our name down. The woman that took our order asked if the order was wrong. Guess she doesn't recall our order at all. Tried to give side of beans, which wasn't on either of orders. She asked if "they" gave us a number. She took our order. We said just said no One order was short one tender, they would bring it out to us shortly, since they ran out with the latest rush of orders. The slaw isn't too bad, okay flavor, it's nicer since it's a vinegar instead of a creamy slaw, but a hit bland. The medium tenders are nicely seasoned. The hot tenders are quite good and spicy for my husband. Nice and crispy too, seems like they double fry to get out crispy. The potato salad is very creamy, but bland. The side containers are deceptive, it looks like you are getting more, but the inside container bottom actually cokes up about a half inch from the bottom. The "Lil Dark" (their leg + thigh) tasted amazing, although they served as one whole piece so they were incredibly messy, but hey! not a real hardship!! Fries are done right and are delicious. Nashville hot chicken is the food fad that won't die, and for good reason. If it wasn't so bad for my health I would eat fried chicken multiple times a week. On this particular day I decided to make a trip here during my lunch break. 5 minutes from my job site was a perfectly located hot chicken spot. The place appears large on the outside, but when you walk in the actual dining area is not that big. Half of the space is the kitchen alone, which I find very impressive. The menu is quite simple, as you can tell from one of the pictures. For my meal I requested the chicken tenders (highest spice level) with cole slaw and fries. The tenders were made to order, so when served to me they were nice and piping hot. That turned out to be a detriment as the intense spice level coupled with the high temperature of the poultry made for a difficult dining experience (which was my fault admittedly). Getting past that, I found the food to be incredibly flavourful and well balanced. I am so happy I requested the cole slaw as one of my sides, because that and the lemonade helped me get through this amazing meal. I enjoyed every single bite and the only one complaining was my stomach from acid reflux. I really wish I didn't have to go back to work after eating that because I wanted to knock out, so if you decide to come here make sure it's on an off day. The cherry on top of the cake for me was when one of the staff (possibly the owner) approached me to ask me how my meal was and I was more than happy to tell him I loved it. 5/5 kind of business read more

Not sure what the breading is made of, but it stays crispy to the end. 2 areas of improvement: the pickle slices are new dill and taste more like a slice of cucumber. The Chicken Sandwich with "hot" spice level is a top 5 favorite food of mine right now. The chicken is sizable and well-seasoned, with the pickles and cole slaw balancing all the flavors while adding some texture. The hot spice level is perfect for me- enough to make my nose run but not enough to make me sweat (and I eat spicy food a lot) Like other reviews say, the fries aren't the best. But I could care less about the fries when the chicken and other sides are great. I like the greens and the cowboy beans. Not to mention the value is great. The sandwich + one side for $12 is a better value than any fast food sandwich (and vast majority of sit-down restaurants). A few reviewers don't love the service but I don't know what they expect. Sure, the guy behind the counter isn't going to tap dance and smile while taking your order. Everyone in there gives good service from my experiences.
