We've been enjoying an extended stay in one of their suites, due to a pipe bursting last week in our home in Pleasant Ridge. I can't say enough good things about this hotel! As stressed out as we all are, the accommodating staff and the cleanliness of this hotel have helped ease our stress. Our kids, of course, feel like they're on a vacation so no complaints from them. haha

Let be clear upfront...... I didn't stay a the hotel. I only attended an event in the large ballroom. The reception in the lobby was great. The program and event in the ballroom was very nice. All the staff and service were very attentive and accommodating. I really enjoyed the banquet facilities and food service. The food was tasty and delightful.

Spent a few nights at this Marriott property and I was impressed. The facility is nice and the staff (front desk, housekeeping, restaurant, bar) are EXCEPTIONAL!!! SPECIAL Kudos to Jaffery Akbar (Front Desk Lead) for his professionalism and sense of urgency in locating an overnighted package that contained my cell phone. Additional Kudos to Ashley (aka... Citrus Killer) & Jo for their entertaining and personalized customer service at the bar.

Outstanding hotel and staff was exceptional. Such a great location. Right across street is incredible restaurants and bars.

A classic older style Marriott that's been freshened up a bit with furniture and carpeting but still in the old-school room layout with older style bathrooms and fixtures. I was staying on business for just one night and as business hotels go it was fine. Clean room, AC unit that was well functioning and speedy efficient Check-in process with a great and helpful fellow at the front desk. Beyond the basics, there wasn't anything special about this place, just another bland, cookie-cutter suburban hotel catering to business travelers. Again, nothing at all wrong with the place-just sort of blah. Perfect for a night or two on business.

The lobby food is so good. No need to venture out and try anything outside the drinks and food is so delicious. Helpful staff and very comfortable rooms, seems to be very busy because its next to the hospital and busy conference rooms being used. But overall great stay at the hotel and not a long drive to shopping

Very clean, comfy bed- cool red lamp... seriously, I need to buy that lamp! :) The soaps and shampoos didn't have the best smell to them... kind of odd actually, but they were ok. The shower was nice. I would have liked one with more water pressure, but I think nowadays the only showers with high pressure are motels in the sticks who haven't purchased new shower heads in the last 50 years. They were a little stingy with the towels, but since we stayed two days, they replaced them while were were away on the 2nd day. I think the best part was the restaurant/bar downstairs. It was very laid back and friendly. Our server could have been the owner because he was very eager to please and wanted our feedback. I ordered the turkey rueben panini, and it was AWESOME!!!!! It had a homemade cole slaw on it that was sweet and crunchy and sooooo good! I wanted to eat the whole sandwich, but I couldn't fit it all in my stomach...so I dreamt about it later that night. yeah, it was that good. We bought the Somerset shopping package, and that is the way to go!!!!! for $130 or so a night, we had a great room, free dessert, $25 gift certificate for anything at the Somerset mall, free valet parking at the mall and free breakfast. We pooled our two $25 gift certificates together and bought a box of chocolates at Godiva. yeah. :) Since it was food, they didn't charge tax, so it was an even $50 for a box of chocolately heaven. Breakfast was great as well. It included the buffet, or anything on menu! We each ordered the $15 All American Breakfast which had eggs, a meat, toast and hash browns. All cooked just right. The server was very friendly too! All in all it was a great experience, and I would have given them a 5 star if the shampoos didn't smell so weird. :p

Pasta Carbonara with chicken (room service).

Hubby and I along with two kiddos in tow, stayed here last week while in Michigan attending a wedding. I must say this Marriott met, and at times, exceeded our expectations. Upon check-in, they confirmed our room requests. Unfortunately their idea of a crib is a pack and play which is not the most comfortable for a five month old. I rate the entire hotel staff a 10. Everyone was pleasant and went above and beyond to assist us when needed. Room service was efficient and actually tasty. However one night we ordered the chicken carbonara and it was ridiculously salty. A dish with sundried tomatoes, cheese ravioli and pancetta does not extra salt in the cream sauce. Their pizza and buffalo wings were much better. Overall we enjoyed our stay and received a great deal on their breakfast package. We'll more than likely stay here again in the future as they're family friendly, convenient to shopping and restaurants and right off of the freeway.

The rates that will NOT be coming down from $175 per night in April. Oh...wait.

Marriott in Auburn Hills is better - the rooms here were very dated, halls old, even lobby was mediocre. lounge closed on weekend too.

The person who made our reservation assured us that our late arrival would be noted on the reservation. When we checked in, the front desk agent told us they had given our room to someone else. He spent a long time looking for another room while being rude and dismissive throughout the interaction. Eventually, he told us he was putting us in a suite. Unfortunately, the "suite" was anything but an upgrade. The room had a terrible odor, the air conditioner was extremely loud, there were crackers left inside the pull-out sofa bed, the window was so dirty it was difficult to see outside, and the bathroom had almost no counter space. I'm still not sure what qualified it as a suite other than having two televisions. We asked to be moved and were given a standard room instead. While it didn't have the same odor, it came with its own problems. The air conditioner was so loud it woke us up throughout the night. The bathroom offered virtually no privacy because every sound could be heard throughout the room. The ice bucket was filthy, with chunks of dried food stuck to the inside of the lid. The pool area was also dirty and poorly maintained. In fact, the entire hotel feels outdated and worn. There was an unpleasant smell throughout the building, and instead of addressing it, the hotel seemed to be masking it with an overpowering artificial vanilla fragrance that made the experience even worse. The most frustrating part of our stay was that we paid for Friday night specifically so our room would be available when we arrived Saturday morning, yet the hotel gave our reserved room to another guest. Combined with the poor customer service, lack of cleanliness, excessive noise, and the property's outdated condition, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays we've experienced. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.

A basic hotel with basic fares. It had a small gym, but no breakfast option, which is fine. The front desk was courteous (except for the young lady who put me in the worst room of the hotel). Room #114 is next to the laundry room and the big, loud, noisy vents. The vents started at 6:00am and were extremely annoying. I would stay here, IF they provided another room option.

On the first night, we requested extra sheets and comforters, and got them quickly. We also requested late check-out on our last morning, and that was super easy too. We stayed in a spacious 1BR suite. There is a big desk that can also be used as a dining table. The queen bed in the bedroom was quite comfortable. The kitchenette was stocked with plates, cups, cutlery, some salt & pepper packets, a toaster, coffee machine, microwave, a full-size fridge, hot plate, one pot and one pan. I wouldn't plan on doing any serious cooking here, but it was enough to heat up leftovers and make some pasta, which is all we needed. They also have some extra appliances (crock pots, rice cookers, blenders) in the lobby, which you can borrow. The sofa bed is incredibly uncomfortable. I could feel the springs digging into my back. It was also pretty narrow and it would be difficult to squeeze two people on it. Having one person sleep on top of the sofa (not converted into a bed) seemed like it would be okay, though I didn't try it. There were 10 1BRs on the first floor and 25 regular rooms. The building is three stories tall. Overall, given the price that we paid, I'm happy with the value that we received. The furniture is a bit scuffed, the pleather chairs are peeling, and the appliances are a bit old. The fridge was a bit loud, though we were able to close the door, since we were in a 1BR. The shower dispenser was out of shampoo. The dishwasher was dirty and had bits of food stuck to the inside of the door. But none of this was a big deal or an inconvenience to us. I was worried about other reviews that complained about dirty walls, stained carpet, weird smells, and broken doors, but we did not experience any of this. Next time, I would request a room on the higher floor, as it feels nicer to be a bit higher up, even if your view is still of the ceiling.
