I found Jasmine's Instagram (@jabrockilove) and her work is just *chef's kiss*. I started going to her over a year ago and she always shaped my brows exactly to how I liked them. She is a true artist at her craft, and she takes her time and is meticulous and detail-oriented when it comes to her work. I cannot recommend her enough. I also got an eyebrow tint here before, which is a natural and subtle tint for the eyebrows. I liked the subtle tint so much, I ended up going to get ombre eyebrow tattoos so I have a subtle tint 24/7. :) Definitely can't say enough good things about Jasmine! Compared to other places where you can get the same quality. Especially for fill-ins. Most places, charge between $60-$75 (on average). This place charges $120. They claim it's because you will only need your lashes filled every three weeks. Even a month. If that were true, I would actually have no problem paying an every three week fill, of quality. But, therein lies the issue. After a week, the lashes start falling out pretty regularly. Consistently. By two weeks, they need to be filled, noticeably. Which is what I always ended up doing. Paying $120 to get my lashes filled every other week. And yes, I did say "always". Because I'm not just basing this after only going a few times. I went there regularly for nearly six months. I would communicate to Maryam, that they weren't holding up as long as I would have liked. She recommended a few things. Lash care. Things I already knew. I've been getting extensions for two plus years. I know how to take care of them. Excuses about your natural lashes shedding in the fall. Which I'm not saying isn't valid. But, the rate at which I would lose the fake lashes didn't decrease when winter hit. After going there for as long as I have, Maryam did not hesitate to charge me $60 because I missed an appointment because I got the dates confused. I had NEVER not shown up for an appointment ever. And, it was an appointment to patch up her work that was already falling out after a week.....again. That is poor customer service and not a good way to keep clients. After getting my extensions done for so long, I have to say that it isn't easy to find someone that does, even, a quality job. It is even more difficult to find someone who does a quality job at a reasonable price. A price that reflects the longevity of the work before needing another fill. I'm not looking for a cheap price. Because with something like this, you get what you pay for. If I'm paying $120 for a fill, the work better reflect that price. I was not getting $120 worth, biweekly. I don't expect a deal or a discount price, just a fair price. While it can be difficult to find a lash person, I can say with confidence, that you can definitely find someone who's prices and work, are better than Pure Beauty.

I went to a market in Detroit a few weeks ago where this business had a pop up. Brittany did my tattoo - after not having the stencil for either of my other choices, I decided on a few finger tattoos. My sister also got a tattoo and immediately after paying we both regretted our decisions to get these. The line work is horribly inconsistent, there were errors all over. Two weeks after proper aftercare (I have many other tattoos) the tattoo is almost completely gone. This artist does not possess the qualifications and skills to be called a fine line tattoo artist and I would not recommend.

There are several cosmetologists at Hanan's, but I think Marie is the most talented. I see Marie every couple months or so to get my eyebrows waxed. Of all the places I've gone, Marie is the best. She is so much fun to talk to and does a PERFECT job. I never feel any pain and she makes me feel totally pampered. Once she is done perfecting my eyebrows, she usually finishes up by filling in my brows, or adding some eye shadow to a touch of gloss. She always picks flattering colors and takes her time, I never feel rushed. I haven't gotten my makeup done yet at Hanan, but I have seen the results of others and it always looked great (but is a little pricey). I also know that they will come to you to apply your makeup, but they charge a travel fee.
